Underdog? NO. The Oakland Athletics are most certainly NOT underdogs. The Oakland Athletics have won 9 world series, 15 AL pennants, 17 division titles and 4 wild card berths. I don't care if it was before your time (it was before my time too) you don't get to ignore that history and call yourself underdogs just because your team's owners had turned your team/organization into a clown show. There's only one TRUE underdog in baseball and that's my favorite team: The Seattle Mariners. Oakland Athletics should stop feeling sorry for themselves and bring back their A game. But either way Mariners are winning the 2024 World Series and we ain't stopping there because we need to win ten more after that so we can steal the crown from y'all! GO MARINERS! :)
A lot of people were saying they were going to be terrible; A's management have shown they know how to build a team over the last decade and longer even with smaller payroll. Last year was the tear it down year, and now already starting to build it up. Congrats to them and Kotsay for so far. The A's, I think of them as the A's already. They will be that in Sac, and no one goes to the games now in Oak. so, they are already there. Build it for LV A's in '28. Go A's! Keep shocking.
The dominant bullpen gives them a huge advantage in late, one-run games (especially extra innings).. As long as Miller& Erceg stay healthy, the A's will continue to over-achieve.
This is a prime example that you can build through a farm system exclusively. Yes having money helps, but look at the dodgers they only have the 2020 WS to show us. Credit Mark Kotsay and the entire staff to have his team put on blinders on everything going on in the organization

With how bad our offense is compared to the rest of the league, we just need to be ahead to get to the 8th inning. Then its Lucas The Iceman Erceg to seal the 8th to then hand it over to Mason the Madman Miller to close it. But I think there is a little bit of fuck you going on right now with the A's with how awesome MIller is because no team wants to face that thing with the game on the line.

They don’t want the A’s because Fisher won’t sell & they don’t want him. I think the best case scenario is A’s stayed in Oakland & Fisher sells the team but I doubt that is going to happen. The 2nd best scenario, they should try & stay permanently in Sacramento instead
@@togoandmoss The Trop was getting torn down regardless. Up until there’s shovels in the ground, the deal isn’t done. There’s a lot of pushback in Vegas & the rest of the state. They want an MLB but not the A’s. What they don’t understand, getting the A’s is probably their best option in getting a team because the expansion cities are pretty much already picked (SLC & Nashville)
When looking at the Oakland A’s saga one has to recall the Montreal Expos. The stadium issue is similar, however, the saddest similarity is the terrible mismanagement of MLB commissioner and executives who are sacrificing baseball history, markets and fans. Montreal had some of the greatest attendance figures in baseball in a horrible stadium, and the promise of a bright future until 1994 when MLB pulled the plug on baseball and specifically the Montreal Expos. Ten years later they were gone. The MLB executives need to stop sacrificing the game, the history and the fans of baseball. Almost 100,000 fans for exhibition games in Montreal in that horrendous stadium, it tells you something about the passion of a city for baseball. Why can’t MLB see that? Oakland has 50 years of rich history, don’t sacrifice that either.

Is it not a perfect “sell high” time for miller this year? and by perfect I mean perfect for fisher to get some even cheaper prospects for a guy with lots of team control left. Could get a lot back for a potential arm issue guy. I really hope they don’t cause he is must watch for me but I wouldn’t put it past those bozos
2012 A’s were a rookie super team projected to be in last place in the AL West. They ended up winning the division, anything is possible with this organization. I’ve seen it every 6 years since 2000 with 12 playoffs runs since then.
I don’t think you’re grasping this too well…with the bullpen options they have, specially late in games, with the athleticism at defense and with the improved offense they’ll generate post June when the Coliseum plays warmer, this team will just end up much more competitive than any of the last few years…Kotsay has also shined as a manager…this team is a legit 500 team this year…

As a Mariners fan I'm not surprised at all because historically speaking Oakland has had the MOST success in the AL West. The Rangers, Angels and Astros are all tied with one legit world series ring and Mariners have yet to get to the world series. Meanwhile y'all greedy bastards got NINE world series rings. Although if you want to count Oakland only and not the Philly Athletics then it's 4 world series rings. That's still 4 world series rings. It's just a lot of people are too young to actually have watched those games and of course you want to win now.
