Kevin's brutal honesty is the way to be in business. A lot of the other sharks like to sugar-coat things and that doesn't really do the entrepreneurs any favors.
Given Mark’s reaction I can’t imagine this product will go anywhere in the future. It’s funny because they probably came here for the publicity, and got humbled.
It's entertaining to see not only the sharks be unsatisfied with the product, but also to see a bunch of comments from people that have tried this chocolate milk and don't like it either.
This product straddles between being a fitness/gym protein drink, and a daily lifestyle/enjoyment chocolate milk replacement. I think that's their biggest problem.
I actually tried the product, the taste actually is okay if you consider it a protein shake or canned coffee. However, it it's a chocolate milk substitute, it's a bad product. They just gotta market it differently
@@Eminence_1337advertising? 💀 They were criticizing tf outta those milkshake, and basically the whole company. I don't think that's something to be congratulated for 💀
The producers are the ones that choose the companies, right? Shark Tank obviously wants companies that fall on their face in front of millions of views. They say, why come to us pre sales… well obviously the producers wanted a pre sales company on the show. It’s an entertainment show.
nothing wrong with that in my opinion, it's still free publicity and marketting for their business and sometimes outside investors find these small businesses through shark tank and invest in them too. Also it's more interesting and entertaining then having 100% good business ideas on the show
Dark chocolate can be pretty bitter so Mark's reaction may not mean much. My concern would be more the price tag. 3.99 for a can is a lot and who really cares about protein? A bodybuilder will go for something with less fat and more protein like a shake and the average joe doesnt really care about protein.
@@lil_Wayyy Protein powder is its own category. These guys think they're going to disrupt the chocolate milk industry just because they have more protein in theirs.
I got a case of this milk at a liquidation store for $5 for 12 cans. It was a C- for me. Basically combine the consistency of a canned coffee with a chocolate flavored protein shake. I would rather just chill a chocolate protein shake, personally.
They did the right thing after that: They worked another year on their product and launched it, did some good sales and collected more money. I wish them luck, they were definetly to early, but not arrogant or lazy.
Even if the taste is excellent. This space is very competitive and brutal. Will require huge operation budget to be in every store and collect your money after 60 days
The way this episode was put together is hilarious (May 2020) and all of the Shark's comments made me pml :)) Also wondering if Kevin tried "I'm working on a new nicer Mr Wonderful" in future episodes or did he give up? lol
@@Eminence_1337 They all make me laugh with their comments and mostly good banter toward each other which is one of the reasons why I watch the show on YT.
I’m surprised that Mr Wonderful didn’t invest. This sounds just like a company with no due diligence, no profit but with great partners. Just like FTX.
It's one thing to not have any sales or profits. but when you have a product that nobody seemed to like, and the owners acknowledge the taste isn't the greatest... thats when it gets rough... and then that valuation? yeah not happening!
These guys are classic “networker” types. Overvaluing things like relationships when no one knows how real those connection really are. All the value was in other people, not themselves and what they can bring to the table.
That 4billion comment made me fart out loud laughing and was on earphones sharing a table with a certain family I don't know of and we were all having dinner and they had kids🤭😂
It's so easy to make healthy chocolate milk. Like any adult who likes chocolate milk is already buying or making it in whatever way works for them. Protein folks already have powders to add to it. There's no market for this.
How do people feel bold enough to come to this show and not put in any work? AKA PROFITS!! Everything else is a detail, the main point is MONEY. Who cares who you know if you haven’t actually sold anything??? It’s ABSURD and they’re so arrogant about it.
NGL I hate every choc milk brand out there because they literally all have more sugar than Coke. These guys should have come on after doing some sales and I bet it would have gone better for them.
I’ve got to give these guys props. The product may not be great yet, but they are working on it and secured one of the best salesman in the business. They didn’t get a deal, but they did take in a lot of constructive criticism in a respectful and humble way. It is not our success that defines us, but rather our ability to learn from failure. They succeeded in doing that and that will propel them forward
Unhealthy stuff tastes good cause it is what our body wants, to build reserves. That is why sugar gives you positive feedback and why fat makes everything taste better. The best solution to the chocolate milk "problem" is, drink normal chocolate milk and either watch the rest of the calories you eat that day or just work out and burn them. Because there is no replacement for the real stuff, the body can't be that easily cheated not even with replacement sugars. Just eat the normal "natural" stuff and deal with the consequences cause you can't have the best of both worlds without working out or cutting caloric corners.
I've seen these at Wegmans (NY-PA-VA) yo. Just sayin. Very minimal packaging. It will take some $$$ to educate the consumer. So right now they are in a sweet grocery store but nobody has heard of them so they get ignored. They have some connections and that makes them a bit cocky. Packaging should be flashier for a new product. The minimal Ikea aesthetic isn't working for me. I'm out.
They still didn't get it afterwards, talking about how they should've pitched their connections more. Dudes, the sharks already told you they don't care about that. Connections can open some doors, but you still need a good product to take advantage of those opportunities, and based on the taste reactions, it doesn't seem like they had that.
Anyone that comes into the Tank pre-sales better have a product that is the best in the entire world and patented against the galaxy if they come with an evaluation like that.
Did these guys forget they are pitching to the Sharks, who have TONS of connections. What a joke to base part of your valuation on a guy, who isn't there.
