Great show guys! I have been saying Junk parallel era for a while. I can't take credit for it but think it fits perfectly. In 5 years, you are correct, nobody is going to pay decent money for /299 sticker auto Bedard (one 100 variants). Have you guys seen comc prices on YGs for series 2? Absolutely terrible. Excluding Bedard there are 6 guys over $1.50. And only one over $10...Carlsson who is about $23. Crash is on....

Upper Deck did bring back the 96 Game Jerseys as retro patches /15 n 2021 Series 1.

Plus, there were few players that were not put into packs but could be redeemed on epack as an achievement. Your boy Kirill has both a jersey and a patch/15 version. Again, you couldn't pull these from a pack, you had to complete an achievement on epack to be rewarded one of these.

Another interesting show. I do disagree with Troy. A) McDavid was not a no-show early. He had 14 shots in the first three games, while being conspicuously pass-first, shadowed by Barkov, and Bob going nuts. What else is he supposed to do? B) McDavid has already won the Conn Smythe, win or lose. He would be only the sixth player ever, and second non-goalie, to win it in defeat. That will semi-cement his legacy, and quiet ppl. But, he is only 27. So he likely will get a couple more chances, mindful EDM could also now realistically be the second team ever coming back from 0-3. ...When are you guys asking me on the show!

I have the sundin and gilmour. They made retros but they weren't the same as they cheaped out. I have a marner and matthews. I'd love to get the set from 96-97

They might have too many RC but at least for hockey cards people knows almost every year what holds value compared to other sports cards and also probably the only sport that paper has value more then chrome.

Great show! Way too many Rookie Cards.. all the parallels are very off putting.. I like one standard parallel per set, like refractor, or silver outburst personally.

Most of bedard cards are kinda ugly. Only card that I find aestheticly pleasing is the Easter egg , bedard's 2020 Regina pats xrc

There are far, far more "rookie year" cards than there are "rookie cards". The distinction makes a big difference.

I understand the distinction and can buy your argument. My problem is who decides what a rookie card is anymore with so many options? I don't buy the Beckett claim anymore because their influence and place in the hobby is diminished. josh

@@hockeycardsgongshow I get that, for sure. There are a number of cards in the margins, however as a general rule I see the hobby refer to base cards as rookie cards and inserts as rookie year cards.

I think the point is (which Troy and Josh made clear) the heavy dilution and sheer number of parallels we are observing in the modern hobby is very concerning. Not the the number of true rookies vs rookie year. Wax price increases coupled with depressed secondary values is a major concern.
