I like the newly remixed intro... so good. I'd find those scooters annoying anytime that I'm not on one. Definitely a bit of a mess without the right infrastructure. The editing on this one was a bit different too, loved it. Also really looking forward to seeing the new project when it comes out.
Good intro. The problem with the scooters is obviously the lack of space thanks to single occupancy cars dominating and choking cities, leaving no room for anyone else.
We just used these in Washington DC They fun for a tourist but if you use these every day to get around they're WAY TOO EXPENSIVE at 10$ for 30 minutes you're better off buying your own as it'll pay for itself in a few months. The fact that you can leave the thing anywhere is pretty great though. Lime had the best scooters but they were also expensive, birds scooters were by far the worst and also the most expensive at something like 30 cents a minute. The best company was spin with ok scooters and only 15 cents per minute. They should charge you on how far you actually travel because charging on a time basis forces people to drive like assholes and not obey the law because when you're sat at a crosswalk not going anywhere you're still paying.
I own a scooter, it's not the scooter. It's the user and companies who provide the service. I park my scooter on a bike rack. I fold it when not being used. I use the bell whenever I'm overtaking a pedestrian. And, I use the bike lane as long as it's there. Better owner makes these scooters the perfect transportation.
Moon Hawk Yeah, every time I hit the beach my friends in Venice & Santa Monica are always complaining about the scooters... And I get why- THEY. ARE. EVERYWHERE. I'd compare the situation to children who leave their bikes & toys all over the front yard, but the front yard is the entirety of Venice & Santa Monica.
Source? Have been watching Casey for years now and have no recollection of him stating anything of the sorts. Not to mention, Casey also sold his business Beme for 30 mil.
He wrote "Epsode". You know why? Because there's no I. There's only his team, which is him and Dan. This was just to let Dan know he hasn't forgotten about him. A silent tribute to the awesomeness of Dan Mace.
you aren't snowboarding inner city though, there isn't any infrastructure in place for scooters, so they are on sidewalks and in bike lanes, and they don't really belong in either place. i am used to dodging them on my bike and walking, but I am really surprised there aren't more accidents, throw in a few people scrolling twitter, and you get the point, you can't fix stupid, but that isn't really the scooter's fault, its the people renting them.
That's what you get when you don't have an infrastructure to support anything other than cars, motorbikes and pedestrians. In many other countries they'd fit in just fine.
Legally you need to wear a helmet but I passed half a dozen cops without one and nobody cared... These scooters can be dangerous but they are incredibly fun
We had a system like those scooters here in Melbourne, Australia, with single-geared bicycles. It didn't end well, they were thrown in rivers and up trees as people treated them like trash. Glad to see the LA service is having more success
We live in Santa Monica and the bird scooters are great, but I think they should have hubs for parking. People leave them everywhere- doorways, the middle of the sidewalks, roadways. It’s kind of crazy😂. People do go crazy riding them too. Jumping off the sidewalk, weaving in and out of traffic etc. I love the idea but it definitely needs some fine tuning.
I think if the scooters had docks all around it would solve the mess..like the bike rack in 368 or citibikes..dock it to stop rental fees and it would solve the mess
yea, but that takes away from the idea of why they were created in the first place. They want people to be able to roam freely around the city, but I actually agree with you. It's a nuisance to have scooters scattered everywhere. There was one just laying on the ground outside my apartment recently.
So buying a scooter is cool too tho.... Keeping it out of peoples way will be the key to sure success for these companies. They need to build rigs that go in parking spots all over the city . Nest Spots. One in every parking lot? Would be cool.... Somewhere if you park it you get a monetary bonus/discount? Meh?
TRY to HELP you From my experience with ofo and lime bikes, the cost hasn’t been that significant to warrant a parking discount. That just turns into those early citi bikes that had designated parking, and it’s inconvenient to go out of your way to park.
They have them, they’re called hot spots and drop spots and stuff like that, people just get inconsiderate and throw them wherever, you ARE able to just drop the scooter wherever when you’re done with it, but you’re supposed to park it in a manner where it won’t be inconvenient for anyone else. The problem is, no pedestrian really cares or thinks it’s their problem
literally just tried those electric scooters last week in Venice... was in the middle of filming a video about them but I kid you not... my drone battery exploded in my backpack. Burnt my little sister. Talking with DJI ATM but all in all the few minutes I had on it was fun.
$30 for an Uber ride that's an hour. $100-400 for an electric scooter that you also have to securely park in a city like LA where parking is hard, and then you have to take it back to your place.
@dandanthetaximan oh shoot, you're right, better lift the cap on how many acres of trees can be cut. You know, because there isn't a big enough demand to literally clear cut entire rainforests. Oh, oh I know, let's lift the cap on killing rhinos, I'm sure there is enough. You know what, how about we lift the cap on how many nuclear bombs a person can own, I'm sure there isn't a dangerous market for that anyway.
@dandanthetaximan in all seriousness, I'm all for limiting regulations to allow free market to thrive, but to say that there should be no Caps on anything is silly and very short sighted, in moderation imposed regulations can help create and sustain demand and availability. With no regulation you run the very serious and sometimes industry crushing oversaturation, before the market stabilized many hardworking people and companies could be bankrupted, thus destroying the very economy that would sustain the others in the field.
And then you lug around a 100+lb scooter everywhere you go. Casey fails to mention the best part of this: You ride where you need to go, you drop it where it stands. That's it, done. It's just like saying in NYC it probably would be smarter (fiscally) to just buy a car than cab it and Uber it, yet....
We need electric heelys! Where the further you tilt the toes of your foot downward, you go faster and as you raise your toes, the heels slows down a little for braking.
They are but Casey (and everyone else) should always be wearing helmets. I promise you, there will be a video of Casey getting in an accident and getting a TBI
reese c Most of them you just park it wherever as long as it's not blocking the sidewalk or street or hidden somewhere where it's hard to find. I think there's only a couple of companies that are requiring you to dock at specific stations, which is a pretty stupid and useless system imo.
See that’s what I hate about big Hollywood stars coming to the U2 platform. RU-vid is not about those big productions, it is about one or two people connecting with the camera very little editing very much Raw. It’s not those big Hollywood productions, that rubs me the wrong way.
Elite Clinical Research I see your point and also kind of unterstand it but with productions like this RU-vid has more to offer. You can watch what you want. You can watch Casey Neistat or who ever and what ever you want. I also think that with productions and series like that RU-vid will be taken more serious by other media. I dont know exactly how much of a problem that is in the US but the german speaking (Germany amd Austria) RU-vidrs a are often not taken serious when it comes to RU-vid and social media. Stuff like that might change because of productions like that.
Plus, Kevin Hart has a youtube channel and he still had to ask if subs was short for subscribers. I see what you're saying and I completely agree. This just shouldn't be the place for that kinda shit.
felix knasti Establishment media, never takes serious new media. But new media has all of the attention nobody watches that super edited and restricted stuff. So taking it seriously is inevitable, establishment media is going to die. We want authentic.
Gummi Bear Exactly. We like people that started from the bottom. And really understand the platform and what the audience on RU-vid cares about. You can’t just do Hollywood stuff on RU-vid, leave that for TV which nobody watches.
I get what you are saying, but that production was for RU-vid RED (a paid video service). So I wouldn't expect anything less from RU-vid. Does this rub you the wrong way lol
Here in Seattle, we have the same thing but with bikes. I've seen people drop them in the middle of the street and inside construction sites... they've been such a nuisance that they've become kind of a joke. A couple of months ago, I heard about someone dropping one into a lake.
It's like ads, Casey says: "when People turned in my Channel, I want them to See my cration not those ads". With 10 Million no need for clickbat anymore
Scooters are the best though all the old people who hate everything new that people come out with are going to mess it up for everybody who like the scooters
In San Diego, it is SO ANNOYING to have the scooters and bikes around! When people are done with them, they leave them in the middle of a sidewalk, on a street, and in other disruptive places which truly makes it inconvenient for everyone else.
This isn't a new thing. People have tied their bikes to lamp posts and left them everywhere. What is making it inconvenient is that everyone is using them now, but that's still better than another car in the horrendous traffic. If the city wants to fix the problem they should have posts for people to use on the sidewalks for them, and hand out fines if people leave them everywhere else. Except they're just being assholes and saying "don't do it" which won't work.
Max’s hatred for those scooters reaches an intensity that cannot be defined by any dictionary. On a brighter note, congrats on the Kevin Hart collab. 💪🏼💯
These are on every block in San Antonio. They charge a dollar to unlock and 15 cents every minute afterwards. We have the following brands: lime, Bird, blue duck, and razor; the razor scooters have a seat and a basket. I enjoy the scooters due to the fact that there is no underground system, it also keeps traffic down a little bit.
it's always a problem for ones who don't use it. Like pedestrians and cars, cars and bikes, bikes and rollers, rollers and pedestrians ;] if you in car or you pedestrian - you hate all :D
I think, if Casey would be asked to do a MASSIVE .. and I mean MMAASSSSIIVVEE Hollywood Movie, his only stipulation would be "I want an unlimited supply of snacks"
my boyfriend and I used birds on our trip to santa monica and found it very convenient. A quick way to get from our hotel to 3rd street or down town to get some food. They are kind of all over the place but the app trys to find ways to make it better, no-riding zones, no parking zones, slow speed zones etc.
@@tipico809 not a fan of the bikes but scooters catch on broken sidewalks and asphalt in ny more than in warmer places like dc and la where winters dont mess up the cement.
the haters are people that are too cool for scooters or don't know how to use them because if you ever rode one you know how cool they are yes fight the rule busters but don't ban the whole deal because lazy officials can't get with the program and right fare and honest laws
Casey's best themed vid to-date is his 2018 Valentine's dedication vid - 'A Love Letter To Candice'. It chronicles your drive, your sources of inspiration, your motivations and your legacy. It's a video that shows the 'Makings of You' (wish you included it).
Casey made several other videos like that "Love Letter To Candice" video years ago that were maybe even better such as: "My Girlfriend Candice" from 2013 and "My Kid and Me" from 2014.
