*the absolute **_only_** thing wrong with Casey’s videos is that I feel so motivated by what he does in a day that mid way through these videos I feel guilty that I’m sitting watching it* 😅
Loved the video Casey, so motivational! A year ago today I was playing volleyball and felt strange sensation in the back of my neck. I didn't think much of it at first but then I began to feel pain in the back of my neck and weakness in my arms and legs. Within 30 minutes I was paralyzed from the neck down and unable to breathe at all; thankfully I was in the hospital by then. I am still fully dependent on a ventilator to breathe and have no movement below my neck but it's wonderful to watch you and live vicariously through someone so spirited! Keep being awesome - David
Casey I saw almost all of your vlogs and videos, believe me this is the best one. Love you so much for all of inspiration, in sports, in video making and life in general.
Great episode Casey! I'm 270lbs obese, haven't run in so long but tonight that changes. You've inspired me to take that first step. Running one block will be my goal and so forth and so forth. Slowly, I will change my reality. Thanks for the inspiration man!
Matty Matt that’s awesome! sending all the support! remember even running 30 seconds then 45 seconds the next day is progress it’s okay if you start small!
Casey, you are the reason why I decided to JUST DO IT and sign up for the NYC marathon....then today, I felt discouraged about my 7 m training run....I watched this video and thought...why not just go out and enjoy it? 7.5 miles later....feeling awesome. you are incredible thanks for today and for the inspiration everyday
3 years later, still one of my favorite running videos from casey. You inspired me to run when I stopped after running a sub 20 min 5k. With that I will try to run a marathon by the end of the year. Thanks casey!
Hey Casey, thanks for this inspiring video, I’ve felt like I’ve been in a rut for such a long time doing the rudimentary day to day. You’ve helped me realize that I haven’t pushed myself in such a long time and now I know what I need to do each day. Push myself. “Unless you test yourself, you don’t know what you are capable of.” Thanks again!!!
one year in high school, (im a paraplegic) i told myself i was too old to ride the bus and should have been driving, i didnt want to ride the bus anymore so i told the driver she would no longer be driving me to or from school that i would just go in my wheelchair, so as stubborn as i was i did just that 4.3 miles to and from school for a whole year, honestly i wasnt sure if i could do it and i proved myself wrong while having people stop on the side of the road asking me if i needless to say i never took any of the offers and pushed only to have proved myself wrong, so that was 3.4 miles twice a day for 365 days +\- non school days
GAProd: Totally worth it bro, shaped your character for sure, i always push limits, but with much thought behind it, social constructs are very often BS if you step back and look at them from afar. Like for example you believing that you couldnt do the 4.3 miles when in reality it was very possible. Society is (sometimes very often) LAZY, dont believe the hype!
You are so incredible cool Casey - It would be absolutely awesome if you would join me on the POLAR CIRCLE MARATHON in 2019 - they call it The Coolest Marathon on Earth! All the best from Denmark:)
redauwg911 - oh thank you so much. That is really kind of you. I'm still a total beginner in making videos so a comment like this is really encouraging. I get so much inspiration from Casey and his ability to always tell a great story and to just be himself. In my world he is the RU-vid Gandalf 😄👍
I would love to see a 368 mile challenge. 14 Marathons is pretty close to 368 miles. You could do 368 miles in one month. I would join the challenge for sure!
halfway through this video when casey was talking about the rain at the beach i was surprised that he still didn’t go and then i get to the end and he still doesn’t give up on his run nor the beach casey honestly teaches me to never give in the most simplistic situations or situations of complexity, i love it !!
AMAZING! Congrats Casey on tackling your goal! You inspire everyday. Its because of you I started running three years ago. Started from struggling to do a mile to now about to tackle two upcoming marathons one month a part. If youre doing the NYC marathon, let us know!
For you doing the impossible is running 4 marathons in a 7 days. According to me doing the impossible is running 100m due to my physical condition. I was told at 21 I have a neurodegenerative disease, which might end up very bad in 5-6 years. Now I am 28, I lost my dad, I am going to graduate as MSc and I got accepted in one of the first University in the world for a PhD without even getting paid. They accepted my research proposal. They say, you can do your PhD and work to get money. Well, I don't have any money, and I am not sure to be able to do the PhD itself, but I accepted. All of this started with my dream. Doing research to help people with my disease in the near future, since its to late for me to change my situation. Casey, you are one hell of a man though. I admire your passion and attitude.
Man you movtivated me again what I’m like 20 and keep complaining about how tired i am and cannot workout or cannot do this that blah blah blah. You did it again. Thank you for making this videos🙏🙏
Casey if you Expect, Believe, and Say "I'm going to be depressed at the end of summer" You will be..... Maybe speaking out loud to yourself like "I'm going to find joy in spite of winter this year" could help turn it around :) Thanks for sharing, your my running hero bro!!
Nah, it's a thing that happens to people. Reduced sunlight and all that. The same thing happens to one of my best friends. He gets really down in the winter and when summer time rolls around, he starts feeling a lot better. It's literally due to less sunlight. It's probably even worse in New York than it is in California (we just have less daylight hours, they have rain and other crap to deal with).
SpecialAgent45, I'm not saying there are not other factors contributing. Photo sensitiveity is very real. When you say things yourself, those words have a powerful impact, because who do you believe more than yourself... Sometimes the best way to silence a doubtful inner voice is to speak out loud over the top of it with a confident outward one.
He's just saying he gets depressed because he can't run when there's a bunch of snow. He loves something so the lack of that thing makes him sad, makes sense.
Nicholas Major Nicholas Major he can't run as much because New York gets nice amounts of snow and ice so he can't run around in short and a short sleeve all the time he has to wait for it to be clearer and not all iced up, this also makes it harder to get around for work cause he can't ride his board and stuff so it takes longer to do things. Also I think that last part was very unnecessary buddy.
I'm about to be 34 in a few months. I've gotten a bit overweight over the last 10 years at 220lbs. I quit actually working out at 23. Working a night shift doesn't help. It's extremely hot in FL and I don't think it's smart to do a whole lot in the heat. However, I think you just inspired me to do more than a half hour a day on the treadmill. I'm going to start tomorrow after I get off work and push for 10 miles, and do it everyday after. Weight loss isn't the goal but is a welcomed effect. I was skinny at one time, thanks to cardio, four hours a day, for six months, going from 230 to 140 at 16 years old. Lets see if I can do it again.
KatsaPoBane goodluck brother, youve done it before, life happens, you can do it again, you have the mind power and the motivation, you got this! i'm on a month long backpacking trip in europe, day 4 and ive already feel like im down 10 lbs lol, lack of food/sleep/sweating heavily is probably not recommended but ive been walking about 10 miles a day in the heat best ive felt in about 4 years, been awhile since ive been active..
KatsaPoBane - I just made a healthy change in my life as well. I'm 27 and about 20 pounds overweight. That's not a ton I know but I want to get a cap on it before I'm 30. I started working daily alternating between cardio and body work each day along with eating *only* very healthy and natural foods. It's been quite a change but I've never felt better!! Best of luck to you on your journey my friend! :)
I love watching Casey's videos just because he always come up with new ideas , no copy at all like some wannabe youtubers do to get more viewers. keep doing the great job casey 🔥💓
“Do What You Can’t” That video really inspired me and this man is taking his own video, his own agenda, and going even further beyond that, Casey Neistat that is friggin awesome! Huge fan, new to your videos, already super into it.
great, but to run 15 miles daily for seven does not mean 4 marathons in 7 days. the last 5 miles in a marathon are much much harder then the rest of it.
Casey, you inspired me to run again! watching how much you enjoy it spured me on and now i run 4 times a week, started small but building over time and i love it!! Thanks you! Uckfield UK
I dunno how you do it Casey, but you managed to be such a big inspiration in my life. As a new RU-vidr i can’t help but thank you for being the amazing human being that you are. Keep doing you Casey. I try my hardest to make it on RU-vid because of what you taught me.
So... Casey. Your videos have inspired me to loose weight, and now I am under 200lbs (6ft tall) for the first in many many years. In addition, this video inspired me to take a late night walk which turned into a late night run for about 1 mile. That is nothing compared to you but the last time I felt good running like that was in HS in 1982! Many thanks.
Awesome Casey I always love how you balance everything in your life I can’t believe how you can do it cause I can’t Jezz your doing a lot of things I need to learn that man! Were about the same age how come I can’t do it man your not human and that’s a compliment believe me anyways lets go for another 10mil 👍👍👍
You're crazy Casey and that's what I love about you. I think you shouldn't be afraid of losing anything though and instead simply appreciate your body and challenge it just the way you did but without the fear of possible loss or ageing. Love u!
“Jenga Jenga Ja Ja Ja Jenga... You take a block from the bottom and you put it on top. You take a block from the middle and put it on top. That’s how you build a tower, you just don’t stop” Oh, does that bring back memories of childhood.
