And I will never ever forget the first time I saw one of these fascinating creations of mother nature.. sooooo like real hummingbirds.. but in perfect miniature form.. 💚🦋🐦 Such great pollinators, working day and night! Hats off to you for having the right plants in your garden to attract them, Andrea.. 👏👍 They are simply *mesmerising!*

Looks like moths to me. I didn’t know they existed before seeing in Colorado and it’s wild how much they fly like/look like hummingbirds! ETA: the ones I saw were striped like zebra or bees (can’t remember the colors)

I've seen the striped dudes too - Sphinx moths I think. These seemed a bit reddish but hard to tell for sure 🙏🏽

These are beautiful hummingbird moths, Andrea.. ❤ I never saw so many all at once! In my garden here in Italy I am thrilled when I see just one or two.. but they are of course more abundant in North America.. Hummingbird moths are smaller in size, at 1 to 2 inches long. Hummingbirds measure 3 to 4 inches long.. so quite a size difference.. Really enjoyed seeing this! 🥰🙋🏻‍♀️

Seeing so many at once is what really made me think they were hummingbirds! I've only seen one type of these moths several years ago. Hopefully they will come back this evening so I can try to get better video. I think they skip a day so the flowers have time to build up their nectar supply :)
