Are These MTG Mystery Boxes Worth Buying or a Scam? 

I got one box that had Dominaria Jumpstart boosters.

I got the same exact Promo Cards and game pieces

I opened one with a commander legends collector pack!

I have opened a few, and most of mine had 2 Kamigawa Collectors boosters

I had 2 kamigawa neon dynasty collector boosters which I need up with a out 50 bucks with of value and 3 new capenna draft boosters which whiffed but I got a card worth 3 bucks. The promos were worth 6 and the dice was a pleasant surprise because it was the black with purple lettering from wilds of eldraine.

So incredible lucky. Absolutely insane.

Yeah, just leftover product that they have to pull off the shelves to make room for new releases, so they just throw some packs in these bundles. I think the main reason so many people have been getting collector boosters from them is because they don't sell well at big box stores. Like, if I'm running errands at Walmart and pause to check the magic section, chances are pretty low I'm going to just drop $30 or whatever on a single collector booster. So they tend to just sit there until enough new sets come out that they need the shelf space. Obviously some sets also sold better than others/had more stock, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them more commonly be like the midnight hunt and march of the machine box. I've heard some folks getting jumpstart boosters or only draft and set boosters, so just be warned you might end up overpaying for some boosters in these.

If you want to keep him out of something just put a child lock on it.

I've seen a lot of these mystery box type products before, but this iteration actually seems to be pretty worth it (on average, your luck may vary)

@@ohyea456 All of them had two collector boosters and three draft/set boosters. The one from the previous batch had a Forgotten Realms collector booster, a Strixhaven collector booster (which had a couple of Japanese cards for some reason), a New Capenna set booster, and two Zendikar Rising draft boosters. The 3 I bought from the most recent batch had: 2 Midnight Hunt collector boosters (I actually did get Meathook Massacre yay) and 3 Lost Caverns of Ixalan set boosters, 2 New Capenna collector boosters (got a couple of triome lands but not much else worthwhile) and, I think, 3 LCI draft boosters, and finally 2 Baldur's Gate collector boosters (got Ancient Silver Dragon) and I don't remember what set boosters, New Capenna possibly.

Yeah, definitely not all created equal, but it does seem like they more often are better value than not. 5 bad jumpstart packs is pretty rough though

I’ve got a friend who uses one to represent the token copy of Ob Nixilis, the Adversary.

I use them to seperate my decks in boxes

Yup, heard reports of the bad jumpstart boosters in these already, so buyer beware that you may majorly overpay for boosters. It's definitely a gamble.

Fat Packs

They are just super old card boxes from the 90's. I got them with a collection a long time ago and kept them around because they look cool.

Ooh yeah, always check the packaging of magic product at big box stores. The amount of theft that happens is absurd, and a lot of times the thieves just leave the empty package right there on the shelf, and it's not always obvious that its been opened.

You want MORE packaging in these wasteful things?

It's definitely to sell off extra stock that's no longer really wanted it seems
