These new RGB tube lights from Came-tv are very interesting. I was surprised at the many things I found I enjoyed but also equally found things I did not enjoy or struggled with. Hopefully this review helps you out in knowing if these tube lights are a fit for you!

Great video...I didn't know much about 'tube lights'. I probably won't buy these (I can't afford them!) but it'll give me something to study to improve myself. You really are a fantastic person. I like the utility of those magnetic quarter 20’s. How in the world has the DIY HACKS community not thought of that before?! I know what my next video is gonna be about haha 😛

There is a type of magnetic mounting kit called the Androokie that they make for other more professional and expensive RGB tube lights like Asteras. It’s been done.

Nice review! By the way Completely different topic - I know that you shoot videos handheld sometimes. Have you used a focus puller ? If so, would you be able to make a video about that ?

I do shoot handheld, it has a nice look. I personally don't own a focus puller, I've used one once or twice on some shoots. I found many have lil issues, so if I find one I like I'll def do a video :D

Really nice review, of course. These seem pricey for Came. They are usually more budget conscious. I am surprised at the prices. I personally do not have a use for these types of lights (narrative film), especially in RGB. Of course I will never say "never." I can imagine stylistic purposes for the lights, but I have yet to be on such a project. Does the quality of the lights (build quality, function, etc.) seem to be on par with other such lights at this price point?

They do feel a bit pricey, but I imagine it's because barndoors are included with the lights. To be fair, I bought an Amaran T2c for over $200 and it has some of the same features (no barndoors included) these lights have. So, I'd say it's pretty on par, just needs some improvements in the app and remote control areas

Fascinating review for some interesting lights, but ultimately a shame that the most important part of them doesn’t quite work : controlling them. i’ll definitely be steering clear of these when I need tube style RGB lights. Thank you for the review.

For tube lights I've liked and found easy to use, Amaran. App is amazing and all the attachment points are super useful

@@FellowFilmmaker I was going to ask if you’d tried the Amrans. Their prices are more my budget. I have picked up a nanlite t8-7x on sale for $76 that I’m happy with though it does compromise to get to that price point.

shame it doesn't have DMX, the barn doors it comes with seem really nice, and the mounting is really well thought out. The wifi issues just sound like the reason I refuse to control lights with apps.

If you make a good enough instruction manual and connection path, your customers shouldn’t need to contact you to figure out how to use your product.
