Wow this was such an impressively detailed and well thought out comparison. Would be cool to see something like this comparing the Vcore 95/98/100, because literally every other review out there pretty much limits to saying more powerful for 100, more controlled for 95, and 98 in between... which is really obvious and not useful.

Man, you speak fluid and clearly, that's a pleasure to watch your vids. Make me want to try them. I've read the percept was way stiffer and firmer Tha my beloved all green 2019 version (a bit like the gravity tour which lead me to shoulder surgery). Thanks again for your great reviews, never seen better!

Thank you so much, feedback like this is always appreciated, really nice to hear! Sorry to hear about the shoulder issues, it’s definitely firmer than most “Vcore pro” rackets in recent times. So you may have problems but it’s worth a demo if you can.

Hi Luca, I've been a customer for 20 odd years! Really glad to see that you're making great reviews with footage of all the gorgeous tennis courts around Vancouver. I was wondering if you could do a comparison of the RF97 Autograph and the Percept 97H (and maybe others you think might be relevant). Seeing as it seems that the RF97 is going out of circulation, a lot of us need a potential replacement! Thanks and keep up the great reviews!

Please share string setup each video - what was tested (string, gauge, tension) and what you typically play. I've found frames like the (Pure Aero VS for example) to be extremely picky with string setup whereas the 2023 Pure Aero 100 is great with almost anything. It helps to to know what setup you're reviewing should we want to demo. Also - please share the mods in place as there was visible lead tape. That also makes a huge difference - particularly with a 95 which can be super low twist weight and unstable without mods (specifically thinking of the all red, 2018 Vcore 95) Beyond that - I've enjoyed your videos.

With the Vcore 95 I get a lot flatter shots with less bounce compared to when I play with a 98. The control is amazing with the 95, beat ever but you have to play and hit the ball like you meant it. There’s no in between when playing that Raquet. The 95 demands a lot I would say. Since I hurt my elbow and shoulder I now play with Head extreme tour 98 and it’s a lot more forgiving. More free power and a lot more spin and the cost of a little lesser control. My plan is to come back and play with the vcore 95 again but not for a while. When going up to 100sq inch head size racquets I don’t like playing with the 16x19 pattern because I lack control. There for if it’s a 100 head size I like a more denser string pattern such as 18x19 or 18x20 like the Head speed pro or the Wilson blade Serena edition with 18x19. Cheers for the video keep it coming 🎊🍻🍻

Hi Luca, Throwing in a question here in the hope that you still have the time to answer comments on older videos: How would you compare the Vcore 95 vs Pure Aero 98, and for which level/playing style would you recommend the two? I am around 4.0 NTRP and play with the Aero 98. I like it for the most part, but looking at this review I got really excited about the Vcore 95. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2 месяца назад
Both are 4.0 plus level rackets IMO. The Vcore 95 definitely has a smaller sweet spot so it's a bit more precise, not quite as forgiving and very similar in terms of spin. The Aero 98 has it beat in power though.

I am using a PS97 V13 using RPM blast at 55lbs , I tested Vcore95 same string and tensin some months ago... Was difficult to me to use it because I did not find the feel and I was disconnected to the ball.. However my spin was like crazy. I am considering to give it a shot again, maybe 57lbs. What do you think? Or do you think I should give a shot to the percept?

This might be a dumb question. You emphasized the silicone oil infused grommets on the vcore. And my vcore has went through around 10 stringing jobs and the grommets are a little chewed up. Should I replace the grommets or at least reapply the silicone oil for maximum performance?
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 11 месяцев назад
I like where your head is at. First of all I don’t think you can reapply the silicone oil, so if you did notice a drop off in spin you’d have to replace the grommets. But, I would only do that if you’ve noticed a difference in playability, so don’t worry if they’re just a bit chewed up.

Thinking about using the vcore 95 because the stability is outstanding and the smaller head size help me to focus more when hitting the one hand backhand. My hitting partner/ teacher is a very high level player in my country should be around ATP 1000-1300 and we go at each other quite hard when playing, but i do quite getting bully around the court with the blade98 so is the stability of the 95 helps me or its too demanding in your opinion. If you want a Yonex racket, go for any of their 100s as they are more geared to that level.

how these compared to ezone 98?
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 4 месяца назад
They are quite different; these are more precision based control rackets whereas the Ezone 98 is a true hybrid power/control/spin frame.

I love vids like these - great to see the rackets in use. But I'm a bit confused on one point ... you say that the Percept 97 is the most spin friendly racket you've ever used but it just can't compare to a spin monster like the Vcore 95. Surely that means the Vcore 95 is the most spin friendly racket you've ever used?? (Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult - just genuinely confused ... if only because I actually listened to what you had to say 😉) I haven't played for 15 years and just getting back into it - I'm on an old Ultimum RD Ti80 - high tension, thin gauge ... the racket literally "pings" on every hit 🤣🤣🤣🤣I love the spin but stability is lacking when it comes to doubles-games and volleying at the net... maybe I need a different racket for those games! I've considered lower tension but then I don't like the compromise in pin-point accuracy ... line shots are my guilty pleasure :) My challenge is that I have plenty of power. I'm a lazy player so I don't have a full back-swing - although do punch through the ball and smacking it back to base-line is no problem at all. I LOVE spin and if anything, I hit the ball out of the court. I'm using a semi-western grip just because a full-western ends up with frame-hits ... not even into the net ... they hit the concrete way before the net!!!! I'd really appreciate your thoughts as to which racket and string tension / gauge to go with. (Although, to be fair, I suspect that the problem isn't with the racket but with the player foot-work, body position, timing, etc., ...)
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 6 месяцев назад
Thank you! As for the confusion, the Percept 97 is certainly not the most spin friendly racket I've ever used but it's impressively spin-friendly for a racket that is so controlled. The Vcore 95 is a true "spin racket" so despite the Percept having great spin, it's still less than the Vcore. I think you should try the Percept. Sounds like it will help you with control but still give you plenty of spin. As for strings, give something sharp and spin-friendly a shot (Hyper G 17 is a great string/gauge.)

I’ve played with the last three versions of the VCore. They all lack any feel and are essentially like playing with a baseball bat. Control? I don’t think so.

@@Shankar-Bhaskar A “two by four” or “2x4”, is a piece of wood which is cut 2inches by 4inches and is used to construct things like houses or fences, etc. when you say something “feels like a two by four”, it means it feels like your hitting with a large piece of wood. Hence, “no feel”. Understand?

Great review! I switched from the Vcore 95 to the PA98 simply because of the slightly better consistency of the PA, as well as the crispness at net. The VC95 was *such* a fun racket to use though, insane on serve
