He looks a lovely pooch Des, pleased for you. I almost acquired a Malinois myself about 4/5 years ago, my situation wasn’t ideal at that time and i have lamented it ever since. He was a lovely dog too.
Rocky's a lovely dog. I've had a few "Devil Dogs" A Doberman, Belgian Shepherd, a Japanese Akita and a rescue Rottweiler who'd lick you to death. No such thing as bad dogs only bad owners. Rescue dogs need love, space and time. The most aggressive I've known was a Jack Russell- he really had small man syndrome..lol...😅😂 a right little bugger. Happy trails with Rocky Des.
There was one at the farm I was horse, dog and cat sitting for a friend...the owner of the farm across from my friends ...his name was Concorde...beautiful dog, all he wanted was his sticks. Onlyfault with him at the farm was when the guns were shooting deer etc...he wanted to chew the rifles and shotguns. For me, he was a lovely boy and just wanted to play. Youve got a good dog there mate 👍👍👍
Beautiful Dog 🐕 I'd love to have a dog, but I just couldn't give the commitment they need. Rocky is a proper looking dog though, you won't fit him in your handbag mate 😂
Hi there, just subscribed, been following you for a while-saw the dog and clicked on the video because I thought that looks exactly like my dog :). I have a Dutchie , she had her first litter about a year ago, from the GSD father (Scout), who is a lovely boy, about six years old. You have a lovely boy there-I can't imagine a dog with more intelligence than my Dutch herder-they are not for the faint-hearted:). She wants to play or exercise all day, and if possible, all night :). She has been an incredible mum-the pups were/are all incredible. I would say, if you want a Dutch Shepherd, be prepared for mayhem, get loads of tug, chew, fetch and throw toys, and be prepared to use them:). Have a great time with your Herder, they truly are fantastic-I think you are right-there are a lot of videos saying these are not to be trifled with-personally, it looks to me like you have a brilliant dog, an amazing bond, which I can promise you will only increase-they have an indomitable spirit, which you will be amazed by for a very long time:). Could go on for ages:)
Top Man ,nice to glimpse ya at the Show Keep on that Toms a Para nuff said you wont go wrong ...Rocky can drag you on a training harness Man & Dog fitness RAF Police favorite . Dog .....Wilderness
I'm with you mate , Dutch would have been a cracking name. I see Rocky more for Bull dog's, staffs, boxer's, you no all the flat face breeds. I'm sure by now Rocky works fine for you, great dogs. Bad dog, bad owner , good dog good owner in my experience.👍🏻
Dutch Shepherds are great dogs (as are the Belgian Shepherds) but every dog is different. There are hyper -types with high eneregy, which require a lot of physical & mental activity & there are others who are more layed back, wth medium energy & make excellent pets & companions. It isn't because a certain breed is used for work, that every individual of that breed has a working mentality. I wouldn't take too much notice of RU-vid videos of these breeds ether, as they are highly focused on the spectacular & can give a misleading image of the breeds, just lke they did with pitbulls 10 or 15 years ago. It's too soon yet to judge his real personality as he is still working out his new enviroment but your buddy looks like a well balanced dog & if his reactions to strangers & other dogs are "normal" then you shouldn't have much trouble with him & kudos to his previous owners who socialised him. I envy the journey you 2 are starting out on together. 👍
