Made me smile there seeing Rocky run toward the tarp. He knew he'd been there before 😀 Nice to know the tarp is relatively safe there and pre-cut wood is only a short distance away for you. I didn't say that about you, did I? 😂
Nice to see out Des,also Rocky the Recycler 😂 good idea to train him to fetch dry wood while you chat? Hope the tarp area becomes an untouched base, also that scrub on face? Winter’s coming 😊
Wow, Hats off that's a lot of essential kit in a Matilda, I'm constantly battling for compressed kit at an affordable price to cover all aspects when camping with the scouts on Leader training courses and my fishing expeditions. bad enough fish which I have narrowed down to a fine T, but camping still presents its challenges. especially when you combine all with a boat at all its paraphilia and a second person. its a hard challenge but in fairness you have it well tuned down, plenty of positives to take from this vid, Much appreciated thanks for sharing!
Hi mate Personally I didn't get on with it , I used it for hadrians wall, I was carrying around 50lbs weight but it never felt comfortable. If you fancy pulling the plug on one I'm selling mine complete with side pouches 👍
Give us the name of your barber so I can give him a wide berth. 🤦♂️ I've still got four Mutts and they're all getting older and I have no intention of replacing them as someone else said in a comment down below, 'they regained their freedom'. I do love dogs, but they do tie you down if you want to travel. I'd need to tie Rocky to a tree as he is so full of energy, he would wreck any setup. I was half expecting your brew to go flying.
That fish looked the business, but I can only afford Fish Fingers. The ring pull and the widget inside could be useful bits for your Heath-Robinson fishing rod. ATVB. Robert. 😉👍
@@descattysBushcraftbydescattys I might have missed a video, but you talked about your fire gel (soap mixed with something), but my question is, how did you get it into a used Toothpaste tube? Cheers.
Nice idea good to have a den to escape to now and then man some last ages some last few days just the roll of the dice man, do you have a video showing the way this tarp was made? im intrigued all the best Ryan
Regular exposure and patience is key mate. My cattle dog is only 18 months now and she's just starting to calm down a bit. She still thinks every stick in the woods is hers, including the ones on the fire! She also has to dig a hole every time we stop and if there's a fallen tree, climb up it to the point where she's dangerously high up! It's all about trying to get my attention I think. I've decided that while she's still young, there's certain things we can do together and others where I leave her at home. Hiking, Nav, tracking, stalking she loves but attempting to sit quietly by the fire and craft something wouldn't be a relaxing trip out for me :-)
Thanks for commenting Joe Yeah i hear , i will take him out but on my terms. So agree that sometimes when i plan to practice certain skills it becomes more a stressful experience for both parties really. But i will continue the journey.
I know each bag is unique to the person, it all depends on what you find you like to take. As a survivalist though, i find you are carrying a ton of stuff you do not need. i wouldnt like to be lugging your gear around personally. You havent left yourself room for a decent sleeping bag, no decent sleep/roll mat barely any water storage. You have purely a summer loadout that wont go much further than warm weather. I like to pack with essentials only, and have my loadout designed to be used in most weather and english temperatures. I do like your mods and individual pouches for organisation.
I've not got the patience to own a dog so I do the right thing and don't own one , you've got to be honest with yourself, not to say I don't like dogs.
Fair play to you Des, dogs are a definite long term commitment. My wife and I had an Alaskan Malamute for 13 years, she passed 2 years ago and now we both realise what difference our life has become, we have found freedom again, we do not need to worry about a dog, we can go wherever we want, whenever we want and for as long as we want without the hassle of a dog, we have regained our freedom. We do not regret having Kia but we do appreciate what we have regained, freedom.
You're enjoying yourself and that's all that matters 👌🏻 when using wood for cooking it's safer to use only Sycamore as it is non toxic and safe, other woods are questionable 👍🏻
Funny how Dags are, with women, when working I was always up first so I fed and watered at let dag out for a pee ect and I was the one that always walked the beast, but if wife was around, as far as the dag was concerned I didn't exist
There can only be one Alpha as you know. Give him a good ragging to let him know who the Daddy is 😉👍🏼 As you say though, he is still in his teen years and testing his Master. All of a sudden he will come around... you hope. We (me and you) have/had Terriers, and they are the same 😆 Word of advice. Once you have had a good growth of facial hair, never shave it off,,, ever. You'll look like a paedo. I was told that once and shaved mine off and I looked like a paedo 🤣
Lots of patience Des,sure you’ll get Rocky keeping you warm in the tent? Till next stay safe, let’s hope winter doesn’t come early 😮 Surely good balaclava will replace hair loss 😂
