When upside down, the 3D printed cap will not leak because the water itself will help make the seal. Kind of like those 2L bottle pet waterers. Only when the water level gets below the opening will it let any air in and water out.

I wonder if one could find some rubber o-rings to fit around the jug and make the neck of the 3D printed cap taller to fit over the o-ring 🤔

Of course a plastic 3d printed cap is gonna leak. why not compare it with a real competitor?
