So glad to hear this before purchasing, because no way I'm spending over $600+ for a slide that is not comfortable. I don't care who makes it...NOT! And I've heard a lot of reviews talk about "needing to break them in." Nope, I need my slides comfortable from day 1, and especially for the price.
I'm with you, I sold mine. I bought the Oasis first and thought it was the calfskin so I bought the Oran in goatskin. I even put on socks and wore them around the apt to try to break them in. I live in city and walk a lot but I wasn't even going far and I had to put bandaids on 5 places. I gave up after that. These are flats! But they are heavy and just not flexible.
Mine are definitely better now i've used a shoe stretcher in them but yes still heavy and not flexible I much rather cheaper shoes that are comfortable to walk long distances in
I have the same sandals. I have high arches so I got sandal gel inserts and I use moleskin under the front strap to protect my pinkie toes and it works so well.
That’s an awesome recommendation thanks for that, yeah the pinky toe is where it rubs on me. It’s a shame for something so expensive that we need to alter it still to make it comfortable. I ended up buying wooden shoe stretchers off eBay to help me with the wear in process and it’s definitely helped
I just got mine and had to size up . That solved it. The leather is too narrow at my regular size! That solved it for me. It took us a few tries to know that was the solution . Sorry to hear about your experience !!
Hi Kyle yes I think you might be right I need a bigger size and especially in Australia it gets very hot and your feet can swell making them tighter. Which country do you live in? That’s great that worked for you, if i ever buy more i will definitely size up 😃
All the stretching on the shoes and the other issues make me believe you should have sized up. I’ve actually size up a full size in my Oasis Sandals, I believe it would be the same in the Oran. I have an high foot arch and I don’t think the flat Oran are going to be comfortable for me. They are shoes, so regardless of the brand or price they should be comfortable, I’ve sold or donate all my shoes that I couldn’t wear in.
Good video, I have 2 and find them great BUT I needed to go half size up! First I thought my regular size is fine because a half size up was a tiny bit long but in after walking with both sizes around in the store I noticed in my regular size also a bit of pain and it was not even summer so my feet weren’t swollen. Going a half size up was the best decision, so comfy!
I’ve actually heard this from another commenter and your totally right I definitely need half a size bigger and will do if I decide to purchase more in the future. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment 😄
Hi Billie, I apply some olive oil at the back of my covered shoes to lessen the abrasion. Since you have already sticked foam pads on your oran, u can apply some olive oil on them too. Just let them soak in. U might have to apply them multiple times. Trust me, a slightly greasy feet is better than blisters. Any questions, please reply to this comment :)
That’s awesome advice for everyone watching! Thank you. I recently watched a video that recommended using moisturiser to areas that rub so I tried it with my new Golden Goose sneakers ( I also did a video on them if your interested here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2AjsyNrKlG4.html ) the moisturiser obviously works the same as the olive oil and it’s really helped with wearing in the sneakers so I’ll definitely try it on the orans! 😉☺️
@@billiexluxury yeah I really didn't wanna smear olive oil at the back of my heels. Especially the expensive ones. But nothing works better. I tried everything and I also looked stupid with 3/4 handiplast hanging off my feet. I am back to using olive oil after 20 yrs of trial and error. Now I dun care how expensive those shoes are. I smear them on.
@beatrizsandoval4395 Hi, I apply to the shoe. If you want to be extreme, u can apply it overnight, let it soak in, before you wear them, apply again. No hard and fast rules. But this will not eliminate problems like badly fitted shoes, or shoes that are too tight.
I’m with you. I bought mine in May and they are so painful and give me blisters every single time I wear them. I have to put bandaids all the time and even like that my toes hurt and get red. I get the pressure and rubbing exactly on the places you described. I regret buying them so much. The leather is so stiff and no matter how much I wear them because is 2 months of constant wear they are still stiff and painful.
Fendi: Baguette slides are painful. I have owned mine for two years and they still rub against my toes. Also, they have a wood heel that clunks hard against the floor so people can hear you coming a mile away. Hermes Oran: foot slides directly forward with no support. I have narrow feet and I find that these slides are not flattering at all. I have worn them once and regret it. I should have sold them immediately or sent them back. Hermes has no other value then their handbags, without them I truly feel they would have went bankrupt as a company. Saint Laurent Tributes: These have to be my favourite. Understated and classic. They fit true to size and are more my style.
Thank you for your detailed review that was really helpful as I have never tried the YSL tribute slides or the Fendi. Im also interested in the Dior Dway slides but it is winter here in Australia so too cold to wear them for the next few months anyway. Omg the wood heel clunking on the floor would be the worst!!
Agreed for my foot to have any support from the straps of the orans i would have to size down at least one size and they are still uncomfortable. I will stick with the tributes and jimmy choos
This is helpful; thanks! Curious do you have the Chanel sling back? I find them so painful to wear and wanted to know if anyone else has that experience
I don’t have them but I literally just read comments on a post on fb where someone said they look so nice but are really painful so maybe your not the only one
Hi Billie, I bought the oran sandals when I was at the paris airport. Got them at a good price. But will I pay full price for these? Arrrggghhh this is a tough one. To date I have worn them 7 times. The first 3 times it felt like hell. The leather was abrasive but no blisters. I applied a kind of foot lubricant else I could never get thru this so many tines. I hope by the time I reach 10 times, they will soften. Those people whom didn't have to break in, u gotta be kidding me. Lol
Hi Billie, I am so disappointed for you 😢 I have to admit mine are stiff and I’m still wearing them in. I bought mine online and when I received them, I walked around on the carpet. They immediately got a crease! I have not worn mine long enough to get a blister but my feet are narrow so fingers crossed I don’t get a blister 🤞
I have wide feet so you might be ok if yours are narrow. I know hey you wear them around to try but then they crease. You'll have to let me know how you go wearing yours in and when they start feeling a bit more comfy 😀
Hi Suzanne I ended up buying a shoe stretcher and heating them up with my hair dryer and leaving the stretcher in for a few days at a time and it’s helped a bit. I have worn them more but find I only last max 2hr before they get uncomfortable so at least I get some wear out of them
