I just returned a rental V6 Charger GT and i loved it. Man it looked sweet and for a V6, i must say it has plenty of go . The V6 back in the day are nothing to the ones the manufacturers are coming out with now. They put out as much as the late 90s early 00s V8s did.
Exactly. So if you’re not the type to be knee deep in the racing scene it just don’t make sense to by a V8. 20-30k more for low gas mileage and an exhaust note. I have a brand new one and most ppl call it a hellcat just to show you how outta touch the general public is.
I have a v6 camaro. Loved dodge v6s, but when I felt the power of the camaro, I was sold. Neck and neck with r/t hemi v8s up until 110mph but if you like the space dodge wins. Just procharge it
@sunnysgreyarea2522 these hoes don't care what engin in your charger lmao. Only gonna impress other men. Gotta pay more gas, more insurance. Crazy. It's are o ly 2 secs faster. Gotta go big or go hike if you go v8. I never see scat owners talking trash. Only rt people
Muscle car heritage is all about V8 power...but at the end of the day, it's about power and performance. A V6 will never have the girthy growl of a V8, but it's absolutely capable of big power, and it saves weight. So from a performance point of view...don't overlook a capable 6 cylinder!
One of my favorite cars is the Grand National, so V6 engines have potential. Its all about what you're willing to spend. There isnt a whole lot of off the shelf parts but theres always the custom route
All I’m saying is that I’m having fun with my gutted supercharger v6 challenger and I don’t even put it to stage 2 yet, I’m at 510hp now and on only on 10 psi. A YT guy named Shedder v6 got it to 600whp at 19 psi. Best starter build
@@grim6110 The supercharged kit and other bolts on like a light weight crank pulley, port manifold, 80mm throttle body, performance coils and light wheels and of course you got to get custom tune. No forged internal needed until you wanted to pass 12 psi.
Those were rebadged Mitsubishi’s The conquest is a Starion and the stealth is a 3000GT they should bring back the intrepid on the rear wheel drive lx platform ( which was developed out of the intrepid’s front wheel drive LH platform ) with the Hurricane six ( it would be a neat sports sedan)
I can't complain, i have one in the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L 3 row and I gotta say this thing moves comfortably at highway speeds of 110mph (dont tell the wife) and it tows 6000lbs (not my numbers but Jeep). These 3.6L engines has good balance of performance and efficiency. Will end up superchargering hopefully in the next year. Already reach out to a few companies about kits for my exact vehicle.
I have a 2015 3.6L V6 and i’m looking to put an exhaust, turbo, bigger air cooler and maybe some body kit but I don’t know to what shop to take it to here in PA
But what you can do is buy a V6 charger or challenger stack your money and swap it out with a 5.7,6.4, or even the 6.2 drivetrain so you really can build your own R/T , scat pack or hellcat it's all plug and play. they'll fit without a issue because they share the same platform and plus you can spend less on insurance cause its concidered a "V6"
He actually has a video or a couple of em about doing exactly what you're talking about. You obviously need to upgrade brakes and suspension also but it sounds like from what everyone says that they do pretty much just plug and play. Kinda makes me wish I kept my 300
After driving all the v6s and base hemis as well as the fusion eco boost i agree the eco boost platform gets Hella disrespect and im working on mine. Im retiring it from meets after this season and it wont be back out until its all the way done and ready to take respect by force.
Buick went from one of the baddest 455 stage one big block v8's to 3.8litre turbo v6 so yeah there's potential. But i think a smaller displacement 8 cylinder might be in the works. Maybe a 5.0 to 5.7 with around 450+ horsepower .
Man id kove to see another DOHC V8 running around. Im a GM or Toyota guy myself but those modular ford engines had so much more to offer and the potential they have with the mid range torque you get has always made me want to see an updated or improved DOHC v8 engine. It makes me wish for my own shop and tools hell i would design it myself. Trust me its not the first time it's crossed my mind.
I have a 2020 3.6 charger that has 32k on odometer and is making metal in the filter every oil change . The oil filter system allows the oil to drain out of all the oil galleys after an hour or so. Dry starts are killing her. WAS planning so major power mods but think I’m gonna trade out of it
I got one of these pen engines in my 22 300 i wish the aftermarket for these engines was bigger or im just not looking hard enough any suggestions on where too look for engine mods would be great
I've beat rt chargers in my 2015 3.6 200c and went up against a civic type R it was dead even the Civic pulled away after I hit the governor at 120 but with just a ported intakes throttlebody and k&n
I had a 2013 200 limited with the 3.6 vvt and on E85 it made every bit of 300 HP to the wheels. I really enjoyed that car. Had enough power to get up n go but still got good fuel economy.
I’ve smoked 3 mustangs in my 3.6 with a 93 tune at 355 whp and have even beat a ram 1500, V6s aren’t bad, people love to put a stigma on them when everyone forgets that Japan makes 6 cylinders that will walk a V8, aka a GTR walks a Cat, mustang you name it
Ive been messing with the idea of a twin twin turbo V6 Challenger with a 6-speed manual swap that are found in the Wranglers. Since the Pentastar is smaller. Not only does it weigh less, but it can fit most of its weight behind the front axle (which the aftermarket does make poly bushings to push both the Pentastar and Hemi further back.) Using the weight saving tricks from Scavenger1320, i estimate a rough weight reduction to 3300-3400 lbs. While still being heavy, it definitely sounds like a fun time seeing a big boat taking corners (im in it for the comedy.)
@invalidusername_5101 depends on where you're standing. For example, the most comparable to this idea is the Bentley Continental GT3 racecar, not only being the biggest car homologated for the class, but also known to be on the heavy side at 2866 lbs... and that's a racecar equipped with a roll cage and all the safety equipment required. In the road car side of things, the mk4 Supra with the turbo version is also criticized for its weight at 3400-3500 lbs depending on options, and that's with a full interior. But for a Challenger, 3300 lbs is indeed light compared to what we're used to.
I'm so glad you posted this bro! Currently working on a v6 Charger build, but its a 2010 3.5L V6. Upgraded the air intake and I'm going to touch the exhaust next. Not sure how far I'll go with it but its a fun project.
Your intake is only an upgrade if it's a legit cold air intake with the intake far from the engine or covered off to get cool air. If you have one of those $200 intakes from the internet your actually losing a lot of low end torque. Which is the last thing you want since v6s don't make alot of torque to begin with.
I have a 2019 Dodge Charger SXT and I know it’s not a GT or higher but I LOVE it. I want to at least add 60 horsepower to it. Can I please have some suggestions? I would appreciate it…
That's dodge problem tho too many damn trims...they should've started with GT awd only...then R/T only then Skat SRT then Hellcat....all that sxt sxt plus gt gt plus shit was dumb tbh if you making sxt make them rental cars...this why kia struggled with the stinger too many trims for 1 engine...2.0 stinger was garbage the 2.5L is way better but too late...when kia offered the scorpion trim they should've gave it more hp at 55k instead of adding blackout shit for 5k more from the gt2 trim
I love my V6 2021 challenger, so far I have a Borla Catt Back exhaust system, Mopar cold air intake system with the headlight intake tube and 245 front and 275 rear tires and am loving it, am not gonna lie I have driven the Scat Pack Challenger and their is no substitute for a great V8 but I have to say I have just as much fun in my V6 and unless I run into a scat, 5.0 or any other fast car I am usually faster than most cars on the highway, am still planing on getting a Sprintex Supercharger and a good tune and if I can afford it maybe change the diff and trans. The most I have seen someone get out of the V6 Pentastar without forced induction is about 350 to the wheel which is not bad, the only problem I think the Pentastar suffers from is torque.
Lol the closed captions kept saying Pencil Stars instead of penta star. Jokes aside. I have a v6 and a v8 challenger. Both are fun to drive, but I was thinking of doing a twin turbo build on the v6 rather than a supercharger.
@@skinnyboyy lol what do u think ppl do when they buy a R/T or a Scatpack genius nd why waste your money on adding all this money on a car in general in u not profiting off it !!!
When I think of a desirable V6 I think of the 350z and 370z. Something just doesn't sit right with me when I see a V6 challenger that has such skinny tires all the way around and no rumble. If they do go V6, they should make something more aerodynamic and it would fit perfectly in my mind. Like maybe changing the dodge Dart body style to something more sporty and wide.
I think Dodge Should partnership with Yamaha made legendary 4.4L Supercharged V8 engine 400 Horsepower for Volvo XC90 and S60 and S80 I can't believe Yamaha 4.4L Supercharged V8 engine used on ebay $600-$1,000 sleeper engine, Volvo XC90 2007-2012 4.4L Yamaha V8 engine and Volvo S80 4.4L Yamaha V8 2007-2012 , Yamaha also made legendary Toyota J2Z engine and Ford Taurus 1997-1999 V8 engine from Yamaha, Yamaha has great engines , Yamaha and Toyota making a hydrogen Hybrid V8 engine .
Alot of Mopar guys are in a mixed boat right now, and even a guy like me who just turned 29 a week ago, I been fan of Dodge since I was around 5 or 6 years old and I know alot of about the oil crisis from the the 70s, and the horrible takes of 2nd gen dodge challenger and 4th and 5th gen Chargers, and the rise and fall of the Dodge Viper
Coming from a true mopar guy they need to make a modern day version of the a925 hemi that were in development in the 60s it was a dohc hemi that was meant to compete with ford's sohc in Nascar if it got approved by Nascar but since the sohc was banned Chrysler stopped development of the engine so I think with with smaller displacement and newer tech the hemi could still exist but they are just being lazy here and not giving the people what they want and that's a v8 muscle car
@704OMEN I mean I get where you are coming from but with a new dohc hemi the current body trim would still sell like hot cakes and they could put doing a new body trims for charger and challenger on the back burner until they design something the people really want like a modern version of a 69 charger or a smaller chassis for a new challenger/cuda so it'll be lighter and more competitive with the pony cars from the other brands
Speaking from a money standpoint it just makes no logical sense they stop making Hemis. Like it jsut doesnt, these things damn near fly off the shelves. so. I lowkey believe, they're using this to sell a bunch last minute, before coming out with a completely redesigned HEMI and being like "gotcha" or soemthing
Shit, my Dodge Journey V6 STOCK smokes allot of other vehicles out there. Imagine if you upgraded it. Even when the cylinder head was leaking and throwing a misfire code it was stomping allot of V8's 😂
Me personally there is no such thing as a v6 muscle car!! N I would never ever buy one!!! But that ecoboost is different. The amount of power they getting out of those engines is crazy. But I still couldn’t do a muscle car without a v8!!
The direction dodge needs to go is making a big ass dohc v8 on boost 🤣. This way they can last a few more years and beat the shit out of the gen 4 coyote as it should be. But they won’t.
I think that dodge never really tried with the pentestar because on paper it was right behind the 5.7 300hp vs 370hp I bet you could easily get one to 350hp NA
Dodge should just stick with Dodge things! Keep the HEMI V8, yes I know Dodge pays out the ass in fines from these gas guzzlers, but keep something the true fans want. That big V8!
Do all this ev and inline 6 crap is like reliving the era of the 80s in which most muscle cars of that era were crap box on wheels andn only a few standout which were the firebird, Camaro, the stang and the GNX. They have to find another company just like you stated or build an entire different v8 like a hybrid or hydrogen v8 to bring back that hard core audience. We are not trying to go back to the boring wanna be failed jdms Dodge era from the 90s to early 2k, we want the natural muscle sound and power back.
Yoo!! Dodge is no longer marketing to the old farts!!! They have a new customer base that’s 100% tech babies. The new customer don’t care about a V8. Ik it hurts… but say goodbye
@@melvyn1798 you can crawl with a older v8 like a new edge or 3valve but instead I see ppl in 2021 and up ecoboost mustang Camaros and v6 challenger/chargers .the gas you would spend on the v8 wouldn’t even come close to what they paid for their newer ecoboost/v6 annually.
I have v6 challenger I’ll stay with my beautiful v6. GAS IS NOT ON ARE SIDE AND IM NOT SPENDING A PRETTY PINNY ON GAS FOR S STUPID V8 challenger nahh I’ll stick to v6 plz and thank u 😂
Y’all don’t much about cars do yall ? That why yall feelings be hurt that them 4 cylinders whooping hellcats the new Benz and Audi are 4 cylinders pushing 600-700 horse power, hellcat not even fucking with Camaros and most of them are v6
