Twin-Turbo Hurricane-Powered Dodge Challenger Drag Pak 

Looks like we have finally passed the peak of engines, it’s downhill from here

I have reason to believe that the engine's capability were not fully at display here. According to some sources, the engine was not turned up. AKA, little to no boost. Why, you ask? It's a prototype car and for whatever reason they just wanted to display the car with little to none of the boost turned up. I have a feeling this engine is far more capable than what we're led to believe.

I give Dodge 3-5 years before Stellantis drops them. Without V8s they are nothing. And if this is any indication of the future...it might not even take that long.

Yikes. Looks like the Mustang will garner the majority of sales in the next few years and maybe even beyond. Yes, the Hurricane may be more powerful, but non-Dodge fans will never understand that it's not all about power. When I start my cammed 5.7 Jeep in the morning, it always puts a smile on my face. I couldn't care less about being the fastest... something about the rumble of a V8 that can never be replaced. The only V6 that sounds better to me is the GTR, but that's a completely different animal. Dodge may have shot themselves in the foot. I understand it's mainly Stellantis pushing this, but you'd think there'd be some pushback from Dodge. To kill off your bread and butter is insane

Honestly, the Hurricane engine Challenger sounds beautiful and had quite the launch there. The turbo spoiling adding to its nice exhaust. …said no one fucking ever.

I'm surprised no one here has compared the sound of this to a Buick Grand national. I got one actually hope this engine finds its way into an updated Challenger. I miss the sound of my Buick and it would be cool to have something modern that was comparable. As much as I like the current challenges, Dodge just didn't refresh them enough over the years.

If Dodge even thinks this is possible with a big heavy car like this they better come with more than 550 hp & AWD to make an i6 turbo setup worth getting rid of the Hemi!!!

Put it up against the legit drag pak. Or even a scat to see how it really does. It seems excessively slow.

No . Absolutely not. I'm a Mopar Musclecar guy and own several. Most of us already suffered through the turbo 4 cylinder Daytona, Charger , Omni GLH and Shadow period. For buying new muscle , I was forced to switch to a 5.0 Mustang until the Hemi Challenger finally came out. I swear I'll do it again and this time I wont come back.

This engine will probably never go into a Charger/Challenger type vehicle. I think the smallest vehicle that will get it is the Grand Cherokee and we'll have to shell out $75k for an electric Charger with 280 real miles of the EPA estimated 320 miles of range.

Sounds like garbage. I own a 5.7L Challenger…been a fan of Buick V6 Turbos forever. I think the “hay-day” of Dodge muscle is over but surely some (including me) could be won over with a powerful, fast I6 as a daily driver…but no way replacing our Hemis as our true loves.

To me looks like who was driving didn't know how to build boost, (DID the car come with a LINELOCK?) however it looks like it was an attempt brake load and when it came time to go, the brake was dumped but the gas pedal wasn't mashed at the same time. Also sorta sounded like it was a stick, if so the shifting was lackluster.

I wouldn't pay this video too much attention as to how the car performs in production tune. I know the V8 guys hate losing their pushrod V8 but a turbo inline six can be no joke. We could be looking at what is basically a dodge M4. As far as straightline performance anyway. BMW 's M3 and M4 make 550hp In top trim and do it with a 3.0L twin turbo straight six. This engine can make over 700+hp to the wheels on stock turbos or around 900hp crank. The engine itself can take even more power before being built. People are running 8s in the quarter mile. The M3 in the video above though has had the twins removed for a big single which makes the exhaust sound much better and has the deep snarl inline sixes are known for... Not the high pitched crap sound it has with twin turbos.

2025 Dodge Charger

It’s no V8 but I love it…. Since the Hurricane Twin Turbo 6 is going into the next gen Charger as an option over the Charger EV, I’ll fucking take it!…. At least Mopar is somewhat listening to their fanbase (let the sales of their gas powered Chargers speak when they outsell the EV version!) ! Unike GM. They plan to make the next gen Camaro an Electric Crossover for fuck sakes! GM hasn’t listened to their fanbase in a long time and it fucking shows!… and this is coming from someone who’s been a long time GM fan!

I see some on FB marketplace & they're hella cheap. Like to the point where I'm weary of em. 8k for a whipple but then 1.5k tops for a used hellcat blower? I've seen two as low as 1k

Well an twin turbo inline 6 can sound amazing if you know what you're doing (Nissan Skyline, etc). But Dodge clearly doesn't.

Thing could barely break the tires loose. This car platform is way too big and heavy for such low torque engines. Those electric Chargers are lookin pretty friggin sweet though!

Did they say over 500 Hp at 3500 rpm? If so that’s a lot of power at extremely low rpms. But it didn’t sound impressive at all.
