Woah dude! Thats rad, I assume they're worth the investment if you're saying that. I just got a pair of osiris clones with the huit art and that were only walked in, gonna see how long it takes to wear these out.
I disagree, I got them on discount and they're so uncomfortable. Whenever I took even the smallest bit of impact I would get extreme foot cramps. It would also really hurt while I was kickflipping and it made it so much harder to flick and land. I don't recommend these even at a discounted price
Those insoles are intentionally sticky, it’s a thing that they put on the AVE and a couple other skate builds. We don’t sell a ton of them in the store I work in, both there are definitely die hard fans of them.
All the videos you take in the early morning and late afternoon make the videos feel like autumn. All the takes in the blazing afternoon feel like summer.
Still a fan of John Hill, but after he moved to Texas, the vibes of his videos haven't been the same. Something about the NYC backdrop just makes these videos more enjoyable, so I'm glad I still have a channel to watch some relaxing skate content.
Not sure how, but I was lucky enough to find a pair of Beatrice Domond AVE Pros at Ross for $40, in my size. Love em, and it was the one colorway I was really interested in
I went through, NB, cons, airwalk, then Vans A.V.E. pros. I look for sales, use trick tape, stick and flick, and gorilla glue to extend the life really well. A.V.E. is all I will skate.
Thanks for doing the review, I’ve been wondering about these. I like the Chima Pro 2s also, but I can’t find them in all black in my size anywhere. Maybe I’ll try these next.
I think the price point is that high because of the mesh and the insole as well as it being a pro model shoe. Anthony Van England has been a skater with Vans for a while and this is his pro model. These are always in my car if I’m try to break new shoes because they’re so comfy and a relief after a while.
I noticed you were implementing what you were saying into your last video with your skating in that session. My range for buying skate shoes is 65-75 bucks. I personally beleive why pay 30 or 40 bucks more for skate shoes when I I can pay 30 or 40 bucks less for it to pursue the same purpose.
The aves are probably my go to just because of the durability. Both pairs I’ve had lasted me more than 2-3 months which is great for me, I think it may have something to do with the fact that the stitching isn’t exposed
Try the Nike SB Shane 😉 I like them, snug, good board feel, good heel dampening with some air cushioning, toe dampening good/ok. They seem to be better then the SB Janoski (what I heard from other skaters), but I like the look of the Janoski a bit better…
@@lukemate2783 how is it ugly lol, at least they last long and arent very expensive, I cant skate shoes with laces cause they just break too fast, and slip ons isnt an option neither, they feel too loose, John Hill skates them and I dont feel like they're ugly
I have mixed feelings on the Vans Anthony Van England (AVE)pro. I’ve had 3 pairs, one Red and two Black with White strips. The Black and White didn’t last a week until the rapid weld came off both shoes, so the toe cap was loose and crappy looking. Now my Red ones were amazing I still skate those and trashed the black and whites.
tbh i owned both the chima pro and the ave pro and i kind of prefer the ave pro. Btw i got the ave pro for 50bucks with a discount and i'm really happy with how they feel. I really like the sole its so comfortable and they last rlly long and i recommend those. However, i don't know if i would have bought them for 100. So if you find them with a discount, i defenitely recommend you buying them. PS: it's my personnal point of view
Hey George! Been a while, haha, but great video as usual. Yeah, I pretty much agree with your take on them, when they first came out (Back when I was working at Vans) I thought it was a little iffy and to cringe (the white colorway with the opaque blue). But once they came out with the black I was slightly swaying to it. I heard from a few people they last a little longer than the regular shoes but y'know, in the end, it's prolly cheaper to stick with the slightly better-priced shoes you know you like. But id be interested to see if you keep up wearing them and update how they're holding up. Cheers and hope you're doing well man! Otis
i skated there for about 4 months and thats a lot for me i skate every day and there held up really really good and the bottom is the best bottom that vans have for sure suggest them
I skated these and I had the same issue with the mesh where it ripped super fast but other than that they were some of my favorite shoes I’ve ever skated
Idk man I would have tested the wavvy at this point if we’re discussing expensive vans skate shoes these days, but I still Enjoyed the content as always ❤️
Hello George what should I do if I can’t afford skate wheels and a new deck as mine is braking I found some sheep stuff but there from u.s shops and the shipping to the uk is like £20
I skated with the white versions of these shoes (got em on sale, luckily) but I found that they’re fine for flat ground, after you break em in a little bit, they’re great for vert, and the top of the toes ripped so quickly, from a day of practicing Casper stalls 🤔? I’d see spending that much if I did more vert skating, but normally that’s still pretty pricey for how I skate 🤔? But that’s just my thoughts, from how I skate🙃? Soup’r comfy, though 😌! So I guess it’s up to you to give em a test, too (if you also luck into a pair being on sale or do a good bit of vert skating😅)?
hey been skating for 4 months now and i can nearly kickflip any tips on how to kickflip. oh btw way u inspired me to start skating and you had a big impact on my style
Well cupsole is the construction, then you need to factor the material which is used and the thickness of the sole. Some cupsoles are really not designed for support but for boardfeel like Adidas Puig or most Lakai cupsole. Usually I buy cupsole shoes and put my insole in it to add some cushion.
