We are Patricia and Ed. We have been living on a 46 feet Catamaran and exploring the world on the water! We have always loved to travel and explore new places around the world.
Our first extended trip was a road trip in the US were we got to see over 20 states and ride 30.000 kilometers on our ECO Friendly Van. It was simply awesome and raised our awareness to the fact that we did not have to be tight down to a land home to continue to work and travel. Now, we’re on a sailing exploration journey attempting to circumnavigate the world aboard JOY. Patricia did not have any previous sailing experience, but was willing to learn on the fly.
Now neither of us are too technical and know how to fix things too much, super rich or retired, but we always had big dreams. What motivates us is the possibility to explore and learn along the way, share our experiences here on RU-vid, be helped and help others along this Journey.
We want to continue to uncover the meaning of Happiness, Joy and Kindness along the way and hopefully bring something to you that will also make you think of alternative possibilities in life. We hope you enjoy been part of this journey along side us !

Wow, an explorer rig. We haven't been getting enough videos Ed! How is the explorer rig build going? It's great to see Patricia having a good time. Not everyone would settle in to boat life well. You're doing everything right Ed. Looking forward to the next video.

Awesome to see a new season start Ed and Patricia. Countries are funny what you can and cannot bring into the countries. I'll tell you my heart stopped when I read the title and the whole time until you said you where not selling Joy. Yes we will show it here. It will be some work for sure and it will take a while on a ship when we send it across the Atlantic for the South America expedition we are planning for the future but before that we will drive to the North Pole and Africa. All the best, Ed and Patricia

I can't imagine you would sell Joy unless you were going bigger......still have not bought anything but been looking at everything for a good while now and the Lagoon 46 is the best luxury home like feeling catamaran in this size range I have seen....the FP 47 is the next best but I like the flybridge and covered sundeck better than the sport cruise with open sundeck where you have to watch out for the boom and be in the sun all the time....the salon and cabin layout of the Lagoon 46 is the best also....and from everything I can tell they sail pretty much at the same speeds in the same conditions.....so far my favorite is the Lagoon 55 but I love the Knysna 550 also.....my one concern with a larger boat is how many marina's can haul it out....we want to eventually sail to the French Polynesia after picking up the boat in France and sailing the Mediterranean....have you had any structural issues?.....does your boat pop and crack at the cabinets or bulkheads in rough seas?.....Portifino is producing some really promising boats but nothing finished yet.....any feedback is appreciated....really enjoy your videos.....even though I can't understand what Patricia is saying I like her accent.....

Hi CB ! It is great to hear from you. I agree the L55 is awesome. We like the way the Sunreefs 50 look as well just not too certain about how they sail. We will enjoy JOY for a bit more and without a doubt our next boat will be bigger but not much bigger due to the issues you mentioned above. We felt like the L46 really checked all the boxes for us, don’t get me wrong there is not a perfect boats but we felt that we have had already our fair share of issues during the first year and half of ownership and was glad to see things stopping to break or let’s say normalize around here. In terms of bulkheads JOY has already being reinforced using Lagoons new factory standards. It did add about 300 kilos to it but bulkheads are now super solid. I believe that in all lagoons you will hear creaking noises at high seas. I feel it is normal as the boat need to flex in order to not break a part. JOY proved to us we can trust in her, after all she has been taking us safely without any structural issues or cracks from day one. All the best Ed and Patricia. E verdade. Estava até melhor mesmo o mercado. Nossa primeira oferta para vender foi 55% superior do que pagamos na JOY. Nosso objetivo não é ganhar dinheiro com este barco e sim ter uma plataforma que nos leve para lugares ao redor do mundo.
