Not just tyler- but people who relate to this album like me. Never in my life was Tyler in my radar until this album- and now im kicking myself for not listening to him sooner
quick reminder that in earfquake, the first lyric is "for real, for real this time," further suggesting that this album is a loop, since this has happened presumably in the past
ooh i never even thought about it in this way. i've always heard a pretty surface level meaning to that and thought it just meant in general, but thats really cool
@@wast4706 The lyrics "For real this time." suggest that Tyler(or Igor) have fallen back in love and convinced themselves that this time is different creating a loop
So igor is actually a musical loop, because remember "Exactly what you run from you end up chasing" it is confirmed by tyler himself that igor IS a loop. Just a fun fact
also the chord that the album ends on isn’t resolved (in are we still friends), and the first note of Igor’s theme actually resolves the dissonance making a perfect musical loop
If the album being a loop is true, then it makes sense that "Igor Theme" initially sounds like an old horror movie song. Nothing is more horrifying than being trapped in a seemingly endless cycle of emotional suffering from which you cannot escape.
It hard because Tyler's character wants to love him but throughout the album realizes that his love interest doesn't feel the same way for him but instead a girl,Tyler has a breakdown and buys a new magic wand witch can be used as a term for a gun saying 'like magic like magic, gone' but comes to terms that sometimes you can't have what you want so your last attempt to at least be connected with this person is to be friends, but Tyler said it best 'What you run from you end up chasing' therefore making a new cycle of jealousy and sadness over and over again
@@connormcdowell4697 it doesn't work that well unfortunately because of the mixing on the last note in are we still friends where it almost completely fades out
yeah technically the Bb at the end of “ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?” is not a resolving note and the perfect note to resolve it would be an Eb which is the note played in the intro of “IGOR’S THEME”
Fun fact: The quick song in IGOR is "Exactly what you run from, you end up chasing" signifying that Tyler is scared of falling in love again, and being hurt but yet wants to restart it believing that he actually has a chance. This is also confirmed in the lyrics in the song EARFQUAKE with "For real, for real, for real this time." and "I think I'm falling in love, this time I think for real" in the song I Think.
i found out that igor was a loop when it autoplayed igor's theme after listening to the album for the first time and i legit cried igor never found his magic wand, did he?
EARFQUAKE: "For real, for real THIS TIME." I THINK: "I think I'm falling in love, THIS TIME I think it's for real." EXACTLY WHAT YOU RUN FROM YOU END UP CHASING: Speaks for itself. RUNNING OUT OF TIME: Kind of a stretch but "STILL running out of time." As if it's been happening. GONE, GONE: "Or maybe it's just a dream that I can't seem to wake up from" considering if really is still in love, again and again. "Want me to do it over again, everything?" THANK YOU: "But I don't ever want to fall in love AGAIN" ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?: Title shows Tyler setting himself up for it again without trying to, then the last line, "can't say goodbye." They gon' feel this one.
So if you don’t understand are we still friends ends on Eb which is an incorrect finish but Igor’s theme starts on Bb so it finishes it perfectly which makes it a loop
its not a literal loop but a "musical loop", as in, the last note of "Are we still friend" is not a resolving note and the resolving note is the beginning of "Igor's theme"
