What’s most important is that we divest as much as possible from participating in and upholding empires. It’s the millions of “regular” people all upholding and fueling these societies. Was born in England to an English/Welsh Mum and an Irish dad. I sound like a cockney but I do not embrace my English side at all and consider myself Irish. I hate what England has done to the world. I stand with Palestine and Ireland. Please Ireland, listen to us English-sounding folk first before passing judgement because many of us are appalled and embarrassed at being English. We can’t help where we were born and the first chance I get (hopefully with a EuroMillions win!) I’m out of this racist, arrogant country and I’ll either be in Cork or somewhere hot!!!
I see the same here in the U.S. Unfortunately, we've had horrible natural disasters here and hear about people lacking basic necessities, such as electricity. Of course, this is only temporary and aid is allowed to get there. I can't help thinking, while I hear of the lamenting on the news of the forced starvation in Gaza. I won't even start on the rest of the world.
