My teeth dont show when i speak, especially my upper teeth (doesn't show at alk, but my lower teeth shows just a bit). And it makes me insecure cuz i think i have a big lips. So i lived my life wishing my lips could be smaller (I'm an African and ive always admired how westerners has thin lips)... But I'm going to love myself just the way i am

One thing you didn't mention is the angle of your teeth. In my experience that also plays a role in which row of teeth show when you speak. I used to have a significant overjet and my lower teeth were angled outward a bit and when I spoke my top teeth showed. My dentist pushed all my teeth in with invisalign so now everything looks artificially straight and my lower teeth are on FULL display when i talk. I look so disgusting and it's aged me significantly. It's funny because long, long before it became a trend on tiktok, that was one of my major complaints as my teeth started to shift, but when i'd bring it up, people would act like i was crazy. they'd say things like "who even pays attention to stuff like that??" i literally saw the trend on tiktok a couple of weeks ago and now i have confirmation that people really DO pay attention to that.

Oh, I just got some good news. My upper lip may someday cover my top teeth when talking, which are the ones I'm more insecure about.

I talk with my bottom because I never want anyone to see my upper teeth (and it works.) Nobody even knows how my upper teeth look like, and I have been on braces for the past 6 months now. I can't wait to finally be able to smile.

uggghhh, it gives cringe and the ick when I see people speaking with their bottom teeth. it's like hearing someone chew, but instead of hearing it, you have to see it. sorry, but i prefer to see people's beautiful upper teeth, or both upper and bottom. no hate, just gives me the ick. idk why.
