Fun story, I had 6 wisdom teeth and it was causing pain. I took a night guard and put Orajel in it. Definitely gave myself a chemical burn. They thought it was gingivitis and power washed my teeth. The dentist came in AFTER and said what did you do??? 🤦‍♀️ don’t do that!

I feel that baby tooth one. I can't even describe how confused I was at age 8 with all adult teeth but no eye teeth.

One of my younger cousins ended up with similar tooth development/alignment to me (Over-sized buck teeth and the adult teeth next to them couldn't grow in properly.) We both had to wear spacers on our top jaw; though I had braces from 3rd to 7th grade, she only had hers from 3rd to 5th grade. I only wore my retainer for ~2-ish years (because kids at school were grossed out by it and then I lost it)causing those 2 teeth that I needed the spacer for, to turn inward slightly, so I still have over pronounced front teeth (and my big overbite doesn't help.) So I've basically scared her into wearing her's regularly. It also helps that her retainer is the thin, clear, kind and mine was a big chunk of plastic molded to the roof of my mouth with a couple wires.

I have a fissured tongue and it's definitely more sensitive to spices/acidic foods than a normal tongue would be. Even things like pineapple juice or pizza sauce can irritate it after awhile, in my case anyways. 😭

My mom bro and I have that tongue and we most definitely feel pain when dealing with obvious acidic foods and nuts and other non obvious acidic foods. We have it to different degrees but yea … you get used to it

When my baby teeth came in they were rotten and I cried a LOT. Mum took me to two dentists but I cried so much she gave in and took me away. She finally took me to a third dentist and ran away so as not to hear me crying. I still remember the gas mask he put on me as I was strapped to a chair and he pulled out all my teeth. I must have been about two years old. The thing is I remember losing MORE teeth as my final teeth grew in around ten years old, is it possible to have three sets of teeth ?

When I was a kid, I had an underbite but it fixed by itself and I’m glad that I didn’t and don’t have to wear braces

I havent worn my retainer in several years, my teeth havent really moved, maybe a tiny bit. My orthodontist told me to... #1. Open my mouth #2. stick out my tounge #3. Swallow, all 3 at the same time. and if I couldnt do it, he wouldnt give me braces and he didnt. It took me like 2 years for me to be able to do it. When I would sing, after 45 seconds I would lose my voice and choke until I drank water when I would eat food without water, I would choke... BECAUSE of my "Tongue Thrusting". I had a high voice because of it also that lasted to my early 20's.

What are the pros and cons of composite bonding? My orthodontist says I need it on my top front four when I'm done with my adult braces (because my untreated overbite wore them down) and I'd like to know more.

What’s cheaper? Paying a general dentist for braces treatment or getting insurance that covers adult orthotic treatment? My general dentist quoted me $4200 (ppo doesnt cover adult ortho) I have one gap (upper) and a 3 crooked lower teeth. Would HMO insurance help me pay less? even after waiting a year before treatment? Do specialists charge more?

I broke my condile when i was young,i was learning how to drop in on my bike and twisted by bars way to much and hit the botttom of my chin on the cement so hard,i broke my jaw in half and lost 4 teeth and had to have my jaw wired shut for a month 😊

I had to get two top molars out to make room for my wisdom teeth and the dentist asked do you want them back. I was like umm..what am I supposed to do with them make the worlds weirdest pair of earrings? Do people often keep bloody hunks of enamel you yank out of their skulls as a keep sake? So as they were still healthy teeth but it would cause severe issues down the line with my wisdom teeth coming in so I got them out..and weirdly enough had no issues with them after other than needing some fillings.

Love to see him talk about tooth erosion in the bone in the jaw Cause I went to get a cavity fixed it was really small had an x-ray and my tooth bone was eroding in a line up in my socket, I was so upset said theirs no point to safe the tooth would like to know, If any of that was true, they said I could pull it out it could break off in a few month kr in a few years I’m on year 3 and the cavity just worse and it’s in my front teeth

I thought I would be getting a Hawley retainer after my braces came off, but they ended up giving me an invisible one and I HATED it. It always felt like the retainer was keeping the rot pressed against my teeth no matter how clean everything actually was, I could just feel it. No idea why orthodontics switched from hawleys to those nauseating things.

When I was a kid I grew an extra tooth , through my gums, one of my canines. I didn’t find out until age 20 that I have familial adenomatous polyposis (gardner’s syndrome) and that’s why I grew an extra adult tooth. I just wish my dentist or parents would have said or done something when I was a kid! Anyone else grow an extra adult tooth? Just curious 😊

i need to go back i have a fixed bonded retainer at the back of my teeth and now a small piece is sticking out of that wire and its hurting me

I had "3 front teeth" too. my adult canine never came down. it was trapped. i lost its baby tooth, but the adult one never followed down to fill up the empty slot because it was stuck in my skull right next to my nasal cavity. no idea why. but when the rest of my adult teeth came, they filled in the empty slot and my whole top row of teeth was shifted to the left, leaving 1 front tooth dead in the center and my other front tooth where the canine should be. How did I get it corrected? Well I had to have surgery AND braces. They knocked me out, drilled way way up to my tooth stuck in my skull's nose area, _attached a wire to it,_ and tied that wire to my braces. The braces started separating my teeth to make way for the canine, and I had to go to the dentist every week or so where they would attach a freaking CRANK to the wire and _twist_ it to _manually pull the tooth down_ like dragging an anchor back onto a boat. It hurt so bad I always cried and then by the time they got it all the way down is had a massive cavity bc there was no way to brush it when it was still deep in the tunnel they'd cut into my gums (for some reason nobody recommended a waterflosser) so they did all that work to get it out and then had to cut its whole tip off to give it a fat old filling 😑 Best part is it was so crooked when it finally came all the way down that I had braces for years and all my teeth are straight except this one that sits behind all the others and orthos have straight up told me it might not be able to ever be properly aligned
