Hey everyone welcome back to The StudyTube Project! Today we have the lovely, Raina here to talk about brushing your teeth - just how well are you actually brushing them?

Ooh thank you for the tip about not rinsing your mouth with water after brushing your teeth! I never realized that doing this would somewhat mess it (the process of fluoride working on your teeth) up. If that's the case, is it not recommended to drink water after brushing your teeth (till like 30 minutes or an hour later)? Can a similar timeline be applied to your mouthwash? (ie after 30 minutes from what you last brushed your teeth, you can use a mouthwash to rinse to help introduce minerals back in to strengthen the enamel?)

Hey! Thanks for watching ☺️☺️ Yeah you shouldn’t really drink water/use mouthwash straight after brushing because this still washes away the fluoride from the toothpaste, if you can it’s best to wait at least 30 mins so the fluoride has some time to work! Mouthwash is best at a different time to brushing like after lunch! It has a much lower concentration of fluoride and should just be used as a nice addition to brushing 2x a day 😊

is it weird that I want to gag every time I think about swallowing toothpaste / having it in my mouth when I'm not actively brushing? idk why but it just grosses me out - I have to rinse with water thoroughly every time lol

A lot of people say this! If you really have to rinse with water, try applying some toothpaste back onto your teeth with your finger after so there’s still some fluoride 😊

Yessss fr it groses me out when i donot rinse it immediately, but i brush it lighty with toothpaste again and leave it for a while

the "not rinse in order the keep the fluoride chemical product on your teeth" advice mh But thank you it was interesting I remember now what they told us in primary school haha

plus: will different brands of toothpaste affect the rinsing part, like maybe some toothpaste must be washed away, is it a widely applied method all around the world?
