Well said - Amen. Experiences can be good and encouraging but never build your faith/life on it. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5 NKJV "To know CHRIST, the living Word, is to love the BIBLE, the written Word!"

Thank you for sharing this. Yes, we should definitely be chasing God! You were talking about crying in worship. I cried during worship at church yesterday morning. The band sang a song called "Blessed Redeemer". It's a song that Christian band "Casting Crowns" wrote, sort of a modern version of the old hymn. I was moved by the lyrics in it but was especially moved at the end when they were singing acapella. That brought tears to my eyes. The message in the song is so powerful and beautiful. Like you said though, we should be chasing God, not experiences. Thank you for emphasizing reading the bible! I needed to hear that. So often I'll go through the week and not even pick up my bible except at the bible studies I go to. That bible study the pastor started on Tuesday evenings is excellent, by the way. We watch a video and then break up into small groups to have individual bible studies on a certain topic. The video series we are watching is excellent and can be found online. I would highly recommend it! It's called "The Bible for the Rest of Us", the rest of us meaning ordinary people as opposed to bible scholars, for example. You can do a google search for "The Bible for the Rest of Us" and look for "Disciple Dojo" in the results. "Dojo" is a martial arts term if you were wondering. There's a workbook that goes with it with blanks to fill in as you watch each video. There's a link to download it off the website. The video series and the book are free.

This is a super important message! I've fallen into the trap of chasing the "feeling" of God before, and it's not good. It's not even just crazy spiritual experiences, but also just feeling that I don't "feel" God's presence or like you mentioned early in the video, not getting super emotional during worship. I'm at the end of the video now and had to point out that my friend also had a comic book style Bible and when I was a kid it was the coolest thing to me.

I wanted to add that you are a good speaker! You do a good job communicating what point/points you want to get across. It's good that you pray before doing a video. God can then use that prayer and give you the words to say.
