bro i swear... this is what you were born to do.. i seen a thing where you said 1000000 tracks are released every day... so it better stand out 1000000 VIDEOS are released like this every day and tbh. yours stand TF out. banger.
You just can't let me forget it can you 🙃 To be fair, I have been collecting records since 1995(vinyl then digital), but its a whole new learning curve to understand chords and then learn the rules that accompany different ones.Your teachings are helping immensely though and speeding up that process, so many thanks and keep up the great work!!
Absolute Genius Ben!! You've probably just shaved about 2 to 3 years off most new producers journey trying to learn about chords & progressions. What this has done, arguably better than some of the well known paid for chording tools, is allow creativity to flow with less chance of mistakes. Love it!!
WOW. I’ve been looking for tutorials like this for as long as I can remember. Your style of piano house grooves is what I want to create and watching your videos has given me so much inspiration. In fact I can’t stop watching them. Thank you so much for your time showing how it should be done. Coffee coming your way 👏
Man, this video and your tool change my life. I'm struggling with deep house and now I just do my deep chord vibe tension resolutions so easily it's creasy thanks
B another great video with some awesome tips and tricks. Love the fact that you just give awesoemt tools away and basically expect nothing back in return.
Boss as always. I actually spent a couple of hours creating a more rudimentary version yesterday morning too. 🤦♀ A good exercise nonetheless, have a good week mate. 👍
Love this for all of yinz in the same Daw. I just wanted to mention a free plugin for every Daw available called Ripchord. Allows you to program tons of interesting progressions, but also lets you share and save presets. We can make a mini ripchord community 😅
You’re so awesome!! I appreciate your insights and clear teachings! True gem of a content creator for music production! Keep up the great work :). You deserve way more subs
Thanks for this !! Just trying combine with Random Function from expression control device ( mapping into Voice and ALT ) and works great for generating ideas
I love the new vid! Did you use max for live to make the plugin? Do you have any tips on learning how to reverse engineer sounds? I hear lots of cool sounds in the new music I listen to but I never have the slightest clue how to make similar sounds, even with my fairly broad (but not broad enough) knowledge of sound design.
@@Bthelick Thanks, I'm looking forward to the video. Right now I'm using live standard, but I just upgraded a week ago, so I'm deciding whether I should refund and upgrade to live suite to save a couple hundred bucks or stick to live standard. Max for live looks really intriguing
My neighbor had a cheap keyboard so I already had 'the bug' for music by the time I started, but I was super fortunate to be close to a school called Wardle High, run by a legend called Bill Anderson. Even though it was not a private school this man was obsessed with giving kids the opportunity to learn an instrument and it felt like that's where most of the budget went. There were brass bands, big bands, rock bands and music classes were big enough to have one keyboard per 2 students (very rare in the 90s). The brass bands travelled the UK and we won many competitions which gave us a great sense of discipline and camaraderie. Bill Anderson died the year I left and the school fell into decline, I will always credit him (and my parents) for giving me that great opportunity to achieve this dream. I did go on to A-level and University at Salford , But I left before I finished the degree having 'woken up' to the paradox of Art inside the western education system.
@@Bthelick wow that’s awesome! I love the story. I had a similar upbringing, maybe one day when I’m an artist I can get that story over to you. Thanks to your videos, always. Cheers.
sure, just give me a couple of years to get to grips with FL again it's been a while!!!! the last time I used it was when I sold it as a salesmen in music shops in the early 2000s was still called "Fruity Loops " 🤣🤣.
Yes, in Ableton, you can record the output to a midi track. Create a new midi track, select your chord track as the input. Make sure to hit the monitor "in" button, and record
Yeah the Ableton inbuilt grand piano preset for simpler is fine I use it all the time. The one in the video is the stock piano in kontakt. I show a good m1 sample in the "piano house sound" video too and there's also the free meat beatz micro piano
@@Bthelick For some reason my reply is getting blocked. So I am going to try and write in a way so it gets to you. Go look up the radio edit of the TIDY tune at 32 seconds in and listen to the vocal and you will hear the sample. The tune you are playing is not black patterns.
@joedriver2588 I never said it was? I think there's crossed wires here somewhere. I said in the video I was influenced by the shifting block chords of black patterns, other than that my track is completely original. When you said "this tune" sampled tidy. I asked you which tune was sampled, my tune or black patterns i mentioned. You didn't answer that, but having listened to the tidy track and hearing the same vocal sample I understand you meant my track do black patterns isn't in the conversation any more. That making sense
This seems like an amazing tool but I can't get it to work properly for some reason...I only put midi notes on A per the instructions, yet somehow the tuner is detecting notes being played in E... even when I turn all knobs to zero on the chorder. I am using Serum as my instrument. Any suggestions?
@kuperjones4460 ah, then your serum is not set up to be polyphonic ( can only play one note at a time) therefore it can't play the chord it's being fed so it's just choosing the top note. Turn off "mono" in the bottom right and make sure the "poly" has enough notes to cover the chord you want to play (minimum of 6 will do) Bare in mind if you're using presets and the author intended that preset to be a lead or bass , then playing chords with it might mess with the sound (in a bad or good way!) .If so find a preset made for chords.
