Are You Making This Mistake with Your Hacked AC System? merch = teespring.com/... / stevenlavimoniere lavimoniere productions llc subscribe to my channel / @stevenlavimoniere lavimoniereplum...
window unit or portable once a recharge won't get it going.. Those new systems are suppose to be coming out in january.. then again they said that last january.. I got a window unit and a portable and might get another portable but maybe not.. I can keep the house pretty good in the afternoons and it will get down to 74 just with one 10k window and 10k/6k portable and a couple large fans to distribute the air.. I am good with that.. don't want to buy a 410a right now and next year they outlaw the gas and its as bad as my R22 is now.. was thinking mini split. you can get mini splits with 4 evaporators and 1 condenser which would be perfect but i don't know .. chinese stuff with a 3 week warranty and they go out of business in 6 months on those mini splits. so I am going to wait it out and buy in a couple years maybe or maybe not.. let whoever buys the house fix it not me. stay cool steve :o)
Steve, If your phone is ringing and you want to mute the ringer without rejecting the call you can press the up or down volume buttons on your phone. ;).
they may not make one to fit take it out and tack a cased coil on the end they did that in a real estate office in town same problem unit over suspended ceiling and then offices built under it
Broaching mortality with the caretaker and likely executor regarding a $1K+ expenditure for someone on a fixed income, imho, is an "uncomfortable kindness", and wholly justified when spending another's 'inflation-decimated budget". Kudos for having a set, Steve!
@@mph5896 They also love to put them in and build around them in these parts. My aunt has one like that and her neighbor, who does HVAC for a living, said just put in mini splits. Before she bought it the house was renovated and a room added. They completely boxed in the existing air handler in the attic when reworking the roof AND removed the old access that you could actually fit a replacement through. Flat our told her the cost would be so high he couldn't quote it with a clear conscience.
LOL... Connecticut here. My 3200 SF house was built in 1980. Beautiful tin work in the basement compared to today's flexible junk. Problem is they built the ducting around the evaporator. I had to cut a huge access panel in that nice tin work. Im not a tin knocker and I take pride in my work, but there is no way I am going to be able to make it look as nice as the original work.
You may be right the coil may be leaking… But you might want to check because some of the R22 coils also work for R410a coils… just a different piston or orifice.
All the flushing and other steps you have to take to make it work, it is not worth the effort to reuse and old component. Just to chemically flush is over 350.00. R 22 systems are made for shorter line sets that 410a. AR22 EVAPORATORS ARE NEVER TO BE USED WITH A 410A SYSTEM WITH A HEAT PUMP AS IT WILL HAVE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.
Steve needs his own show like this old house but for Hvac. I’ve been watching his videos for along time. I’m an Hvac tech getting ready to start my own business. I watch and learn a lot from his videos. Appreciate all that you do steve
I see that you always charging up systems, do you install replace systems, to solve the problem? It seems like you're putting Band-Aids on systems instead of solving the problem, do you have installation experience.
Steve is there a gas that mixes with r22 my hvac guy put some juice in mine this year. Seems like it can keep up easier. It a system from 2004 still working good it a ruud.
@@stevenlavimoniere she's a beautiful little dog Steve.... I have a short hair chi that I rescued from being overbread, and her personality is similar to miss Molly's. I can tell you're a great dog owner..... And pretty damn good a diagnosing things pretty efficiently. Stay safe out there. ✌️
