Getting levels early makes so many things in this game easier and faster. Attachments for gunsmith are a massive one to me. Getting to certain quest like thicc case sooner is also quite nice imo
@yurilopes420 they reworked a lot of things from my knowledge but you could argue it had aspects of "pay to win" since edge of darkness. But to be honest I stopped caring about the pvp a while ago I might try it next wipe but I play more SPT than anything.
Early-wipe guns and ammo will become obsolete so much sooner because of the armor changes combined with non-FIR items being sellable on the flea market, so it will be just a week or two before the next wipe starts feeling like the current late wipe, so it makes me quite less enthusiastic about it.
Eh, it will allow us to sell those better armors and guns/ammo on the flea for big bucks which makes pvp, even if you're under geared, super rewarding financially if you win. I like that change. It also allows timmies the ability to buy good gear without grinding like the no lifers, which is what I thought you all wanted? Now you can do that and it's instead complaining that the nolifers will get to flea first? They're only going to be able to trade to other nolifes till we catch up lol
@@austinaragon3110 timmies will lose that good gear in a heartbeat next raid they enter anyways. AND they wont even learn to appreciate good gear if they find one during raid off a dead body or get lucky in a crate if they can just get it on the flea.
You forgot 1 big thing - I can't play for at least the first 4-6 hours of a wipe due to servers. Somehow, streamers get to level 10 before I can even play a single raid, this happens every wipe. The launcher's server is shared obviously, but if I can get past the launcher and into arena, then the game servers are different between regular Tarkov and Arena. So I might be able to play at times when I normally wouldn't be able to progress in Tarkov at all. Leveling without completing tasks or gathering mats beats not playing at all. So it doesn't matter which route is more optimal, at least I'll get to play ( hopefully, remains to be tested )
@@ZephraFPSit doesn't matter on big winter new year wipes it's not problem of the servers, it's just dead launcher. Well queues also, but first you need to even get into the game which is like quest of million tries to log in, to start downloading patch, to enter the game. By the time you do that 2-4 hours pass if you lucky. And then you run into trying find the game, which also may take quite a bit and you can't really go and change servers at this point cause you'll have to beat launching the game again.
I've actually been able to get into the severs on wipe day as a regular dude, took a few trys but after 20min is of goofing around I was always able to get in.
@Akac3sh lol right. Ive put in over 2000 hours into pvp since 2017. It's definitely fine to take a break and just have fun with friends at a leisurely cheat free pace.
Recommendation for Giga, Grumpy's Hideout Key at Ref 2 (PMC 15) shatters progression. Consistent level 6 plates, around 200 rounds of high pen ammo per key use. Once a player who knows about this has access to that key, it basically skips progresssion.
@@Skusty It won't, and that's by design. They want more people to buy or play Arena, even if the main game mode becomes worse because of the linking between games.
@@GigabeefI’ve had 5 grumpy keys at the cost of probably 20mil in rerolls lol. But I’ve accumulated 1000ssap 1000m995 bs,7n40. And probably 7 slicks in 25uses.
having a search would be an amazing QoL change. The amount of times I bought a piece of equipment because I couldn't find or couldn't be bothered to look for a rig buried inside 20 backpacks is astonishing
as a person who hated doing most quests and just plays this game only for pvp, i love that i can just play arena to get level 15, im not very good at normal tarkov but im decent at arena. This lets me "unlock" the game when i havent been able to for most wipes
Honestly, interchange has been my favorite map since I started and the BIGGEST SLOG before I start to really level up is when just getting to 17 so I can start getting ragman quests, once I start getting the interchange quests I am flying by in levels.
Actually yeah. I think i'm gonna go with that one. Start with Arena till 17 and push throught Ragman quests. Really weird way to progress, but getting to Interchange so early sounds fun. Also randomly meeting Killa in some obscure spot (cause of course they gonna flip his spawns just for fun again right? like only ground level and first floor or something) with absolutely not suitable weapon fot this encounter kinda would be tilting.
Yall know how to uninstall arena? I tried to boot it up while it was doing an update or something and now it can’t update the game every time it says it failed so idk what to do
@@alexmaurice4274 idk try different stuff, throught windows Apps and Features. Or maybe just manually deleting files from folder will work, something like this.
one of the things i miss heavily is being able to list items on the flea market without the found in raid status. it promoted more opportunities to actually buy and use a gear set without the fear of losing it knowing its not so limited and "rare". which should theoretically and imo, hopefully encourage more real gunplay and exploration while lessening the camping meta where especially newer players feel like they have to conform to in the more recent years.
Amazing video!! I got two friends to get Arena, and they’re enjoying the gameplay and want to start EFT next wipe. I’m a 5 year vet but even I appreciate the wishlist recommendations. Fantastic work Giga and keep it up!! - A twitch sub and fan ❤
Re: Arena, I think the bigger effect of this would actually be the trader levels, not the flea market. You can get to Level 20 with a few hours of Arena. This, in combination with the .2 rep that EoD owners get, is enough for LL2 on every trader in the game. And that gives you access to a lot of useful early game gear pretty much immediately as you start the wipe.
The past 2 and only wipes I’ve played, they’ve changed gameplay drastically and made quality of life changes, and I’ve never been able to play out the entirety a wipe for different reasons. This past wipe I had to stop playing in march cause I blew my gpu in my laptop. 😅
Playing Arena can be a nice change of pace if your first raids are really rough and you keep getting your ass kicked, you can hop over to Arena and play something else but still getting some progress.
@@ChristoffRevan The last time I played Arena, it was taking 10-15 minutes. I think it has improved since then. This was sort of when they just released it.
Now I'm kind of depressed about August's wipe because remembering that FiR isn't currently a thing anymore. It's probably going to end game on week one like it used to be back in the day. To be perfectly honest wipes were starting to feel really solid in Tarkov.
As a new player that started in Late wipe and where i still learn maps etc i belive next wipe will be fun.....sadly i have no friends to play with Thing i did when i started now was rushing 1.1 mill rubles for scav junkbox so i can hoard quest and upgrade items or just decent items to sell when i open flee
Honestly none of Just play what you want but pve has a load of potential especially since it will support mods so I wouldn’t give up on Tarkov just yet
I don't mind that they removed the found in raid for the flea, and I can see why it helps with the looter shooter feel more... But the trader flipping is the one thing I hope they do something about. Maybe instead of a found in raid tag, they just make a bought from trader tag which makes it void from the flea. I remember how the flea markets felt before found in raid and how cheap and flooded the market was for those kinds of things. I get people like cheap but it also devalues the point of finding items in a raid that isn't just the super high ticket items GPU's and such. Sometimes its nice to find valuable weapon attachments from creates......
Don't be surprised when you get a bunch of people filled with good shit from traders in a couch bag trying to do a run through raid to sell that shit 😂
IMO, not needing an item do be found in raid to sell on the flea is a good change, but I still think general sam's idea is genius. If u find something in raid it should still be found in raid even if you die. That would single-handedly change tarkov, because it doesn't matter how chaddy I'm feeling, whenever I find a LEDX, a GPU or even a simple task item like a salewa (during the shortage task) I will morph instantly into a rat and crawl my way into extract immediately.
I’ve always wanted a list of all the items you need for quests and hideout but not sorted by trader. So if anyone wants to do that I’ll love you forever lol
The level progression of arena isn't really an issue because of the fact that you'll be incredibly far behind in quests which are the more important than level as a form of progression. Also It is much easier in arena to get level 17 in 10 hours, but if you're good enough you could get level 17 quicker and have quest progress by actually playing so its a fair trade off.
honestly, imma sit this wipe out. this wipe will have the shortest "early wipe" if armor stays the way it is now. the "true fanatics" edition lvl 3 skill boost removed certain quest roadblocks. i am the least wipe hype since a LONG time.
2:00 I’m level 23 and haven’t finished Pharmacy. The key is impossible to find no matter how many times I run customs and the key is sold for an average of 700,000 Roubles. In theory it prevents gate keeping of tasks but in reality you’re still gonna have to lose your sanity for the key!
Within the first week of every wipe I make sure I have a full junk box of fuel it always last me the entire wipe since I don’t play the entire thing constantly
This next wipe is going to be the sweatiest one ever. Arena is so good right now that the best players have honed their skills thanks to the changes. The amount of xp and rubles gained from arena makes it a huge benefit.
As a 69 lvl sweat lord id realy live to NOT be able to run lvl 6 armor every raid, i want to be gatekept, wish they did all meta too tier gear be only found in raid to refresh that looting excitement. 2 month into wipe and u dont even loot coz its pointless
and you don t even have to be a sweat lord for it tbh. If you don t play as much you could just buy all your personal trader limits and always have enough gear in stock as i felt like the personal limit was the only thing gate keeping a little bit
as a fellow sweat I have to agree. The fun part about the game is when loot feels scarce. Especially guns and armour. That’s why I love the first weeks of the wipe. I’m forced to use whatever gear I have because I’m relatively broke. there are so many sights, grips, but stocks and hand guards that I never use after lvl 15 because I can just buy the best alternative at the flea or off the traders. I feel like the game could get more interesting for me if the incredible diversity they have when it comes to gear was a bit more gate kept. That’s really the only complaint I have about the game, and I’m still in awe of how thrilling it is after nearly 2k hours. Can’t wait to play early wipe again!
Currently my plan is to play arena to level 15, try to farm a bit of rubles while doing so, then switching to the main game hopefully being able to immediately buy quest keys etc
I gotta say I am a little worried about fast arena progression taking away the joy of early wipe. It feels like they are going in the complete opposite direction of what they've usually been doing which was prolonging early wipe by giving players a chance to pretty much skip it by a few hours of arena and then getting rich by playing stock market simulator...
I love that arena progress will finally reward the people who push for PvP. Finally get my revenge on the non movers and beat them up early wipe. Where usually the non-movers have the upper hand because they’ll sit in a corner for 40mins on day one of wipe 😂.
I wish they toned down the money and progression instead of increasing it. When I think of Tarkov, I don't think of tactical modern super soldiers, I think of Ivan with a debatable-if-functional stock rifle trying to find a backpack. I find the game to be it's most fun when everyone is down bad and using improvised equipment. Fights last longer, the playing field is more even and valuable items actually feel valuable.
This wipe I hit level 55 about 2 months ago and just got bored after finishing everything you could do. Probably skipping this next wipe since Tarkov has just got down hill
I thought that the XP again that NoiceGuy reported on was a bug? I saw it in a comment but I don’t know for sure I don’t play Arena(I should play it though!)
Not sure how many you'll get, but I think so in theory? Can't remember if arena to tarkov was a unlocked immediately or you had to do the 1st quest first
@@Gigabeef if you have a bunch of gp coins stashed on arena you could also transfer those over and buy a bunch of the keytools from ref and sell those for millions right off the bat, i bet they'll restrict access in some way thou
Wait did you say they are adding placeable mines? Why didn't you start with that... Video coulda just been "they are adding mines don't worry about playing this wipe"...
Crazy people still play this shit after everything that went down with those versions. Havent played a single raid since it all started. BSG should not be forgiven for the disrespect shown towards us. Not to mention he literally never even apologized for any of it. Remember, it’s not just “I’m sorry i messed up” when BSG fucks up, it’s “I’m sorry you feel that way”
Great Video. Now i feel like i need to get back to Tarkov after the break i take the last tow month ore so. I think the next wipe will be great and i think we are not that far away from release, i mean soon not soon soon 😉
@@Imhotephp lmao you know damn well that most of the fun and thrill of tarkov is competing with other players and knowing you can lose important/valuable shit, this just does not exist in pve. makes the game absolutely trivial and takes all the adrenaline out of it, most of the people riding the pve wave will quit after a couple month cuz its just even more repetetive than the 6 month wipe cycle
@@Imhotephp i havent played this game in over 2 years I really dont care whos having fun, pve is incredibly boring to most people and the dick riders try to act like its better and bsg is evil
I'm ready for this wipe by not playing it. Until BSG has a incredible upgrade in either anti cheat or finally force having TPM or TPS enabled in windows I won't play. I'll glady watch EFT content and keep my ear to the game though. I'm really tempted to play because I love the early wipe progression and the thrill of finding something useful. But last wipes experience just confirmed my suspicions of how many dodgy players I run into on US West coast servers.
i'm scared about the map to map travel... i don't have so much time to play so if i need to make 5 raid before going to the map i wan't without diying with your quest item it's gonna be impossible in 1-2hours of time playing
scince PVE does not wipe, isnt the flea market kind of ongoing? i am planning to sell all my nuts and bolts when wipe comes around and buy a bunch of gpus
Issue with reselling keys is some quest keys are always wayyyyy overpriced. It would be great if they changed it where the keys had a sell amount limit.
Didn't Nikita say in his last interview that this wipe is going to start with an event that the hardcore audience will enjoy? To me it sounded like he is going to heavily mess with the first week or 2 by possibly doing things like reducing trader stock levels drastically for key items like the 133 to either 0 or 1 per reset or even having the flea market disabled for the first week. I might just be paranoid by their incompetence and it up being nothing but "haha AI go brrrr" and they just make AI omega cracked for the first week but worth keeping in mind. Also I haven't played PvP after PvE so I don't know the current cheating situation and depending on the amount of cheaters I might only play the first day or 2 before I deem it a waste of time so who knows
@@ChristoffRevan Single player games are structured around being single player. Throwing bots on a multiplayer map is not the same thing. That said, enjoy what you enjoy.
Peoples biggest complaints are always about what other people will be able to do or have access to. As if even if the game was perfect for them, they would be super successful. Wild.
Arena is good for the game whether players want to admit it or not. Especially when it comes to the average gamer who doesn't have hours upon hours to spend on the game. Arena allows us casual gamers to play and gain access to content that helps make the game more enjoyable at a reasonable pace. I personally hope they don't change anything with Arena as it is a nice compliment to the base game and my overall experience.
