Great video! I dated a widower for several months. When we dated, we drove out of town to eat. I felt he didn't want local folks to see us. I would ask him if his grown kids knew about us. He said "the topic had not come up". That was a huge red flag. As we are both senior aged, this became a deal breaker. I felt cheap and confused. Maybe he just couldn't get over his wife. I'm afraid his children will expect all his time. He will never find love again if he shows low priority to the lady. A classy lady deserves better and should move on. Thank you for sharing your insights on how a widower thinks. It's so different than being divorced.

The widower I was dating wanted to be #1 in our relationship. He said in all his other relationships he was at the bottom of the list. I made him #1...it wasn't enough. We got along in all areas...then he backed off. He has adult children( that he told he wanted me in his life)as I do. I felt at the bottom of the list and almost invisible( especially once I returned to my home and it went to a long distance relationship). We have so many matching points. It was really sad for me!

thank you, where six for six, pretty cool there was one issue though, and that's what the kids, recently the kids have been talking about him getting married and how weird they feel about that. I haven't brought up the subject and neither has the widower, but the adult kids keep bringing it up not sure why.

One more thing, so far NO sex before marriage...our focusing was on our daughters...we did not want them to do it, that was our focus, we were their examples. Now all daughters are adults, and we are in a very weird place.

Lorna Doone How does that leave you in a weird spot?

It leaves me in a bad spot because it's like riding a bike. We all know how to ride a bike, while most people do anyway. But when you've been off that bike for over 11 years for him and for almost 17 or more for me, it's hard to ride that bike.

I have a question, I have 2 master degrees and have done much work beyond the master's level but not doctoral work. For 16 months, I dated a widower who had high school diploma. I felt the difference in education levels did not matter. I do not think it was an issue with him. My question is about work, I am 63, it seems that men younger than me, in general, not specifically widowers are mostly not interested in someone older than they are. In general, men my own age don't seem to be interested in someone their own age. That leaves men who are retired. I have a question, what about a situation in which the woman is not retired and plans to work until age 67 and the widower or even not a widower is retired? I have noticed several men who retired early, my former Widower retired at 62 and continued to work part time until age 69. Would this be a problem? I don't think it needs to be but I do not know the way a man thinks about this issue.
