Janine Lorvin Angeles I LOVE the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield water gel moisturizer with SPF (or without, they make both!). I found it from Beauty Within videos, and have loved it for my day cream! Bonus: it has hyaluronic acid and antioxidants in it, and it layers wonderfully with my The Ordinary. serums. ~$20 / 1.7 fl oz

Women of colour in science positions, we LOVE to see it! Ms. Abdalla is killin it. She seems so friendly and approachable, while being knowledgeable and well-spoken. Keep it up girl!!
Courtney 👋🏽 I understand your perspective, I think she used it to be inclusive of other women, not just us. Black women (we) are not the only women of color. Yes, she definitely could have said it’s nice to see a Black woman in a Science position, but again I really just think she was trying to include others. Just my take on it.
@@Courtney-pe2iw you sound very negative person i just read all your comments you have problems with everyone’s comments and taking everything wrong way.. think positive
I was about to buy The Ordinary products and was skimming through YT about the scientific insights about them. I was about to sleep then this video dropped. I guess I'm never gonna sleep. It's 4AM already.

“What’s the point of Robin when you already have Batman”? Anyone who asked that question clearly know nothing about them 😆 Robin has saved Batman multiple times and he also provides emotional support for Batman too. So, when you think of it, yeah, it’s a perfect analogy. Haha
hi girls. i love how you talk about these ingredients, but could you also create informative videos for snail mucin, centella asiatica and other ingredients that are now being known because of kbeauty. like this comment guys so they could see please.
It was rumored that they were about to shut down and just getting rid of the last batches. I dont think thats the case anymore You can order almost everything directly from the daciem website
I love Ordinary products! Very affordable and yet very effective. I wish that in the near future they would branch out to creating skin care products for the body too! Body products that would address problems like scars, stretch marks, and stuff like that.
My favourite Robin and Batman ingredients are: Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Ascorbic Acid 8%+ Alpha Arbutin 2%. I am about to become 19 and have got oily skin. I've been suffering from pimples & then acne from the age of 14. So what "Niacinamide" did is- it controlled my sebum production and minimized my facial pores to an extent. Since pores got minimized and therefore sebum production reduced I'm getting over acne problems as sebum is the main cause behind acnes. Secondly, the acne marks that I already got over these years are being solved by "Zinc"! Besides the discoloration, age old tan marks, stubborn hyperpigmentaion by acne scars are gone away for the " Alpha Arbutin". And the game finisher "Ascorbic Acid" brightens my skin over all and gives me the healthy glow. Therefore these two serums helped me to solve my skin problems as well as making it healthy and giving me the glow! I've added this serums in my daily skincarr routine, like before going to bed at night, after cleaning and toning I apply these serums, and if even I feel any acnes popping out from underneath my skin is gone before I wake up! Plus look at the price point! Most of them are below 20$ and as a high school student I highly appreciate that. In my area Deciem directly doesn't supply here but Oh My God I love these products sooooo much that I preorder through online pages and wait monthsss to get these even in this pandemic situation. And how to layer them and what exactly my skin needs are being guided by the contents of "Beauty Within". Lots of love for the brand and this youtube channel! My Instagram ID: fatima.sarwar.06.
@@shikhasehrawat8224 You can use niacinamide and alpha arbutin together either AM or PM routine. If you are using The Ordinary niacinamide + zinc, I read that you can't use it with ascorbic acid because it will react against the "zinc." However, if you are using niacinamide alone, then you can pair it with ascorbic acid.
@@afifhakimi431 Yes, depends on what niacinamide do you use. If you are using The Ordinary niacinamide + zinc, I read that you can't use it with ascorbic acid because it will react against the "zinc." However, if you are using niacinamide alone, then you can pair it with ascorbic acid.
The ordinary niacinamide change my skincare game forever as well as tretinoin. Everytime I stop using it my skin just looks a lot uglier, oilyness comeback, pores are larger. Also 30% of the brand sales is from the Niacinamide itself. ❤️
@@isabellevasquez7433 the niacinamide serum is sooooo worth it. I thinks it's the addition of the zinc, just as much as it is the higher concentration, that makes it so effective. With very consistent use it balances my oil production super effectively.
I wish someone would make a really good skincare routine with very few steps that ticks all of the boxes. Vitamin C, retinol, exfoliants, moisture, sunscreen in say 4 or 5 products. I hate having 10 products at a time.
DermaGeek has niacinamide and sunscreen in their moisturizer and it’s so good actually (and not TOO expensive), The Ordinary Vitamin C serum, retinol and the AHA BHA red stuff. Mostly this reply was to let you know about the moisturizer lol
@@alyviak.3894 good point though. A lot of products are formulated with more than one active sometimes. Probably a good way to reduce the amount of products you have.
Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid is perfect combination 😍 Niacinamide will also reduce my wrinkles and fine lines, helps to fade acne scars it also repair signs of aging such as enlarged pores, and dark spots. And i really love the hyaluronic acid to keep my skin hydrated whole day. Both are batman and robin of my skin care routine 🥰.. thanks alot and Godbless 🥰 @poisonivyjane3
I was a skincare virgin, I had little money a much more breaks outs. I want to look pretty and handsome so I searched for a good skincare routine as well as products that worked. Little that I knew The Ordinary blow my mind away! The affordable price and also the ingredients are amazing. They transformed my epidermis. But I’m still fight against breakouts and an uneven skin texture. This film helps a lot :)
I actually have been enjoying the alpha Arbutin 2% and 8 % ascorbic acid. It really helped with my acne scars on my forehead. I love using it with my rosehip oil because it just feels right and I know that your not supposed to use water after using Vitcamim C so it doesn't burn or anything. I love Fuelic acid(vitamin E) and vitamin C so amazing! Also vitamin C is literally the best antioxidant I have been using the Q10 from inkey list and I honestly love the smell of sunscreen after I put on vitamin C idk why. @moonkaytiger! Thanks for doing this best of luck to everyone who entered! Love using hyaluronic acid after I get out of the shower though like my skin is damp and I rub that gold in my skin feels amazing
My Batman and Robin would be The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution& The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. This has changed my skin for the better. I have always been a make up wearer but have for almost 2 decades but have neglected my skin care game and have always just done the basic cleanser and moisturizer not until the pandemic happened. I was not wearing make up since I have been working from home and this was my chance to step up with my skin care game and the Ordinary have provided me everything I need. I found myself ordering new things every 2 weeks almost. LOL. ps. If you need an Alfred & Batgirl in there as well, it is the Squalene cleanser and the Ordinary The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in there and also Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, i just don't know which character would perfect for it. haha! Thank you so much for this. It was much needed easy lesson to less is more :)
@@queenf4056 you shouldn't technically use them together as AHAs/BHAs have a much lower PH than Niacinamide. It will raise the PH of the acid and prevent it from working as effectively unless you leave 30 mins or so between application, so definitely wouldn't call them batman and Robin, personally
I love the glycolic acid, Niacinamide and zinc, hyaluronic acid, and argireline. I also love buffet with copper peptides. These have made such a difference in my skin. The fine lines around my eyes and smile lines are visibly diminished. I recommend this products to friends all the time. @gabriela_burch
AMAZING exchange! That woman is so brilliant, beautiful and friendly, and you conducted this interview like a chief! Thank you, and cheers from Montreal Canada!
Mine would be vitamin C and Niacinaimide I think they are like cousins to each other 😂. Thank you so much for educating us on the usage of the ordinary products because I just started using it and knowing much about the product has now has given me hope for youthful skin🙏
I love their serums so much!! Im currently using the ordinary salicylic acid facial wash plus the ordinary Niacinamide plus zinc for a month, it helps me to improve my skin and it lessens my oiliness and lightens my acne marks. 2 thumbs up for the ordinary products!!👍🏻👍🏻 @angelinemlpua
Oh! My fave combo is a mix of niacinamide and an asian ingredient called licorice root extract! This brightened my skin and help with some acne marks. As someone who have struggled with acne on my late teens, we should never acne-shame anyone. Instead give them tips and help them to cope with their self-esteem! Spread the love for all skin types, skin color and even skin aging! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ IG : @veautifulvee
You definitely can do that, although newly shaved skin can be sensitive so I would be careful about applying any acids at that point. For acne, BHA/salicylic acid can often be move effective (as it is oil soluble) but every person is different.
I love the Batman and Robin analogy! And as a chemistry major, i looove the emphasis on science and ingredients! ^.^ My favorite batman and robin combo is Vit C & ferulic acid! Since ferulic acid increases the effects of vit c 😋 @lips.in.mirrors.xo
Can I use The Ordinary Niacinamide and Azelaic acid suspension together? And how about using the Niacinamide with Glycolic acid toner? Furthermore I want to know how can I mix The Ordinary L-Ascorbic acid powder with Natural moisturizing factor to have a formula in same strength of Vitamin C 23% ? How many scoops should I use for that concentration? Please help me for resolving my problems. Thank you
There's something weird about ordinary;- like it's so darn affordable that you can't remain without grabbing atleast 5 of their products and their formulations are super effective but they aren't cosmetically formulated well. Ingredient list is so minimal and clean but at the same time are not at all balanced. An infamous comparison is ordinary niacinamide and paulas choice niacinamide.
having a more minimal formulation could possibly mean it has less chance of irritation and its more available for more people who try to avoid certain ingredients
Cherry Bo That’s not necessarily true. Sometimes additional/supporting smoothing ingredients help to reduce the possible irritations that come with using Niacinamide, vitamin c, retinyls, chemical exfoliants, etc.
I would say that the formulations are very efficient and having used them for over 2 years i can confidently share that they only benefit the skin in the long run. That kinda points to a balanced formulation. Paula's choice is about the best products one can use. And one needs to exercise NO caution in using these products. These are fairly expensive products. TO is able to pass on the cost benefit because they don't formulate with a lot of ingredient mixed in. This particular activity is a fairly expensive activity in product development. But one definitely needs to be cautious in using the TO products : qty as well as with other products within the TO suite as well Both great quality products with very different price points and usage experience.
Hi love! I was wondering what are your thoughts on derma rolling at home. I’ve got some acne scarring (including not very deep ice pick scars) and hyperpigmentation and I’ve tried so many skincare products but none seem to work for me. Hence, this is why I thought derma rolling might help. Do you have any suggestion in good derma rollers in the market, particularly something that I can buy online like on Amazon or at my local Sephora stores? Thank you in advance 😘
I loved this video!! It really made sense the way Nafisah broke it down for us, I want to keep hearing from her. One QTN - If I buy Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% as one of its properties targets anti aging, is a retinol still necessary ?
IG: missemilyykayy 🦋 My fave batman and robin product is niacinamide and zinc! I recently began using and it's already helped reduce the texture and redness I've struggled with forever! 😊
Tretenoin and Niacimamide is my fav power duo! Hyperpigmentation is slowly fading finally and I’ve been getting comments when not wearing makeup my face is glowing! Still have a long way to go but grateful for the improvements. @tina.delrio ❤️
I love using hyaluronic acid with my niacinamide serum with a little vitamin E oil on top. it gives my skin the hydration it needs making it feel healthy and balanced 😇 @pollizzle

@@kyupified2440 no i haven't have any peeling i usually put 3 drops on my face and thats usually enough. The slight peeling could be caused by maybe to much product or the water is to warm itll dry your face theres many reason why it might peel a little
Honestly, Snail Musin Essence and a Vitamin C serum. It kinda helps lessen the sting. Also, I use Retinol at the end of my PM routine whenever I use Vitamin C serum. But I also alternate it with Niacinamide. IG: @anne_plify
Love this video. My only complaint is the question about the vitamin C powder was not really addressed. It is important to use the same percentage on your skin every time, and you need the correct ph for the Vit C to work. There is no way to control these factors if you just put some powder into a serum or cream. I love the Vit C powder, BUT, The Ordinary does not do a good job if addressing proper usage. Dermatologists, chemists and formulators on RU-vid have been very open about why this powder is problematic. Would love to see TO do a better job here.
My Batman and Robin ingredients are niacinamide and retinol. Has done wonders for my skin texture. Thank you for all the great info and positivity! IG handle: alyssamariahh
My favorite Batman & Robin combo is SPF and antioxidants! I love piling on antioxidants both to help fight pollution and free radicals but also to boost the efficacy of my SPF! (insta handle @cullensskin)
My skin hated the niacinamide serum. It shouldn't cause purging and yet my skin broke out like crazy, even in places I don't usually break out at. Maybe it was the zinc; I'm not sure. 😞 I'm allergic to fruit extracts and citrus anything. I also used the serum with nothing but my cleanser so.
Thank you for this video!!!! I've recently gotten into skincare and like everyone else I love a lot of different ordinary products (esp: squalene oil, hyaluronic acid + B5) my batman + robin combination has to be Hyaluronic Acid and Snail Mucin. It helps keep my skin hydrated but also smooths out the texture. IG handle: eunicexwon
I've been using the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and really like it because it has helped improve my skin quality and brighten it. I use it at nights with moisturizer and wake up with plump skin. I hope to try out more of their products as I am just a beginner at using The Ordinary products and a skincare enthusiast. ig: @honeydewclover
My batman and robin ingredients are Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, i have hyperpigmentation and dull skin so this product is like my holy grail. My instagram id is dhun.shah
My favorite combination is Niacinamide and Retinol. I have oily, mature skin, with acne and post-acne hyperpigmentation. I find these 2 products help control my acne, hyperpigmentation and my fine lines. I use this combination 5 nights a week and things have greatly improved for me! ❤❤

Vitamin C and Sunscreen/SPF! Vitamin C does so well in protecting our skin from further sun damage, so it provides a boost to the effectiveness of sunscreen ☀️ It’s a power couple I recommend to everyone 🤩 @stephenie_a1
Hi Beauty Within. I have a question, since it says in the video that Vitamin C Serum and Niacinamide can be used alternately and not to be combined. What if the Vitamin C Serum has an ingredient of Niacinamide. Is that still not good? I hope you'll be able to read this. I'm just worried because I've been using Vitamin C Serum with Niacinamide for 2 weeks now.
I'm using The Ordinary products for almost a month now and already recognized a great huge changes on my skin especially on my acne marks and hyperpigmentation with the help of my Batman and Robin which are The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% in the morning and The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% at night. 😍 Super loving those products!!! And also Beauty Within helps me a lot in familiarizing different skincare products that suits me well 🙏 IG: @kentopel
the Ordinary Buffet + Copper peptides & Granactive Retinoid 2% Squalane this combo has people thinking I’m in my 20’s & I don’t wear makeup. @Uhhquariyes
My favorite Batman & Robin combination is the Niacinamide + zinc because it has helped me with the appearance of enlarge pores and reducing the oil production. And is also helping slowly fading some acne scars. My IG is: r_shei
I have oilyyy, Oily, OILY skin, so I absolutely love Niacinamide & Zinc! The combination of AHAs/BHAs is so beneficial as well for my clogged pores. But my ultimate hero is always my sunscreen :) IG @tanseanna
Niacinamide and Vitamin C!!! It has saved my skin from melisma!! It’s all because of beautywithin videos!! I was lost before I discovered y’all channel so 🙏 IG: jessiley823
My current PM routine is like this: I begin with Niacinamide + Zinc, then enhance the routine with Azelaic Acid, and finally lock in all the precious ingredients with Squalane. I have clearly seen significant improvements with my acne, blemishes and post-acne hyperpigmentation since I incorporated Niacinamide. It is such a hero ingredient and is no doubt one of my best mates!
What's your skin type? I have oily skin and have been wanting to try out squalane because its suopposed to work for oily skin, but I'm super worried about it breaking me out. I can only use really lightweight hydrating products and most moisturizers make me break out :(
@@danaskunca2679 I have combo skin with a quite oily T-zone. Trust me I was rather skeptical about Squalane at first. However, I've been quite satisfied with how well it's worked as a hydrator on my skin. Since my skin feels a tad bit dry after Niacinamide and especially Azelaic Acid, Squalane provides the hydration my skin needs to recover overnight. As I am treating papules, I feel like my routine just needs to be minimalized as much as possible and thus those heavier, creamier moisturizers might irritate those pimples further. Hence Squalane is perfect during this time for me considering how well it absorbs onto my skin and it is amazingly lightweight! I did some research and found out that Squalane is also antibacterial, which is great for my acne-prone skin. I don't really know if Squalane works as well on oily skin, but I would suggest using small amounts if you decide to give it a try :)
My Batman and Robin is definitely, after washing my face, a vitamin C and moisturizer. I started using moisturizer maybe a year ago and it made a crazy difference then the vitamin c with consistent use brightened my skin and I saw it worked! Fantastic! @prodogstalker
My “Batman & Robin” combo would have to be: - Dermalogica: Active moist It’s key ingredients contain * Silk Amino Acids: help smooth and improve skin texture. * Citrus medica, Ivy, watercress and burdock: natural astringents that help refine skin. * lavender, Mallow and Cucumber: soothing extracts that help provide deep hydration. Pairing it with...... Dermalogica: Overnight Clearing Gel . Which is an invisible nighttime gel that helps clear breakouts and reduce visible skin aging. Key ingredients include: * Salicylic Acid: sloughs off pore-clogging skin cells to inhibit development of further breakouts. * tea tree leaf oil: soothes skin while your sleep. * Niacinamide, Biotin, Zinc Gluconate and Caffeine: known for purifying and soothing properties. After completing my night routine I would apply active moist as my moisturizer because it is made for all skin types and provides the hydration needed for your skin to stay supple and hydrated. And originally I would end my routine there but because I have acne that wont go away I’ve paired it with my moisturizer and every night since using it my acne has reduce. @beauty_by_melli0
