Heel drop can get you into a bad setup window, pushing you out more toward the ball, onto your toes. They might also be hindering your turn and making it hard for you to onto your right side and into that heel. For me, this was the case.
In my game, shoes with excessive heel drop really make me go all over the place with my pressure and make it hard for consistent shot making. That's why I have been looking for a shoe that is as close to no drop as possible.
I bought these with my own money and OluKai did not pay me to say anything. I just really love this shoe, and will be buying more in the future.
Again, check with your instructor on what shoes might be best for you (and if they say any, you may want to look for a new instructor).

I have irregular feet and need a wide toe box. Olukai is one of the few shoes I can wear. I’m also a fan of zero drop shoes in walking and playing golf. I can’t wait to try these.

I’m on my 2nd golf pair but my first pair ain’t dead yet and it’s been a year. My favorite golf shoes. Don’t even require a break in period

I'm pretty sure they're not zero drop. They're low drop, but not zero drop. The shoe itself has like 4mm of drop and the insole has extra cushioning in the heel adding a couple extra mm. The outside slab looks zero drop but the footbed itself isn't.

Great video and review. I have been looking for a similar shoe. Not sure if you have ever tried playing in converse sneakers at the ranger or in a sim, but that is the feeling I have been looking for. I feel substantially more comfortable over the ball in my converse because it is a zero drop shoe. Anyway, thanks for the review - I will be picking up a couple of pairs. Cheers.

I create a lot of twist in my foot, so I need something with good grip as well. These shoes are actually 6mm of heel drop, but they don't feel like that much.

In my opinion, I feel like zero drop golf shoes might not be the best bet for everyone, especially if they aren't coming from barefoot/zero drop regular shoes; going from shoes with a lot of cushioning and a heel drop, to one without, may cause problems out walking the entire 18 all day. Personally, I use vivobarefoot shoes, but use the footboy premiers in extra wide because the olukais weren't wide enough. However, I fully agree that if someone can make the transition over to a zero drop/barefoot-esque golf shoe, their ability to use and feel the ground would definitely increase as well.

I didn’t know this was a common issue until now. I played a round in some Nike infinity golf shoes and I could not strike a ball well. I had to feel like I was sitting on my heels. I always play in my olukai’s now and I wear them pretty much everywhere too.

I tried on some of their Lae‘ahi Lī ‘Ili basically they’re identical to these but for regular wear. Those squeaked when I would walk around, have you had that issue? Not a big deal just kind of annoying.
