There has been a long standing debate about whether or not the image stabilization switch on a lens or camera should be in the "on" or "off" position when shooting on a tripod. I decided that a real world test was needed to finally put this question to rest, as all the arguments seem to be based purely on guesswork and theory. This video discusses the problem, shows my field tests and the results achieved. If you shoot long exposures, the results are a must see.
