You can clearly see how KG and GP were so confident of their answers and how impressed they are with MJ,..cant argue with that. MJ will always be the GOAT
They push an NBA narrative. The fans that buy into that narrative are young and dumb. But those of us that watched Jordan, and Kobe know better. LBJ isn't close to either one of them
@@lebron6shez bs. Your a idiot. Pip said LBJ will fill the stat sheet better. But if you want to win it's MJ. Do you understand what that means? It's pretty simple but we can break it down for you if you need it.
I can't forget that game. In that last minute, MJ showcased everything what it takes to be a winner. Cut the lead to1, stole the ball from Malone, and nail the game-winner. The greatest part was he made it look easy. Poised and composed under great pressure. Simple tricky plays only a basketball genius can do.
@@gickdjoud8892 Gary Payton and Shaun Kemp weren't a weak team I still would put that combo up against any other combo except Shaq and Kobe. Utah had 3 point shooters, one of the best power forwards to ever play the game and one of the trickest point guards. I would put money on Utah beating the 73-9 Warriors team that had a great regular season but didn't really have that much talent. Draymond's name shouldn't be in the same sentence as Malone's but I will say that Stockton was harder to guard then Curry.
@@gickdjoud8892 you can't be an overrated basketball player & win back to back to back championships, retire for 18 months, come back & win back to back to back championships again. You're entitled to your opinion but facts are facts. When you have all-time greats saying that MJ was the greatest, it's a testament to the type of player Jordan was....by far not overrated. You don't know basketball or talent.
GOAT in 1988 - MVP, Scoring Champion, Defensive Player of the Year, Steals Leader, All-Star Game MVP, SLAMDUNK CHAMPION show me another player who did that
Major Marketing....... wilt is still great don’t get me wrong, but....... wilt ain’t even the greatest big man, I could easily name 3 big men I’ll take all day every day over wilt. If wilt played against a lot of competition besides Russell, then I’d say yeah maybe.
Mr. O maybe if he would have been his own man and carved out his own playstyle people would remember but why remember him when you can just remember the better him.
Stats just don't describe what Jordan was, and he still has comparable stats to the other two. But MJ made Scottie Pippen MJ Jr. Real talk, he made Pip so good dude made the Dream Team. And MJ's presence on the court, let alone the public, changed the game, the individual player's game and all the fans of the game. Dude just passing the ball to the player that then assisted the scorer was more than the stats can ever bare. Not only that, but dude made 3-peat happen, then left the game when his pops got murdered, then came back and 3-peated again after a year or so to re-gear, psychologically. So, you know they would've 8-peated if not for that tragedy. Idk, maybe I'm biased because he was who made me want to play and even watch basketball as a 7 year old kid, but there's no comparison.
Wanted to correct you a bit. Jordan does not only have "comparable" stats but way superior stats in playoffs and regular season. The only time people think that those other two have better stats is when they think of total cummulative stats. Those could be misleading as those are due to longevity. Dont forget MJ went to college and retired in his prime. If you look at averages and then playoff records, it is not even close. In the playoffs MJ has the most 30, 40+, 50+ games than anyone in the history of the game.
@@PED_Fraudiola Micheal played 13 years and he had 9x All Time First team defence plus 1x DPOY. Kobe played 20 years and had 9x All Time First Team. Are you really telling me that Kobe is better than MJ on defence?
@@UnoQualunque. I'm saying Kobe is not overrated defender and he has the awards to prove it. You're saying MJ is better therefore Kobe is overrated. Mj is the best, but Kobe is not overrated. He is the 2nd best sg ever and top 10 maybe top 5 player
boss dawg LeBron wouldn't let his ego get in the way of winning either like Kobe did. If LeBron was in the same situation as Kobe, he wouldn't of had demanded a trade for either him or Shaq so that he could be the main guy
S&M kegaming Tf are you on about? Kobe wasn't even in his prime yet when he three-peated with Shaq. Shaq was already 30 in his final year of the three-peat, Kobe was still only 24. If Kobe didn't demand that trade, he would've eventually became the first-option, won more rings, and got his Finals MVPs. He didn't want to wait though, so it costed both him and Shaq a Lakers dynasty. Literally, no one said what you said either.
@boss dawg Lebron has never passed Kobe, Lebron has easy walks to the finals every year, Kobe and Jordan haven’t. Those two are the real goats of basketball
Kobe was gifted many of those, specially when Wade and Allen were putting in work. Kobe had great lockdown possessions here & there but he wasn’t that good
You must not know that Jordan actually won DPOY. And in the same year was also scoring champion. Can you imagine how he played on both ends at the same time...
Hey! When Payton, KG, and even Kobe is saying that MJ is the greatest, then who are you guys to argue??? You can't even get on your varsity team let alone play in the nba and be one of the main superstars... So when legit nba superstars talk, all you got to do is listen and accept the fact! No business arguing with these guys!
The Kobe comments are ridiculous. Said it once, I’ll say it again: you can’t ask Jordan era young guys or old guys. They have ego and won’t see MJ in his proper context playing in a weak era.
Well it's true though Kobe is a pure out scorer LeBron is a Pass first MJ do it all MJ played consistent even in his later days he still gets selected in Defensive 1st team and 2nd team.
You have a Hall of Famer and a future Hall of Famer who played against and one with LBJ and Kobe..and you still dont believe their opinions. How could anyone still dispute their opinions? Shm.
Jordan once averaged 37 ppg Lol. Yea he’s definitely the best scorer of all time and for the people it was a “weak era”, kobe averaged 35 ppg in the 2005-06 season lol
Bonk Caesar In the Weak non athletic guard Era..Kobe dominated in Bruce Bowen , Raja Bell , Ron Artist , Shane Barrier, Doug Chrisi,Matt Barns, Pippen, Tony Allen, Elite Athletic All defensive team player Kobe cook..3 Eras .. Facts FOH
MJ is 6 for 6 in the finals, six finals mvps, no loses. Lebron who? Never compare a legend to a great player, seriously you have to earn that GOAT title. If you have the flu? You have to play through it, and man up. If your the best player your drive should allow you to overcome cramps. If your the GOAT? You wouldn't pull a whodini in the finals, cause that isn't an option. If your the best? Regardless of your supporting cast or game circumstance, you would rise to the occasion to score 50 in finals, or to lead your team back when there doesn't seem to way overcome the point deficit. Jordan isn't perfect, but he did these things when his team needed him most. That's why Jordan's name is always in the conversation. He was the real deal.
Lebron is one of the best in history in utilizing what he has on the floor while he’s on the floor, but they’re unable to perform without him. MJ and Kobe challenged their teammates in games and practice. As one of their teammates, you were never comfortable- and didn’t want to let them down. That’s the difference between the three. Lebron’s teammates are dependent on him (regardless of skill or stature) whereas Jordan and Kobe’s excelled out of fright, because you know who you have to stare at in the lockeroom after the game. If I own a corner store with employees, I expect that when I take a day off that the store is still operational as if I were there.
gdc615 and how many times was Kobe on nba defensive first team 12 times and lbj was on there six times a least Kobe stay with the lakers and carried that team like lbj had too go too Miami and win two rings
Julio Arroyo she’s not tryna be disrespectful. She’s being rational. Lebron is a generational talent. All 3 of them are best players of all time. You would be prejudiced to think LJ is nowhere near MJ level. Honestly, with the way he playing he’ll likely beat Kareem for all time scoring or at least Malone for second/third. What else does he have to do for you to stop dissing him? There is no goat! Jordan LJ and Kobe are the best all time; top tier. Magic, Kareem, Bill Russell, Malone, Duncan, The Dream, Bird are second. Shaq, Wade, Iverson, Dirk, Mourning, Kidd, Pippen, Payton, Thomas on the bad boys, etc. are third. In the end KD will join the second Tier players(he’ll never be first in the majority eyes unless he wins multiple rings elsewhere(Not GS and even then, he’ll be the most hated player for a while)
Gary summed it up best!!! Mike is just still on another level than Kobe and Lebron but the fact the Kobe and Lbj is even mentioned with MJ tells you how great they truly are
True, kobe is more of a scorer, LeBron is a good facilitator, but Jordan is everything. In the 80s and 90s he took over the game when he wanted to. Everyone watching just buckled up for Air Jordan cause his game takes everyone to the clouds, that's why he is black Jesus.
Most of the coaches back then were and scared when jordan moved to PG because the offense will rotate on him and the ball will always be on him so he can do whatever he pleases.
basketball is a TEAM sport first and both LeBron and Kobe prefer to play hero ball at the cost of both of them being basically uncoachable. Jordan started out playing hero ball but sacrificed his stats to play TEAM ball more under the last year of Doug Collins and first year of Phil. Kobe has always played hero ball and most of the time he succeeds because it fits his play style. LeBron started as a team player but was not successful so he saw Kobes success and started playing hero ball but hes so bad at it that it cost him numerous titles. start: jordan bench: kobe cut: lebroom
Start MJ no question. Bench Kobe in reserve for when MJ needs rest. Cut LeBron because I can't trust him to win me games when everything is on the line.
@@steveforprez03 This stat line is deceiving. I wanna know his attempts vs made. LBJ has more points than MJ too but if you look at their attempts vs made PPG not even close.
For the Fans who watched this 3 players played the game, they know what they're talking about...but those who didn't really watched them they will say the best player is their favourite...I watched them all and its clear MJ ia the Goat
The people who played against Jordan understand why Jordan is the Greatest, it is not cause of his talent but cause of his mentality. HE will take over games every time, rested tired it don t matter. Give me the ball I will score no matter what, I will defend your best player, when the game is on the line everybody knew that Jordan is going to take the last shoot but nobody could stop him cause of his instinct. He practiced the winning shot over and over again (even he says it) so in the Game he does not feel the pressure. Now Kobe is definitely respected as the closer and finisher and he is a Scorer like Payton says. And Lebron wants to elevate his team-ates more when game is on the line.
THISSSSSSS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHAT I ARGUE ABOUT WITH most People When They Bring Up Stats .. Without Stats All You Have Left Is Skillset & Mindset ! & Jordan Had That On Lock As Legendary !
Another Myth that's taking over lately that underrate MJs stats. MJ stats are incredible, esp in the playoffs. Had he played 5 more full years, no one could have broken his scoring record and he may have come close to Stockton on the steals record.
Gregor Kozelj u must not have seen lebrons game 5 the other day huh? He had yet another game saving block with seconds left..then drilled the game winner in 3 seconds
Evreything means he could score defend and do other things if need be like rebounds and assists.More all around is used in terms of triple doubles and Jordan was not a big triple double guy.
Bro its their way of not having to say Lebron is the best. Best all around means the best. Jordan was a great scorer, with good help defense, THAT IS ALL.
All of you missed the point of what Payton and KG meant when they said MJ was everything. Yous are arguing statistics, they're talking about Heart, Determination, Leadership, a Champions Mentality, etc. They're talking fundamentals and intangibles not just statistics. Thats why most people, former players, media and the general public pick Jordan over Lebron, because MJ is, was and always will be a Winner and a Champion, not just an extremely talented and unbelievable Athlete.
I think Jordan was the best all around player, he was the complete package, Dunks, Hang time, dribbling skills, Creativity, and a scorer, I do not think there will another player like Mike, the closest to Mike will be Kobe but just because Kobe stole all of MJ's moves, I have seen players that score, and dunk like crazy but none of them are close to MJ. After all of the years have past, BELIEVE ME I CAN WATCH HIS PLAYS OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND NEVER GET TIRED, HE WAS JUST FUN TO WATCH HIM PLAY, MJ IS LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON, ELVIS PRESLEY, BEETLES ETC, YOU NEVER GET BOARD OF THEIR MUSIC, SAME THING WITH MJ YOU NEVER GET BOARD OF HIS GAME!!
Cmon yall MJ had had 6 rings and 10 scoring titles, DPOY, never lost in the finals Kobe had 5 rings and 2 scoring title Lebron currently has 3 rings and 1 scoring title, no DPOY, swept twice in the finals, how much more catching up does he need to enter the GOAT conversation? He'd be greatest of all time no doubt but the GOAT is MJ, the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be!!!!!
That is what always gets lost in the debate. If we are just comparing rings Horry is the greatest but Jordan has more rings then Lebron. I think its the scoring titles that make Jordan the greatest because as you mentioned Kobe only had 2 and those were years he didn't have any help but I still think of Kobe as one of the best scorers of all time. I think that is why Durant will the closest thing to Jordan if he stays at Golden State because he'll have both scoring titles and championships. Lebron gets outscored by Durant most seasons but Durant still hasn't got to 36 ppg like Jordan did.
Not only is MJ black Jesus hes he was the bionic man of basket ball!! he could single handedly take over a game if he had to . was always in control of his game and his team and made everyone who played with him great.. this is what a great leader does. GOAT ✌️
Start MJ. - He's truly the GOAT. The things he did, the legends he destroyed, and careers he ruined. His hit list is miles long... Bench Kobe - I can trust his offense when we need it the most and he wasn't a slouch on defense. Mamba mentality! Cut Lebron - even though he's not AS! Mentally weak as years past.. he still has it in him to quit or give up. Love his ability to pass the rock, and get others involved. Great longevity.. but I can get great passers anywhere to feed MJ the rock. Gotta cut LBJ
With Mike, you need a defensive team around him and he will do the rest. With Kobe, you need a reliable big man that can score in the paint and can crash the boards. With LeBron, you need 4 shooters on the court so he could kick out when the defense collapse on him when he drives. Your pick.
SIMPLE FACTS... LeBron = playing in a soft league that calls fouls for everything, there's a 3 second rule that prevents centers from protecting the basket, there's no hand checking that frees up the offensive players to make the initial move and it's now European ball which means it's a perimeter game that opens up the lanes. Doesn't anyone take these things into consideration? If Michael Jordan were playing in today's league with all things considered, he would literally DESTROY IT!!! They couldn't stop him them under way tougher rules back then, let alone now. Enough with comparing stats between him and LeBron unless you want to take factor those things in. Wisen up you Y2K fools!.
@@Top-Kek If those rules don´t change, MJ, would have won less but still goat tho, and right now we only would have a new version of Larry Jonhson in LeBron with CERO chips if he´s the alpha of his team.
Carolina Reaper lebron was drafted on 2003 that league was still physical the 2010s was the soft era 2000s was hybrid and 90s was physical era but today has better athletes but nah lebron played in the physical era his first 7 years
Kevin Belcher kobe never said LeBron the greatest bruh.. He said he'd rather play with LeBron because of there playing style.. U LeBron fans always lying..lol
I have no bias, Lebron is my favorite player but Jordan will forever be the GOAT because he was the first player we had ever seen like him, Kobe is great because of his scoring ability and Lebron is great because he is everything you want in a basketball player.. with that being said we need to stop comparing their individual greatness because they all brought something to the game that we all can appreciate.
Ik this comment was 3 years ago but how would we see a player like him before him? basketball players played before MJ that were considered the GOAT “wilt will forever be the GOAT he was the first player we ever seen like him” how dumb does this sound?
You have to understand that lebron needs to do alot for his team he has to be the pg the scorer the facilitator and everything. I cant blame him for not playing defense at times but plays great defense when the game is on the line.
Just look at KG eyes when he said "I swear to god dawg" that's just not fear that's terror, MJ scarred him. Out of all sports i've never seen that look from former greats talking about their opponents.
Kobe outscored a team 62-61 in 3 quarters how wouldn't he do what Gary Payton said about taking over yall forgot or just utmost respect for MJ that no one can say anything bad
Balša Nicović MJ and Kobe were never asked to do everything just score and defend if they were playing now they would probably be putting up Westbrook numbers with more scoring
I'd cut Lebron. He's the more well rounded player but the other two are greater players. Ppl have a hard time differentiating between all around and greatest
Well rounded player just means can do everything above average NBA level. People tend to assume better all around/more well rounded means greatest at everything it doesn't. My all-time list atm would be #1. Jordan, #2 Kobe, #3 Kareem, #4 LBJ When LBJ career is over he will most likely be going up but its not over yet if he was to retire today there is no way I could put him #2 or #1. So I would most def cut him first.
clo 1014 Bron is Better then love in almost every single way and statistic dude. If Bron has a Shaq he would’ve had more the 5 rings because he would’ve made Shaq even better.
If Jordan and LeBron both visited a mall at the same time and were at opposite ends of the mall...everyone in the mall would be on Jordans side. LeBron would be left with the crickets.
@@damilareajani5747 only young uneducated kids argue that lebron is the greatest, he is just one of. The only thing he will go down as is the greatest loser if he adds a couple more finals Ls....
The Difference why Lebron had better stats is because he plays how he wants, he is positionless and he had a free flowing offense not a Triangle offense Kobe and Jordan had
Lebron isn't in a free flowing offense. There is definitely no flow. The ball sits with him as he dribbles at the top of the 3 point line until there is 5-7 seconds left on the clock. Then he either shoots with the possibility of scoring or passes it to a teammate where they have to shoot the ball and he can get the assist. There is zero ball movement. By far the most boring to watch.
Dennis Cruz This thing about lebron being versatile and making his teammates better is somewhat off. Most of lebron’s significant teammates were established stars by themselves and statistical-wise actually performed worse when played with lebron. People only saying he makes his teammates btter because he passes, but thats it they stand in one corner and wait for his pass - that to me is not making them better.
Whirling Dervich you are absolutely correct. I don't understand how these "experts and analysts " never bring this up. Nobody has ever become a better player after playing with LBJ.
Whirling Dervich Please name the players who decreased their performance with Lebron. Meanwhile, here are the players who performed well with Lebron. - Kyle Korver is performing better in cavs. - Kevin love maintained good stats when transferred to cavs (17.6 pts, 9.3 reb, 1.7 ast). Past team mates. - Kyrie irving certainly performed very well with Lebron. - Back in miami, no issues in performance with wade and bosch.
