Areej Le Dore Cuir de Russie (2020) Early Impression  

I'm a bit high. The single malt WHISKY ain't bad as well. Now I'm confessing things I shouldn't 😅. But on a more serious note, please indulge me in making a toast 🥃 to the Ram. Long shall he live. Amen. What a special human being. Ram, keep ya head up, believe me better days are just around the corner. I was in the same boat 5 years ago. Lost everything, literally everything, but got everything back in multiple folds. Ain't that a thing. That was God. All I know is, since I came across your channel bout 8 months ago, you've added something to my life. Something I never thought was possible. Vintages! I'm 50, bought my fragrances mostly artisans and niche, of course with a few designers, in the same perfumery for 25 years 😂. Of course I bought some bottles in different airports around the world. Or in any given city I find myself in the world. The perfumery, the cigar store and the whisky store. In that order please 😂. As always Ram, the urge to say thanks. Thanks Ram. Can't believe my luck, been constantly on the hunt for 8 months now, on a daily basis. Whenever I see those vintages I now have in my collection, some rare vintage gems, some in their original formulations, can't believe my luck, I just say thanks Ram. Because of Ram I now possess a vintage Chanel Cuir de Russie. Just imagine that. A fragrance I cared less about back in the days, now I can't do without.

I fortunately have 4 bottles of this beautiful composition,one is definitely yours mate,I also have 4 bottles of Grandenia which’s one of my all times favourites

I wore vintage Antaeus yesterday and vintage Bel Ami the day before. Today I wore Creed's Royal oud. Tomorrow, an Areej. Great review Ramsey.

And Cuir de Russie garment perfume was my favourite Areej till date ! Now it’s gonna be CUIRTIS 💯 Adam nailed the MUSK collection 🤩🔥 I’m super excited for you to receive the sample set soon and hear your thoughts on it!

Amazing. I bought the discovery set, and did exactly what you’re not supposed to do with Cuir De Russie. I’m still standing.

I could not pass up the opportunity to grab a bottle of this. So damn good. I’ve worn this on skin and short-cropped hair, however in smallish doses and infrequently since it’s already so potent. It probably won’t harm you unless you’re bathing in it regularly. And like you, I implore Adam to make a skin-friendly version of this composition. Signature-worthy for sure.

Well….I’ve been wearing it only on skin & I’ll keep doing it…hahaha….i think it wouldn’t cause you harm unless you’re swimming in it….this is purely CYA….

Cuir de russie was my 1st full bottle from ALD, and what an amazing purchase that was! Sprayed few times on my skin as well without any issues, though i wouldn't suggest that to anyone! But on skin it develops better, you can detect the different facets more clearly. This is a 9/10 fragrance for me, deducting one point cuz I find it a touch too sweet. But overall, what a fragrance!

Great review as always , agreed this is wonderful . If you have not tried it though you must try Cuir de Russie by Anna Zworykina. Her stuff is all natural and really great but her Cuir de Russie is up there with her best

This is one of my favourite fragrances in my entire collection. I own four fragrances by Russian Adam (too few, to be honest), and I find this one to be the most breathtaking. Funnily enough, the first bottle I received had a faulty sprayer - I'd be lucky to get a tenth of a regular amount to come out if anything came out at all. Despite my initial disappointment and fretting, getting it replaced turned out to be one of the smoothest return processes I've ever gone through in my entire life - their customer service was very communicative and overall just exemplary. It's been awhile, so now you've got me all excited to wear this for my evening scent, tonight!

Ah yes , I was waiting to see your reaction to this one ,and I wasn’t disappointed 😅. I do wear this one on occasion and yes on skin, gingerly at first but it’s fine on my skin ,although I keep it on exposed skin and refrain from spraying under shirts,or vests to allow it to breath and radiate . Yes it’s a special fragrance not for everyone but it’s a grail rough and ready leather for the ages ✌️🙏👍

I received the Chinese oud perfume today that I ordered last month and god what a perfume. We are lucky I should say. No wonder it sold out within hours on his website. I did smell his cuir de Russie and I loved it too. These perfumes are made only for people like us.

Shoutout to the great Russian Adam ! He is the only Adam I believe in. I trust you Ram that this is a masterpiece for a true leather lover and one day I will try it. Speaking about Russian Leather, you have a decant of discontinued Russian Leather (Russkaya Kozha, which, by the way, is my Scent Of This Day) by the house of Berdoues, and I'm sure subscribers would like to hear your opinion of that one. It's quite simple and linear but fine. I understand Eugen's love for the modern version of Chanel's Cuir de Russie, but I suppose the vintage is amazing. Now, the real challenge is to find vintage Cuir de Russie by Guerlain and Creed. Thank you for this short review, full of your true enjoyment. You deserve to have a full bottle of such a piece. One of the very few Areej frags that I've smelled. Too old school and too hardcore for me. It's like smelling some ancient purse full of ancient makeup from grand-grand-grand-grand-grandparents house. And when I've smelled it I was wondering what kind of person would wear it in our day and age, now I know... 🙃 Really want to smell Chanel's Cuir de Russie one day.

Hell I'll take a nosegasm over the fact that it's a garment perfume any day. Russian leather easily my favourite kind of leather. I have a very strong connection to white birch myself. Spiritual you might say. Here's to the smell of forbidden knowledge in ancient leather-bound books. 📖 Illuminate the way forward. ☀

Hoping that it would make a return in the future collection

It really is a superb CDR imo and I've not worn it on skin either... and yet if I were to have my pre-70s fragrances tested some will come back with carcinogenic / toxic compounds in them e.g. styrene, benzyl acetate, limonene, methylene chloride, phthalates, heavy metals like lead & mercury, also asbestos has been found in old perfumes from the filters they used, and I'd bet most vintage CDR perfumes will have crude birch tar in them 🤷‍♂️... so if my vintage frags don't get me, eatiing carcinogenic chips, bbq, pickles, cereals will! 🤣

You know a perfume is transcendent when the first word to describe it is, "F*ck."
