She actually knew how to use it . Birkin looks very tbh very old and very mom bag and unless you treat it as a shit and makes you show that you actually don't care and can do whatever and that's actually very free and joyful feeling . To even see that you're treating your Birkin like shit and putting everything in it like a regular bag. A BAG SHOULD BE TREATED AS A BAG NOT LIKE JEWELRY.
She first wanted it bc she'd had a baby! It was a "Mum's bag!"🙄🤭🙏💜 & it WAS the 1970s - what are you doing; besides stating the blatantly obvious - & bossing everybody arround! Nobody said any bag was jewellery - calm down🙏💜
Seriously. Like the point of the bag as all bags is to be used so what good is it if it’s not being thoroughly used? It was originally a mom bag and it’s a luxury item so you know it’s going to be able to handle the use as well as still retain some value even with wear and tear. If you can’t afford it, and many of us can’t ofc myself included, maybe it really is better to just get a good looking replica so you’re not waiting your money to pussyfoot around and baby what’s essentially just a chic diaper bag.
That makes sense. Cause Birkins are UGLY as hell. Not saying mommy bags are always ugly, but these bags (especially for the price) are so unbelievably overrated. People will pay anything to appear cooler than they are. 🤦♀️
That checks out. I bought leather and made a mock up of the birkin design to make a diaper bag. It's very spacious, even though the leather is soft is is very durable and easy to clean. ❤
Old money people will buy a 6000 bag, and then proudly use the crap out of it. It’s actually a status symbol to have “quality” worn in items. They will continuously get it repaired before buying a new one. That’s why old money people will be proud of their 20,000 couch, that they have had since the 70s. It means they have good taste for timeless quality items. Babying items, means you’ve purchased something shoddy, based on name and looks alone.
@Be yes, it also means you don't have money to replace it/have it repaired, if you are truly afraid of it being ruined then that means you couldn't really afford it to start with
Birkin bags are insanely expensive for bags that look and are very normal. Only the brand makes it that expensive. Get a normal good quality bag and use it up to get the worn out and full of personality aesthetic. I also went thru a "omg the Birkin lady makes her bags look so cool, i want one!" and ended up just going to the store and buying myself a nice $40 black bag and it's been my proudest posession lmao. I've had it for a while so it's very used and I decorated tf out of it so it screams me. You don't need a specific brand to do anything
@@elielis6 Word! I love a good bag, but a real Birkin's price is ridiculous. I do not believe any bag is worth 10k. That said, I don't mind a dupe or inspired bag.
well, it makes sense that the bag looks so lived-in. it was literally made for her because she couldn’t find a leather bag she liked enough to carry around everyday as a day bag, so they made one for her
The bags are designed after their name sakes to be as useful and convinient as possible. The Hermes family were originally harness makers for carriages. While their craftsmanship is incredible their pieces are usually made to be used, not made to be glorified
I bet y’all don’t know the lady on the bag. She’s a President of Myanmar, more like a hero to us. But now she got arrested by military and we’r under military coup.
@@Thepateisgreat she’s the daughter of a nationally respected leader, General Aung San. just like her father, she strives for freedom and peace in our country for many many years. she is also a Nobel Peace Price Winner, but as of now, we don’t know what has happened to her ever since she was taken away by the military on the first of February, 2021. the whole country fought and protested but even over 2 years, nothing has quite changed. some predict that if nothing happens, Myanmar would slowly turn into the second North Korea in a few decades. it’s a struggle to live here, as they cut off the electricity around 6 hours daily, or whenever they feel like it. villages and towns are being bombed on a monthly/ weekly basis and lives of countless innocent citizens have been taken away, especially during the first few months of this crisis. it’s no surprise that this is not talked about enough, Myanmar is a third-world country. hopefully this will all resolve soon, we don’t know what to expect. i hope you learned a thing or two
She’s the one who inspired and improved the bag. The designer called her and asked her if she would help and she said yes when she realized mothers don’t have diaper bags that are fashionable enough.
Everyone who buys and collects bags these days buy to collect and then hold it’s value by not “ruining” them. That’s mostly why you see so many collectors of birkins just sitting in perfect condition in peoples closest, because down the line they probably hope to make a profit from selling it. They care more about money than the enjoyment of the bag. 🤷🏼♀️ I get doing it with birkins cause the price is SO much I understand it being bought as a collectible. But you see people doing it with many other brands too and THATS when it becomes kinda sad and dull in my eyes haha
I’m so happy about the Aung San Suu Kyi sticker! As a Burmese, it’s nice to see big names support her. For context, there is a coup happening in Myanmar again and ASSK who is a Nobel prize laureate at the age of 75 is in prison again for false charges.
My aunt moved to France and she refused to buy expensive french designer handbag even when they're on sale, she said "bag is a bag designer or not, I'd rather use the money to travel around this beautiful country" she travels around france and europe and make articles about them. Let me tell you, I'm more jealous of her photos and stories than my cousin's Louis Vuitton collection 😂
@@deniealnieal1037 if it wasn’t for her, Myanmar would have been under a coup since then. U barely know anything abt our country’s condition please don’t speak on matters you don’t know the full story of
@@Estherysx yes she did that but what she did during her reign?? She completely ignoring the genocide that happened in her own soil, when push to speak up about it she brush it off and refused to give a statement. She and the whole country preach about freedom but completely fine when one ethnic brutality being wiped out, its fine because its not you guys who suffered right ? But now when the whole country suffer you guys revert back to begged the whole nation to help. Already forgot what you did when you taste a little bit of freedom ???
@@deniealnieal1037 see? I told u so. Is that all you are aware of abt this matter? If that’s what u’ve read and believe. I’m not even gonna try. There’s still more to the events, dozens of pages worth. But to be clear, the civilians of Myanmar do not applaud or condone genocide. Idk where ur sources are from but this is not a one-layer matter of “oh, she ignored”
@@Estherysx this is exactly the same response i get from her supporter you guys didn't even try to clear her name cause you know theres blood in her hands, everyone acknowledged that she worked hard to be where she is but you can't ignore the fact that she's fine with wicked things that happened during her reign so longs as she can still maintain her seats Here's a quote from your beloved suu kyi " It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it, and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those, who are subject to it. " She lived long enough to become the one she's quoting Her ambition to See Myanmar become a free and prosperous country is worth to be honoured but the things she's willing to sacrifice to get it is not ethical for someone who " supposedly " being oppressed. She spreading lies telling its fake news when the genocide news broke out, A FULL BLOWN GENOCIDE happened in your own SOIL and you claimed it to be fake news ?? She didn't even give a shit and apologise to her fellow neighbouring country's that had to deal with her own shit
Notice how Birkin bags look like a tote? It's because it was designed to be used as momma bag; putting diapers, feeding bottles, milk, and a distilled water in it. I get that people these days collect Birkin but I miss the time where bags are actually being used. The only designer brands I know people actually use these days on an almost everyday basis are LV, Gucci, Dior, and Chanel especially their travel bags.
she made it specifically for that purpose. She wanted a bag big enough to hold everything that a regular woman wants. it's kind of crazy how it's a bag meant to be used but is now more of a collector's item.
That’s how it should be used. The point is to use it and enjoy it. It will become part of your daily existence. That’s the point of luxury. Not to stay on a shelf in a dust bag until you die and someone thrifts your post Morten donated luxury and it shows up as part of a haul in a YT video.
Very nonchalant but she can afford it with this Hermès bag that wears her name anyways. For people with regular means I would advice to get a more affordable bag. I personally like Longchamp
My mom’s classic Luis Vuitton bag functions just like her Birkin bag. It filled with all types of knickknacks and receipts but you always find what you need.
It’s honestly the biggest flex to have a beat up Birkin because that just says “I have enough money to treat this hella expensive ‘investment’ bag like crap and it doesn’t hurt my bank balance”
love how y’all are like “see that’s how u use the bag” if I’m paying 100k for a bag best believe it’s for investment and not touched. She can get a new one the next day free she doesn’t care 💀
She didn’t pay for it, that’s why she’s more careless with it. I have a ysl bag and been using it daily for almost half a year now- and it unfortunately shows.

Actually woman on the sticker of her birkin is novel prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi who was falsely arrested when Myanmar military coup was happened. Our country is in a shit situation because of coup now. It's been oven two years since the coup happended so as a myanmar citizen im just surprised to see someone show support to our leader even if it's just a sticker. That's so nice of her
I'd love to have a bag like this I can only ever find stiff ass bags that only look good inside your closet lmao I wamna have a cute leather bag I can actually use
