Biography of Barenziah, v3. I was just reading books in Skryrim and found more information about the lore of this story. It explains how the key and portal came to be in the first part of the game. You can find it in Halted Stream camp near Whiterun.

I’ve no idea how anyone could finish ESO. I know we’re talking main quests but there’s so much content it’s almost overwhelming.

The more of these videos I watch, the more I'm convinced 90% of elder scrolls lore was written to account for mistakes and retcons.

Hey there's a book in Morrowind that tells this story, it's titled the Biography of Queen Barenziah.

You said the eternal champion was a nobody in the imperial prison for an unexplained reason, but I remember something about the hero being a former member of the imperial council, banished for treachery of the emperor. If I remember correctly, it mentioned something about them finding out about jagar tharns plan, but no one believed him and thought it was their own sinister plot, hence the banishment

I see that not alot of people played the online version. I have to say that even though I trash talked the game alot for the combat the game is worth a buy on a steam sale, just buy as little of it not all the expansions, decide after a month of playing if it's a game for you, you'll thank me later. The game is cheap as hell if you catch a sale.

Ain’t it kinda dumb of Tharn to put the pieces of the Staff all over Tamriel in relatively famous dungeons? I mean, for all the effort that would take and the risk of some random adventurer (ahem) finding them, he could’ve just buried them deep underground or thrown them into a plane of Oblivion as well. I know it’s just a game whose lore was half-baked at best but this has always bothered me about Arena.

First Part for Staff of Chaos: Fang Lair at Hammerfell Me: Huh, didn't ESO had a place called Fang Lair? *Looks it up on uesp* Oh hey, they do that's cool and it's located at...Bangkorai? Is that a part of Hammerfell or High Rock, it seems pretty high north and north eastern than it to be at Hammerfell so idk? Second Part for Staff of Chaos: Labyrinthian of Skyrim Me: Although we can't come here in ESO we still can come here in Skyrim so hey there's a slightly good mention back to Arena I suppose. Third Part for Staff of Chaos: Elden Grove of Valenwood Me: Seems like a big area to search in since it's quite literally a forest, no mention of it anywhere other than in Arena so I'm just assuming that the entire forest of Valenwood is Elden Grove or the perimeter of Elden Root's forest is Elden Grove, anyone care to add to this? Fourth Part for Staff of Chaos: Halls of Colossus of Elsweyr Me: Hey it's in ESO and they made a little quest involving one of the descendants of the Tharns, that's pretty nifty. Fifth Part for Staff of Chaos: Crystal Tower of Summerset Isle Me: Summerset DLC, enough said. Sixth Part for Staff of Chaos: Crypt of Hearts of High Rock Me: Yep this is a place in ESO and it's a group dungeon no less, so have fun with that folks Seventh Part for Staff of Chaos: Murkwood of Black Marsh Me: Unfortunately like Elden Grove there's no mention of a place like this, but there is a place called Murkmire so...that's close enough right? Final Part for Staff of Chaos: Red Mountain of Vvardenfell(Morrowind) Me: Well good news we can go to the Red Mountain, bad news I have no idea where tf the cave for Dagoth Ur would be at? There's Balmora which if you go about say NNE of that place you "supposedly" going to the direction of Dagoth Ur, but since no place exist in that DLC I'm just assuming that the place is just flooded with molten magma until the time ES3:M comes rolling in to play. So that's you're tour destination for those who want to experience Arena as best you can without playing the actual game.

Love your stuff, I know it must be time consuming but it would be awesome if you made more elder scrolls lore videos.

Can't wait for the daggerfall video we got daggerfall unity now so it should be way funner to play than it used to be

This is great man. I don't think I'll go back to play the DOS games, but I went back to play Oblivion after playing Skyrim and currently playing ESO, and I love every minute of Oblivion. Eventually I'll go back to play Morrowind.

Interesting story, as I was watching I was trying to imagine how things would appear with those graphics at the time... Probably stuff wouldnt be as epic as nowadays xD Interesting how I recognize the name Tharn from Elder Scrolls Online. But that game happens in the 2E so it must be predecessors of this Tharn :o

thank you for the video. wants to learn everything happend before oblivion and skyrim (playing elder scrolls for the first time now, started with skyrim, will play oblivion next) Tried this game, but couldnt even kill a rat :P Looked up some walkthroughs, didnt find any with commentery and was hard to follow the story, so this video was amazing, to catch up with the story

0:51 - I started with Oblivion. Then played Arena, then played Morrowind and then finally played Skyrim. I picked up Oblivion for my birthday the year it released (I was in high school at the time). Oblivion quickly became my second favourite game ever after playing it. And I couldn't get enough of it, so I tried Arena (which I was able to get for free, hence why I tried that first) and then tried Morrowind (which I bought on the cheap in my local game store shortly afterwards). And then, obviously, a few years later Skyrim came out and I played that on launch. I have to say though, I only played a little bit of Arena and Morrowind. For Arena that game is very, very dated. Morrowind is less dated but there were some things that didn't quite work for me with Morrowind. The lack of regenerating magicka is one such thing, having to read big texts is another such thing. I like reading but when I'm in the mood to read I sit down and read a book. When I'm playing a game I don't want to spend hours reading, I want to be actually playing the game. And I know many people love there not being a quest compass in Morrowind, and that's fine, but I have to say that for me personally that really annoyed the hell out of me. There were so many moments where I just wanted to advance with the story and instead I'm searching for the "5th house on the left in Balmora" or something. All of it annoyed me enough that I eventually quit the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Morrowind is a great game and reading up on its lore is fascinating, but that stuff really didn't make it a pleasant experience for me. I'm hoping that Skywind will give me an opportunity to experience a version of the game and story that doesn't have all of those things.

If Arena and Daggerfalls movement and combat controls weren't so damn awful I'd actually finish them. They're worse than the Witcher 1's combat and that's saying something

Arena: Your adventure starts as a prisoner in a cell. Daggerfall: Your adventure starts in a cave. Morrowind: Your adventure starts as a prisoner on a boat. Oblivion: Your adventure starts as a prisoner in a cell. Skyrim: Your adventure starts as a prisoner about to be executed. How much you want to bet that TES6 will have us start our journey as a prisoner?

You dont finish an online game

The key that was luckily in the reach of the champion was put there by a guard bribed by Barenziah, Queen of Morrowind.

It's unfortunate EXTREME large portions of the first two elder scrolls games, by content, lore, religion, beasts, and other things are retcon. Multiple stuff is never seen again in terms of certain types of weapons and spells. Example who remembers the Mithril weapons?

The Elder Scrolls series started nearly a quarter of a century ago, nearly two and a half decades ago, nearly twenty-five years ago or nearly one fourtieth of a millenia ago.

arena was actually easier and more fun for me to play than daggerfall out of the earlier games i didnt like the timed quest thing in es2 and big dungeons which i got lost in a lot but arena was fun cuz u could use passwall through dungeons and make your own passage and the raised platforms in it which u could jump onto to rest in and get away from enemies to help fight them easier and go through the dungeon on the high platforms away from the enemies i was able to complete arena but not daggerfall

Fun fact we know that jagar tharn was emperor for many years before urielle septim was freed if you remember skyrim one of the loading screens says that jagar tharn impersonated the emperor for years
