Iv been correlating the elder scrolls with historical mythology and the high elves play there Germanic roles well lol but I also think the argonians are a metaphorical depiction of the Amazonian tribes that worshiped the annunaki and drink ayahuasca which is kinda like the hist in a way 🤔 the depth of your videos have helped me in ways the console games oblivion and skyrim could not, so I thank you greatly for presenting your findings 👍 good work
I will never forget my first wife in Elderscrolls. I came home from a bunch of adventuring and she told me "We walk on warm sands". It felt like "I love you".
No. It'll be the worst, and the Khajiit culture will be dumbed down to basically just stereotypical Africa. Todd did shit like this to the Nords. He did this to Cyrodiil. He will do it to Elsweyr.
@@ksquidplaysminecraft There's already 2 ESO dlc set in Elsweyr, one in Anequina and one in most of Pelletine, it represented Khajiit society quite faithfully. This wasn't by Bethesda though and despite ESO's early faults their recent DLCs have been rather faithful although Summerset imo could've represented the Altmer architecture differently. Khajiits in the game use architecture remniscent of South East Asia but the culture otherwise is as described by lore.
why dude? they have their own agenda and the altmer thinking they are the higher race isnt just osme fake shit they are in fact purer than the rest, sure they act like dicks about it but its still fucking fact which makes me like them because they arent bullshitting
In Elder Scrolls lore, we have Sithis the Dread Lord. We also have Pelagius the Mad, which sounds like Plagueis the Wise. I think it's safe to say you had some Star Wars fans in the lore department.
I once read that Khajiit can go to and from the moons of they want to. There are even Khajiit colonies living there. To clarify, you can breathe in space in Elder Scrolls. The nature of space in the Elder Scrolls universe simply tries to make you forget that you can breathe. If you are uneffected, you can live out there. Or so I've heard from lorecasts
There are a lot of Elder Scrolls lore videos on RU-vid but yours are by far the best. The visual presentation makes them not only easier to digest, but also very entertaining. Keep up the good work ^^
Isnt there a guy in one elder scrolls game that casts a spell then immediately gets launched into the heavens or am I tripping. Cause if so, just ask that guy for training.
"Skooma is dangerous and highly addictive drug." Me after using 100 bottles of skooma because my stamina potion ran out: "Understandable, have a great day."
They speak to Trees, Are born from Trees, Live in a swamp, Have an Assassin Cult known as thy Shadowscales, and fucked up dem Daedra and Dunmer real good, Done.
Just look up the culture and beliefes of the old greeks, celts, native americans, and you will find some more...history is very fascinating whenn looking at the old old societies
@joe mcnoe If you knew the lore and understood that elder scrolls lore is not set in stone than you would not have said. Want to be lore masters are always the ones that know of the lore less.
@joe mcnoe the are some small mistakes in some dialogs and things like books from the future But nothing huge. ESO staff try to communicate with lore guys from bethesda and, unlike you i guess, try to read and learn the lore
I swear to god there are only 2 types of people "Khajiit are awesome, the way they speak is so wise and enthralling." "iF yOu LiKe kHaJiIt TheN yOu ArE a FuRrY!"
I do believe the Khajit’s “journey to the moons” speaks of a spiritual quest similar to native Americans taking Ayahuasca, I believe they took some form of moon sugar which induced a meditative/hallucinogenic state that also poisoned the body(like the bad effects of skooma), in which usually only one member survived the ordeal and became the next spiritual leader. The point of all this being to speak with the gods.
What if the “journey to the moon” is a metaphor for the mane canidits attempting to achieve Chim? That would explain why only one returns and why they become enlightened. The others disappear from existence as they do not maintain individualality when viewing the tower.
That may be true, but it being a LITERAL trip to the moons isn’t out of the question. Spaceflight is absolutely a thing in TES, hell, in their hayday even the Argonians had spacecraft (also the most powerful weapons ever built, but that’s off-topic). It’s mostly Lost-Technology by the time of the games, but it proves it’s possible.
I think there were no kittens during the void nights. Like, they would be born already dead and/or mutated. But if that was true, there should be some books about it, bc lack of kittens for 2 years would horribly affect society. What if the moons didn't disappear, but just became invisible?
I think, the fact that moons eventually came back after two years means that they were not destroyed and still could influence the kittens appearance although the cat people couldn't see the moons
Imagine a whole The Elder Scrolls open-world game with the whole timeline and natural responses (by a very advanced AI) to your actions throughout your journey. You're free to go to a specific point in time where the behavior of the world is shaped by the current events in the lore. You can choose to be whoever you want. You can do whatever you want, although you have to proceed with caution. Just imagine...
Falmer is the name of the Snow Elves. Falmer literally translates into Snow Elf in the language of the Mer. Knight-Paladin Gelebor said that he no longer called them the Falmer, but the Betrayed as they were so twisted and changed that he could no longer find any kinship with them. I hope this clears somethings up.
I had just finished watching your other TES Lore videos and went to your channel to subscribe when I saw you just posted this one today! (: Thank you, and keep up the great work, these videos are great.
They need a single player elder scrolls that encompasses the entire map with extreme detail and unique/accurate creatures. They could also include the other continents and planes of existence for extra brownie points. Imagine an entire game where you got a feel for the whole world in one time period. You could choose where to start and the factions and Main and side quests are different per location and there is an overarching quest
I love that ESO changed it to where Alfiq can talk. They are my favorite khajiit to talk to, and i stop and talk to every one I see. Because they are very amusing.
Earned a sub man! Great videos; been watching a few and they are, for lack of better term, great Tamrielic encyclopedias! Can you perhaps do Argonians next?
I don't understand one thing - "How did khajiit culture rise?" If there are bipedal intelligent Suthay, Cathay, Omhes and quadrupeds, unable to speak and make things (because of paws) Senche, Alfiq, Pahmar and others in one family... I mean, how they teach their children? For example, Alfiq can't talk and so they can't teach their Suthay children, and Suthay can't teach Alfiq, because they can't talk and have only paws, not hands to make things. Most of the country should not even be tribes, rather more like cavemen, but worse without continuity of generations... Rising of khajiits is an accident, to rise they needed to breed often in hope that Suthay, Cathay or Omhes would be born, and parents could teach their children. Until they found out what each phase of the Moons is doing, and then the whole variety of khajiits will disappear (except for those who live in jungles, not in towns), because "Why you need to give birth to a cat-like Alfiq, if you really can plan 6,5 ft (2 m) strong anthropomorphic Cathay-raht!?"
think the feral based ones can talk but choose not to. like why reveal you can talk so can observe with every one thinking your a normal cat or pet cat.
I love this video; it's definitely one of my favorite Khajiit lore videos. I just wanted to point out that UESP and Elder Scrolls Wiki list Masser as Jode and Secunda as Jone, in case anyone else was thrown off at 2:23 like I was. :-) Thank you for putting it all together!
It would be awesome if the next Elder scrolls game involves discovering a secret city of Lilmothiit who were thought to have been extinct due to an epidemic only for you to find out they have hidden cities all over Tamriel. God I wonder what their armor, weapons, and other exports were like.
I don't - making such a game would be extremely difficult, and we could presume that most of the map would be nothingness of nothingsland, also, they should save that for the last TES game.
@@ogalo1653 I agree. I have no issue that the ES games so far ( Not including ESO ) have only tooken place in one region. Just imagine the quality they would have to take out of everything else if they were to make it so you could play in all the regions.
i dont agree i think its gunna be very difficult, game would be fucking shitty because its all in one which would force them to not do much detailing like they did in skyrim
I just started my first Khajiit character* tonight, about 3 hours ago, and then youtube recommends me this. That's some creepy shit, RU-vid. *(I called him Grau Meow)
I find ES easier to get into ... but, saying it puts it to shame is ridiculous. Tolkien was first, and had little to draw on to build a world from, furthermore, there was less time/man power put into his work than ES. Comparing the two is like saying modern airplanes put the Wright brothers to shame. Sure modern airplanes are cooler and more advance... but let's get real here... the Wight brother's accomplishment will always be more impressive, because they were the first and had only limited resources and a dream.
I'm not sure what your sources are for the breeds of khajiit, but it appears that you just looked at some Legends cards. Because according to actual lore, the Pahmar are quadrupeds similar to the Senche, and the Dagi, while relatively unknown, are thought to be small tree dwelling quadrupeds. In addition your silhouette of a Tojay depicts a quadruped but they are bipeds that live in the southern jungles. And your whole Ohmes being connected to the altmer thing sounds as if to have come entierly from one line of some book or dialogue interaction, and it really makes no sense and is completely implausible for the reasons you stated, not a 'maybe'. Then finally when you get to the kingdoms of Anequina and Pellatine, you claim they are the only 2, when this is untrue. They are by far the two largest, but some independent city states still exist (for example the eastern city of Rimmen which has some very interesting lore which involves the Akaviri should you want to look it up).
