I was at the event, and I have to say, the cheer for Faker was the loudest cheer I’ve heard for anything ever. I don’t think the broadcast truly captured just how loud the cheering was. We couldn’t even hear Dash announce his name. Gave me chills.
I mean, maybe for now. But there will be others, like it or not. Its like saying Larry Bird would be the greates player of all time. Some people still say it but they are weird lol.

But I think what Faker has accomplished is damn near untouchable, just looking at his wiki is insane. 3 World titles, 2 being back to back, 1 with an MVP. Owning LCK practically every year being a 10x LCK Champ, 2x LCK MVP, 1 LCK finals MVP. 2x All Pro team. 2 time MSI champ with 1 MVP also. IEM champ, Rift rivals champ, All stars invitational champ, NLB champ, won gold medalist at the 2022 Asian Games. Even putting his accolades aside, his impact is untouched, a 10+ year career where you were always in contention for best mid laner in itself is crazy enough. He's even changed the game with his unique champion picks in pro play over the years, I believe he's at like 70+ "unique" champion selects and has shown self consistency whether his team was winning trophies or not. To put into perspective his dominance, I started playing League for fun when I was in 6th grade, where he was coming off his first World's win. Fast forward I'm a Junior in college now and he is still playing in a World's competing for the trophy. He is basically the Michael Jordan of League of Legends, not Larry Bird, his name will always be attached to League of Legends.
This man showed the world what was possible way before anyone else could. He is the best thing that has ever happened to the game, and there's a good chance no one will come close. Whatever happens next - thank you, Faker.

Faker is the only reason I pay any attention to LoL esports. I literally don't even play the game. But he has captivated me and by extension I have become captivated by the whole of T1. I am really hoping they find a way to steel their mental after the loss they had at LCK and of course Worlds 2022 and come into this coming Worlds strong and ready to take the championship. They are capable, but the team aside from Faker need to work on their fortitude and learn how to stay cool and confident even when things look like they're falling apart. But even if they don't win this year either, and even after his retirement, Faker will always be the GOAT in my eyes. No one else can take his legacy away from him, nor replace him.
EDG beat DK and GENG. FPX beat IG...and "FNC" xdd. I thought of going back more but realized T1 won most of those early titles which means that there weren't any other World Champions to beat

Look at it from this perspective, T1 still has a vitrine will all their trophies, but everyone from the 2013,15,16,17 are out of T1, yet T1 still has the right to hold their trophies as well as titles. In fact, if you beat DRX now, you didn't beat World champs as the players, but you did beat World champs as organization, but it just isnt as valid right.

I think the compare is invalid because if you talk about the best in basketball, some say MJ, some say Lebron, some maybe Kobe, Kareem. But when asked who is the best in LOL, there's only one and only Faker himself

Every game and sport has that one goat that you always think of when the game/sport is mention. Faker is the equivalent of tupac to the rap game, michael jordan to basketball, messi to soccer etc etc man name is edge in history forever.

I don't think people understand how hard it is to win worlds just once, imagine 3 times. Yes they will have many opportunities but not infinite and winning 3 times is just absurd so, maybe we won't get another faker in many years
T1 fan converted to DRX fan after semis here, insane worlds run by them but after seeing keria and faker’s expressions I really need to contribute my own thoughts into why they lost: 1, and most importantly: WHY THE F*** DID THEY NOT BAN AATROX?! They did so against 369, why not now especially considering aatrox’s insane performance in game 4?! Or they can also pick yone as a prio pick? 2, why not caitlyn? Was the drafting coach not expecting drx to release it? Wtf is keria doing on karma? No team fight engage. Keria is a smart player, he should be the one engaging and on aoes and ccs. 3, this is the most unexpected: I know zeus is still a first year, but he was once considered slightly below 369! How did he lose lane to kingen? That Gwen pick is not only outta nowhere, but contribute nothing to the team. Because of the top gap aatrox was able to find those vision blanks and win the game for drx. 4, mental: they want to win, cool, I like it, but I think just thinking about winning is not gonna cut it for any team. Last year DK also wanted to win and look where they ended up. It is always the teams that can “lose themselves in the moment like they own it” that ultimately win the game. 5, seriously, T1 have the brightest talents I have ever seen in the post faker era, but they have to realize that mechanics only win battles, it is team collaboration, and vision control that win the war. Especially in disadvantaged moments t1’s miscommunications just made them look idiots who have no decision making what so ever. In the last drake fight look at how oner went in and no one else followed: they should have expected the bard ulti and make up their mind for the Hail Mary 5 second ago, knowing that aatrox is probably behind the wall they can just carry the fight toward the blue buff. This also ties into the draft diff I discussed in point 1 and 2, they have 0 engage so it was difficulty for them to start a fight. In spring, they often used baron flips to force the enemy to come to them, so they never had to learn the art of 5v5 teamfight initiation, now they are paying for it.
Lmao the tldr is basically t1 are really good but they draft like they playing vs randos in urf and don’t respect opponents and will grow from here or some shit
The whole of T1, save Faker, have not once proven themselves the worthiest in the trials of fire that is Worlds and yet they were still propped up so high and had so much to lose. That was why they crumbled in games 4 and 5. If they don't break from these setbacks, they will be tempered into something ever stronger. I have high hopes for their growth in the next few years, as well as the growth of some of their obnoxious fans lol. Respect the game, respect the players, and know the trophy must yet be earned, never bestowed.
I mean earthshaker ult during Dota Ti makes more noise (I am not dota fan at all, I play apex legendswith 0 crowd) but dota fandom has history and bro they are crazy about their game
