Its funny how there have been articles saying San Antonio was on that list of 16, but wikipedia says different... Bring in the Gunslingers or bring back the Talons
Enjoyed the arena football back in the day !! Be nice to play the game on grass outside on a 50 yard field with first & mid field and first & goal. Team get pass mid field is a first down, then you have four plays to score. The chain gang days are over. Then a few of the XFL & USFL rules mixed into the game. 3 - 6 thousands fans, plus a little mud & guts football back in the day that's all you need!!!
Really wanted to see Tampa come back. And the Rattlers and Barnstormers and have the VooDoo back also But I’m overall happy that Odessa and Austin are gonna be in the AFL. I’m only a hour and 15 minutes from Odessa And 2 and a half hours from Austin
I'm not happy with the idea of poaching from other leagues, unless it's from struggling leagued. But there was a reason why teams left the AFL in the first place and the Barnstormers and Rattlers are doing quite well as is the IFL. But I'm still hoping for the AFL. A bit of advice, avoid Albany or wherever Antonio Brown goes like the plague.
Thanks for that. I agree, but I am for 'League Free' Agency'. I mean by that franchises staying alive by fleeing leagues that are failing. The new Arena Football League is, essentially, a start-up. Nobody knows the money behind it and they have not played a snap. I hope that they are successful and that over the next 5 to 10 years they do pick up the old franchises of the AFL, but the Rattlers, Barnstormers and even Green Bay Blizzard are thriving under the IFL. Best case scenario, IMHO, in 3 years the AFL has all of the NAL teams and the IFL and AFL merge resulting in a 'Super League'.
@@CtznArcn "Resulting in a 'Super League'". Now I like that. That's was one of my original dreams for Arena/Indoor football. I always hoped to see something like how we have in Greece with soccer, a league with a few levels. The top/championship level always changes as teams who underperform get deregulated (moved down to a lower level) as teams who do well in the lower levels can be regulated into the championship contending level. In the U.S., with all the smaller markets (the C.I.F. being a good example), in theory, we could end up seeing the Salina Liberty or Omaha Beef going up against the Barnstormers.
