Ree ree doing what she love doing and she sound lovely too I love this lady badd oh lord the tears is dropping heavy her death has left me heartbroken lord lord help the pain is very real 😭😭😭😭😭
You know, y'all crack me up with the whole "CHEST" voice, "HEAD" voice stuff. Next it'll be "STOMACH" voice and "BUTT" voice. I don't get bogged down in that, all I know is QUALITY singing. And Mama Ree has ALWAYS possessed that. Thanks sooo much for this video!!!
I think the only real reasons Aretha sings in her "CHEST VOICE" / "NATURAL VOICE" is when the A/C is on and the Falsetto just won't work in that type of air for her, or if the upper higher notes aren't there that night either. That was a very crowded room and I don't think to many people would have been very happy standing sholder to sholder with no A/C.
@@jalenf3591 women don't have falsetto ...that's a way men sing...look it up....and it was way to connected and she could sing to high for it to be falsetto . It wasn't falsetto .
@@Nonrelatable_t that is falseeeeee. Women do use and have falsetto. Falsetto isn't about what notes people hit but rather the technique used. Aretha would utilize her falsetto but mostly a heavy MIX to sing since mid 90s. A good example of a female falsetto user is Mariah Carey.
iluvmyboba Yes, I agree. We are way too caught up in who can holler the loudest. It is an epidemic that the black church started, as if you can never ever sing your upper register because that's just being "lazy". Definitely way too caught up in what register someone sings in.
Nothing wrong with her chest voice here but it became annoying because she couldnt go higher and it sounded stagnant after 2 mins. Stayed in the same few notes all the way through. She looked a mess here also. Like an old church lady./
@@neochao6354 What is erroneous about my critique? She DIDN'T go into her upper register and she DID stay within a few notes all the way through, and she DOES look like an older church lady here with that wig and that Sanctified Church Lady suit. NOW, if you LIKE the way she looks then ok but if she werent Aretha, most of her fans would say she looks too plain and dated, (and dont tell me she did that on purpose to seem like everyone else or respect for the lord.) She would look like that in concert.
But why does she need to go higher? If she could, she would've but she obviously couldn't. Happens to the best. What Aretha never lost was her ability to sing regardless of register. She still sings in tune, can still emote, and hasn't lost any of her phrasing or those runs she's known for. She still has tone as well.
