I listen to this and feel she’s singing about political changes… reminiscent of Martin Luther King Jr., and John F. Kennedy. Only she could take a Stage and make everything including the audience tiny.
Me one of my favorites. TEARS IM STILL DREAMING ARETHA. I've seen that tiger, but I have The Lion Of Judah! My dream will be fulfilled. Healthcare for all world-wide. 😎🎼🌍♥️🙏🏿
Hello, sorry to bother you, but to be honest, we haven't met before. I found your profile here and I kind of like your sense of reasoning,I hope you don't mind me knowing you more
@mrekbass Well so you are describing yourself to a tee. U r the ignorant bastard of all this name calling!!!! I never called u out ur fucking name. Bitch I retired 2017 before age 50 which i am 51 now. Ive never been lazy u fool. Kiss my round ass.
mrekbass Aretha felt her voice was given by God, if you hear her performances she always thank God for everything she achieved. Her relationship was very deep with God, and her Father, Rev C.L. Franklin is a world known baptist preacher.
No singer anywhere can compare to this iconic woman. She was one of a kind and there will never be another like her. I bow to Queen Aretha Franklin with the utmost respect. God gave her a beautiful gift and we were blessed to be able to witness and hear it first hand. That voice, OMG, that voice❤️
Ms. Morgan James can stand beside her- "Oh me, oh my" and "Come Together"( Her idols are Aretha and Nina and she can change her voice to operatic soprano.
Aretha Franklin was a prime exam of what it means to reach the pinnacles of success. She began at a very young age, as a gospel singer. She never deviated from her gospel training and roots. I can't think of any songs she sang where her gospel roots are present. She showed the world that if the audience applauds your entrance with as much fervor as they do at the conclusion of your performance, you have to ne authentic. You have to be genuine. Many if not most black singers, began singing in the church. They make the mistake of abandoning their gospel roots. Aretha never did. Rest in eternal peace Ms Franklin
OMG. I saw her in concert at The Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA when I was 15 years old. I watched as her magnificent artistry brought grown men to tears. From age 8, my parents bought every album she released. Chris Cuomo on his CNN show on the eve of her passing said something so profound. He said "if you dont believe in God, thats your prerogative. But how could anyone hear Aretha sing and not know there must be a God"? Soon after her passing, NPR radio aired an interview Aretha did with Terry Gross. At the conclusion of the interview, Terry said of Aretha, "she's the greatest singer of the 20th and 21st century, and perhaps one of the greatest of all time. We miss you Aretha. Rest in eternal peace
Danny Rumbles -- Totally agree Danny; her talent is unmatched to this day - her music is a hit in every decade since the 60s.....no other artist can claim that reign!
Continue to bless Aretha Franklin work she has done all their music she did had I I love I love her and her music God continue to bless her and your and give her peace and her family peace
You could scour the entire earth and never, ever find another singer as gifted and talented as Ms Aretha Franklin. What a grand lady she was. Rest In Eternal Peace Queen
The magnificence of Aretha is that her song tells about the joy she founded over many sufferings in her life without words. Clearly she is blessed and she is the blessing for all the mankind.
I had a dream of a woman who came in the world with great song. She taught me Jesus is a love song. We all had that dream. I love you Mrs Aretha Franklin, to God be the glory.
I think about what Chris Cuomo of CNN said during his show broadcast the day she died. He said "if you don't believe in God, this is your prerogative. But I must ask how anyone could hear Aretha sing and not know there must be a God". Rolling Stone Magazine crowned her the greatest singer of all time". I miss you my queen. Rest in eternal and heavenly peace"
I have watched this so many times. Just a glorious live performance by a woman so gifted by God, that we should feel honored and humbled to have witnessed her in our lifetime.
Oh how beautiful to hear God's Angels Singing first thing this morning! Marian Anderson would be proud! Happy African American Music Appreciation Month
@@michelleh4717 It was a tribute performance. When Fantine sings this song she's lamenting the dream she won't live to see, similar to how MLK didn't live to see many of his goals accomplished. Aretha was also close to Dr. King and his family.
I'm very pleased to know I'm not the only one that loves her songs, how often do you like to listening to her songs. She remains the Queen of soul, a great artist, with lovely voice. RIP Legend.

Ok so we know when Aretha entered any stage she wore a hella-gorgeous fur she eventually flicks to the ground cause she know she killin the song by then...check...then she rocks a diamond-encrusted clutch and fire level dress...check...then she str8 murdered the song with soul-stirring, goose-bump worthy perfection...check...then she ended with a riveting crescendo that fell to death tones of amazement...check...then she delivered her infamous curtsy "I'm -a-lady-damnit" classy final bow...check...then the Queen exits stage left knowing she simply slayed once again...check...can we say ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!!! Rip beautiful Ms. Franklin...
She looked absolutely ethereal here, especially with the way her dress flows in the wind. I'd like to imagine this Aretha being the one singing in the heavenly choir.
She was a magnificent person and performer. I grew up loving her, and now as an older lady, I realize how much talent she has always possessed. Such an inspiration to young singers, such a lady. I still play those old soul music records and reminisce.
Aretha Franklin will go down in the history of American music as one of the greatest black vioces of her time yet one of the most under-recognised singer, entertainer, performer of her time. That fine woman had a voice with power and style that was uniquely Aretha Franklin. R I P Babe.
Fantastic performance! Exactly what we need to listen in this time. "I have a dream" She is the voice for all of us, all over the world. I dont believe in politic, Putin, Trumph, Hitler, democracy has never been so fragile. But in the voice of Aretha there is hope❤👍
When she sang "he took my childhood" and then started to take off her coat it was such a well coordinated in sync approach to deliver the emotion needed for that very phrase she sang. Such a pro and a class act💯🙌🏻❤
I haven’t seen Aretha sing this before - she placed it at a new level of greatness. A void in Heaven has now been filled with this magical voice. RIP Aretha, there will never be another you. 🥰💕😘🙏🕊🇦🇺
@A Aretha is no doubt a legend, but her voice is NOT suited to this song, and this was a TERRIBLE rendition. I stand by my assessment, and the only one who is crying here is you, sweetie. Get lost? HECK NO!! Now whatcha gonna do!? 😎
I've been privileged to see many of the true female greats, Whitney, Tina, Nina, Dusty, but the two that Ive seen individually, that would have been mesmerising to see together were Aretha and Mama Africa, Miriam Makeba..
I am amazed still at the depth of the gift that is Aretha Franklin. Though she's no longer on this plane, we are still blessed to be able to enjoy her.
What I particularly liked about this performance was her first few words, "I had a dream." I don't know if it was intentional, but as a Black singer, she evoked Martin Luther King Jr. And then there was the positive spin at the end. Rest in peace and rest in glory, Aretha Franklin. :'(
Your right. I wouldn't of even noticed it, if you didn't say it. The correct lyric is I dreamed a dream.. one of my favorite musicals is Les Mis.. first musical I ever saw on Broadway at 17. Magical..
We should have known this was going to epic before it happened. She was at her height of heights this night. A command performance, quite literally, fit for a queen.
Watching how the performance evolves is fascinating. From the bow at the beginning to dropping the coat in the most elegant way possible, the moving air billowing her gown, the song intensifying, the choir, the big finish. It's very operatic. THIS is why we have and always will call her the Queen.
Perfect Shape???🤔I wonder what PETA thinks about the real fur on that coat?🤔Aretha was known for her Real Fur coats she had several this is one of her finest.
Two things I’ve learned about this legend after watch the video of her perform ‘Natural Woman’ at the Kennedy Center and this: 1. If she wears a fur… it’s coming off… rightfully so lol 2. Once it comes off however, be prepared for a whole new level of performing. It’s like the coat dropping off unlocks a new level of vocal mastery and I LOVE IT. ❤️
This woman was truly gifted and gift to the world. Possibly the greatest singer of all time. You know you got it going on when you receive a standing ovation before you sing the very first note. Rest in eternal peace queen
Every once in a time, there comes an artist with such amazing talent that opens the curtain to heaven and touches the souls of all who are blessed to hear them. Aretha is such a talent. God Bless her. Amen
I'm very pleased to know I'm not the only one that loves her songs, how often do you like to listening to her songs. She remains the Queen of soul, a great artist, with lovely voice. RIP Legend.
How beautiful was that song she was so good at her performancies ,no one can do this song better i miss her thank god we have these videos r.i.p dear areatha
