Listen to the heartbeat....of ARETHA! RIP to a true artist. The Queen is gone, long live the Queen of Soul, the Queen of OUR Soul! GB and much R E S P E C T and a whole lotta L O V E!
She certainly did. She hit me hard as a 14yr old, in 1967, in Australia, as the next best thing in music, after the Beatles. She added so many more layers to modern music. Sensational then - sensational now!!!! AND lm pretty sure we had the same snickers advert here. Love her heaps. PLUS she is an amazing personality as well.
Wow!! I forgot about most of these. Aretha's voice was everywhere in the 80s & 90s. I wish we could have seen more of her acting skills & bits of comedy. She did do more talk shows 2000-2017. This itself showed how she opened up to her fans. One talented lady, indeed!!!😙
THAT RAY CHARLES AND ARETHA COKE AD AT 6:36!!! OH, MY GOD! THEY SHOULD HAVE PACKAGED THAT AD AND SOLD IT AS A SINGLE! IT WOULD HAVE SOLD MILLIONS! MERCY!!!
My mother said the same thing. I had told her earlier she was worth 80 million then a couple days later I told her about all the products she shilled for and the first thing she said was "That's why she was worth 80 million" My mother always admired Andy Rooney from 60 minutes because he always said he would never appear in commercials.
leeuwin1962 watch your tone, guess you missed the “if you don’t have something nice to say sone say nothing at all” that was very rude, disrespectful the wrong way to gain attention you were wrong this was someone’s mother , daughter ,aunt , something special to not only her family, the world, firstly God . But you got some nerve to be trolling in these comments .
A lot of the commercials that she did were for products or places that she would go or buy. And the car commercials were a given since she lived and loved Detroit.
Best believe if any of those struggling actors got slapped by Aretha Franklin they didn't consider it to be violent. They actually considered it to be a boost for their own careers.
Yes she did! I truly believe that's why they choose Aretha jus to us all hooked on most of the food, drink commercials back then including the Wheel of Fortune, they're fan base is mainly ppl of color & retirees!
Just watched the video, and you're right. However, Aretha and James on their worst day are better than many on their best day! lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-voNTPXEyZto.html
Her Detroit accent w/a southern swing to it voice will be missed by us all but the angels are going to give her a grand stand as she comes marching in serenading her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
RIP Ms. Franklin. You have definitely left an impact and a legacy that can never be touched!! By any means. So glad I was able to know you and all the greats early in my childhood than most. Heaven's choir is rocking with you, Marvin Gaye, Luther, Otis, Sam, Isaac, Barry White, Teena Marie, Lena Horne, Whitney, MJ, Prince, four of the classic 5 members of the Temptations (David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams and Melvin Franklin as well as Dennis Edwards), 2Pac, B.I.G., Bob Marley, and the list goes on and on...Rest in heaven to the queen and everyone now in that beautiful choir.
Nice! And this is only a fraction of the commercials that she did. She did a commercial for Folgers, Amoco Gas, not mention the theme songs to TV shows.
She’s so uplifting. I listen to her sing anything and feel happy. Really so unique and irreplaceable. The BEST. Thanks for posting that snickers commercial 😂 and a great human being. although I ve had the great fortune to discover Jennifer Holiday 😍 recently
Just plain AWSOME!!! What A Woman!!! Never saw these commercials and I don't understand why. She was just prolific in her gifts to her family, her community and the world. The Creators example and vessel to reach across all of humanity and I know God is saying to her Well Done my child - Well Done and now come rest your Beautiful Soul, Spirit my Black - DOS Daughter..
Wow this was beyond awsome didn't know aretha did all this and the thing that suprise me the most was the wheel of fortune.i always felt that was the most anti black show and to see that she was responsible for there theme song absolutely amazes me.much respects to her whitney never did this no she didn't.always our queen Aretha she was there for black people in commericals when no one else was she was there this beautiful black woman she should have been mrs.santa claus she was a joy to watch always up until her death she never stop performing her last performance was the grandaughter taping her in march just barely holding but she was still playing and singing....Arethas gonna be truly missed bow to the queen and her name is queen Aretha.im left speechless after these commercials ive never seen.just speechless.
Ps I like the wheel of fortune commercial but I have to give an honorable mention for Aretha doing the theme song for" A Different World" while her then husband Glenn Turman stared on the show❤️🖤💚🥰
Gosh, I remember that cool Pepsi diner commercial & also the Wheel Of Fortune spot. The Pepsi/Coca Cola wars of my childhood. NES commercial blew me away!!
Where do y'all get this stuff from?. It was a lot of companies that wanted her to do things. Like she said "She is a Singer". The commercial business was good, but she wasn't in that business. She has always got RESPECT!!! Still getting it even as she rest in perfect peace. #TheQueenofSoul #TheGoat #Legend ❤👑
Thanks for putting of these together in one clip. I have most of them as separate clips. Do you possibly have the commercial (I think it was Coke) with Aretha and her sisters? It starts out with the announcer, "Erma, Carolyn and Aretha Franklin", with a long, upbeat intro before the singing. It was probably from 1968, maybe 1969. Thank you.
No. That’s sounds fabulous. I had an lp Of coke jingles that I extended and shared on the channel but I haven’t heard that one yet. If it turns up, please paste the link in the comments for this video. I would love to hear it.
Yes, it was terrific. The announcer had a good build up, announcing their names and leaving Aretha to the last. I used to have that one, but I don't see it on my backup drive for some reason. If I see it again, I'll be sure to let you know. And thanks again for putting this video of commercials together.
all the great artist who changed music opening doors paving the way for todays artist their all gone , without them there would be no Mary J blige no Chaka khan no Alesha keys
