The largest flying birds alive today, being the wandering albatross, several species of large pelicans and the Andean condor are truly impressive birds in the air, having wingspans of 3 meters plus, capping out at about 3.7 meters. Indeed, being very amazing to see, it’s fascinating to think that in the past, there were even larger birds capable of flight, one of which being the ever-interesting Argentavis, which weighed as much as a person, and were the closest animals to the mythical roc that we know of.
