Argenti English Voice Actor Treated Unfairly - Honkai Star Rail 2.3 

I also felt that my game was bugged the first time I experienced it.

I didn't notice a thing, because I usually play with sounds off (except for Major Events, like cutscenes and story boss fights)

I thought it was a contract issue, where they couldn’t add his voice for legal reasons lol

i thought my game resource werent fully downloaded

This happens to everyone that use EN voice pack

I was surprised to encounter him in penacony and felt sad after meeting him in 2 patches he was still muted.

The bug only happens with the English voice, I don't know if they're intentionally doing it to him.

​@@Darkos88it's not a bug or they treat him unfairly buddy. The problem is between he/his agency with hoyo so his voice isn't there was intended until this they can work the communication and reach equal agreement

@@Darkos88 i think his boss is pretty fun maybe not the shield taunt part, cuz that just punishes supports. On a different note. Have you seen the Aventurine boss in the divergent universe? Its finale phase has the gamble mechanic slightly changed where everyone needs to help get to a really big number, I think that was awesome. Just wished it saved me an extra hour during the story😭😭

Aventurine's "It's all or nothing!" manages to give me literal chills every single time! When I was fighting against him in the Forgotten Hall I didn't restart even when I knew that I wouldn't get 3* just to listen to this god-like voiceline. (⁠*⁠´⁠ω⁠｀⁠*⁠)

@@Yoruharu lol but its only a excepcion, normally Gacha Games like Cookie Run Kingdom, Star Rail, Genshin and probably soon WuWa and ZZZ, hates his male playable characters nerfing his kits, taking away from the story and etc

The only option would be to hope someone plays the story when it's fixed and put it on RU-vid for us to experience that we couldn't on our first go

Correct, the voice actor is fine, and he is chill about the situation.

Yeah, especially in version 2.2, the moment was really strange, like seeing Argenti mute and not moving his mouth at all.

Don't worry, his work is good and he fits the character well, so he won't be replaced by anyone. And yes, this is Hoyoverse's fault for not fixing this bug for two patches, so the voice actor shouldn't be affected in any way.

Are you sure its the 2.2 and 2.3 story dialogue? Because all his other voice lines are fine just the recent ones arent

@@asoretI don’t think it’s quite like the Tighnari-Situation, both parties here seem in agreement and I wouldn’t speculate on something as grave with no further evidence. My guess is that he did record the voice lines and that there was some issue either from a technical standpoint or that his delivery was not what Hoyo had in mind. What many don’t realize is that VAs don’t really get told much about what they’re voicing, it’s not like they’re lip-synching to pre-existing game material, so sometimes, there can be a disconnect. Famously, the Neuvillette VA didn’t know much about his character when he recorded the attack lines, and when he wanted to re-record Hoyo declined, which is why our orderly judge now goes “Hoah! Shuhaa! Hoooo!” In combat.

Actually, Hoyoverse is also quick in handling issues like the recent top-up problem, which was fixed promptly. However, I don't know why they're finding it so difficult to fix this voice bug.

I am not a game dev but if it's taking this much time then it is probably not a simple issue. They are not gonna mute characters on purpose they pay them for this.

There's no drama, and the voice actor has confirmed it's just a bug. However, it's disappointing to see him silent for two patches even though he keeps appearing.

I would assume it's a legal or contract issue Apparently he doesn't talk in the express now either?

@@Darkos88 Oh. So lines were recorded and files for them are in the game but the tracks just aren't playing on queue, okay that's better than alternatives like he's just lowkey been dropped. That said, disappointing as it is, I can sorta understand if it's a low priority bugfix in their development and correction schedules.

​@@asoretaudio stuff is probably harder to fix - I remember in another game, not Hoyoverse, but there was an issue where the audio wasn't matching up to the cutscenes or the gameplay and it took them like a month to fix it. It's probably because they want to get the story done and just fix some stuff later on.

So you switch to English just for Argenti. That's really cool and I appreciate your effort!

Yes, that's absolutely right. It seems that everyone using the English voice will be affected in the same way. I also thought my game was broken because his voice was missing, but after restarting, it turned out he was indeed mute.

It's been two patches, and I don't know when they will fix it.
