This is awesome. Nothing better than teaching a kid how to fish. My 3 year old granddaughter goes with my son and me for "Fishing day" at a local lake. No better feeling than when she hooks one!

She ain't there to play, she wants to FISH! Dad showed her what to do, she just did it all by herself. What a smart girl. She didn't hook herself, didn't ask for help, she was paying attention to EVERY word. Dad has a great fishing buddy for life! I once went fishing with my youngest son a few summers ago, he is nearly 35. He had some old garage sale reel my brother left at my house, zebco something or another, 2 piece stick, and I had some old gear from years ago, some spider line, a few rattle traps. We were doing some old school bass fishing at a pond. I put a weedless frog on for him, told him how to fish it. He threw it near some reeds and got nailed by a 3lb big mouth bass. He got so excited, then the rod and reel decided it had enough. The rod broke in half, but the fish was still on! I told him to keep reeling, and grabbed the line. Then the reel came apart, and I told him to just start backing up from the shore. He finally got it pulled out of the water, and he was screaming, cussing the rod/reel, and I was laughing at the top of my lungs! One of my proudest and funnest things I have done with my son. He was still so concerned with the pole. He wanted to let the fish go, so we did. I told the fish we would be back to catch him on better gear soon! In my mind, God put us there, with that very equipment, that very day, and we shared a father/son moment I will never ever forget! I did well up some eye juice afterwards and still crack up when I think of that day. God bless those moments we get to share with family and friends. Not a greater feeling, even if you destroy all the equipment, its still a good day fishing. Gonna go call my son now. Love you guys!
