As someone who's never seen nor heard this child sing or perform this is a bad introduction. She wasn't singing to the lost soul of a beloved idol, she was performing at a concert and she dressed the part. I bet she wouldn't wear that outfit to her grandmother's funeral. For me she'll be remembered as the girl with the weak voice, in the scandalous dress, that set the stage for endless sex joke memes and gifs to last a lifetime. Her stylist should know by now what is tasteful to wear at funeral services. It’s fly mini-skirt but maybe not the best thing to wear standing in-front of a whole bunch of men who can almost see up your rear-end behind the podium. Also you can’t tell me the skirt wasn’t a distraction from the song.

Tbh the version she did on jimmy fallon was better but her voice is so tired cuz of her performing non stop recently, poor baby, but good performance non the less and I literally see no problem with her dress it's not even that short. I am tired of reading the excuses fans make, such as "their voice was tired" or "they were sick", for their favourite singers. The truth is Ariana sounded better on Jimmy Fallon purely because her voice was mixed after her performance as the recording wasn't broadcasted live. Whereas here, the band seems to be significantly louder than her but because it's live (and I doubt the sound engineers were concerned), her levels weren't changed during the song. I doubt the megachurch has a decent PA system you'd expect at a tv studio.
