This episode was so great lmao. I think what did it for Ken was the "no real person involved" thing. Plus Logan only sent Naomi away because she was influencing Kendall to be more confident. It's like in episode 7 when he blew her off and made Kendall go see that British boy's family. He's losing his grip on Kendall and Naomi is the one person he cannot control because she's part of her own powerful family.

Another thing that did it for Ken was his father telling him that "He's not a killer; and for doing the top job, you've got to be one"... Ken proved that he could be a killer during that press meet.

Yeah, this has been confirmed by Jeremy Strong as being the turning point for Ken. He said the NRPI comment is the moment he realizes that his father is actually evil and decides he's not going to fall on his sword for him anymore.

I’ll never forget the shock I had at the very final scene with Kendall at the press conference. I paced across my living room for a solid 10 minutes trying to process everything. Phenomenal ending.

Matthew macfadyen is already famous from pride and prejudice ( he is british and just wanted to try out his American accent in united states). Just type on google tom wambsgans to mr darcy ( people are more amazed by matthew than because he is never done comedy). Matthew has done basically period drama so everyone was shocked by his transformation . I am watching bbc ,itv, amc drama since 2010 ( I am an Indian and studied at nit durgapur ).

You lives in a bubble there are more far better actor than jeremy strong if you talk about cinema. I'm really happy you "got" the Greg reveal during the last scene (most reviewers gloss over that part). A really fitting climax to the Tom/Greg destroying documents plotline. The mention of papers and the pan from the briefcase to Greg was one of my favorite moments in an episode loaded with them. Explains why Greg went with Kendall to the press conference.

This episode is WILDLY good and probably my favorite in the entire series. The layers and the set-up between Kendall and Logan before the ending are so well-written and subtle. The ending itself - all the way down to Logan’s brief, slow wisp of a smirk - yields so much room for interpretation. I, like many others, choose to believe Logan handed Kendall a prime opportunity to “become a killer” and earn his position as a true, legitimate successor. As a CEO, he’s disappointed in the betrayal and his potential professional funeral, but it does serve as a viable solution to the control crisis as foreshadowed by the opening scene; as a father, he’s finally proud of his son.

I've been binging your reactions to this series and I just have to say, I LOVE how into it you both get, because you actually pay attention to not just the text but the subtext, and the emotional manipulations and trauma at play, and you really understand what's going on, it's so great. I feel like a lot of people watch this show and get confused by the corporate-ese and just think of it like a bunch of assholes in board rooms yelling, but the way you both can predict how characters will react to events is so fun to watch. Just had to pop in and say that. Excited to continue my binge!

It might be my speculation but I feel that maybe Logan was threatened by how Kendall handled the testimony and he doesn't like when he is confident, so it might have made Kendall a main choice for blood sacrifice for this reason. Also, it surprised me how Roman reacted to Logan's decision about Kendall.

Logan literally trying to justify sacrificing him to his face, what would ruin his life and destroy any chance of him being CEO, then telling him he didn’t think he had the credentials anyway after promising him his entire life that he’ll take over. And then promoting Roman RIGHT AFTER, right in front of him. Yeah. Kendall had no choice but to snap.

It’s definitely a build up of things but that was when I felt like he was like ‘you’re going to take away the one thing you said would give me purpose? and preparing to bury me right away? great.’

But I still think from what a new viewer would know up until this point that Logan telling him he didn’t have a chance anyway when everyone watched him desperately trying to get to the top was the cherry on top.

This episode is just fantastic. I dont know. Its so fucking great. But just a quick note: Love how Shiv is this "progressive woman" who wants to make the world better, but the moment that she starts realizing how far her relationship to Tom is damaged, you know what she does? She asks an employee of Waystar to have a threesome with her and Tom on a yacht right after leaving congress hearings about sexual misconduct at their cruise ships.

Yea she was a better person when she wasn’t involved in the family business! That’s why Tom and Shiv worked and you can tell they love each other even if shiv is emotionally closed off but once her father sucked her into his orbit she had to become this cold calculating person. Logan makes everyone around him feel broken and that spills out into every part of their lives. She cheated and the open relationship stuff was bullshit but throwing your husband under the bus to go to prison is insanity. If she wasn’t in the company she would have probably never done that. Logan is truly a cancer

Gerri too, given that she’s the one who intimidated him into doing it when he initially wanted to air it all out and come clean. And Greg who told Gerri about Tom’s plans and ironically set himself up to get his hands way dirtier than he probably wanted. They’re all such vipers and Tom genuinely wanting to do the right thing is the point where I realized that he does have a soul, but tragically not strong enough to do the right thing when push comes to shove, because he’s willing to push aside his morals for his seat at the table. In a just world him and most of the main characters would be behind bars.

Well.. i don't believe Ken is the favorite son, he's just easy to manipulate, to toy with, the ones who easily cracks among the siblings. Shiv was able to have a life outside the company and family drama until Logan persuaded her to join the game, Roman shuts his emotion down and directs the nasty words to other people, Connor's living in his own bubble not really minding the drama as long as privilege keeps coming. But Ken hold onto the promise of becoming the CEO, he tries everything to prove he's worthy despite how many times Logan called him stupid and undermines him, he'd try to fight Logan several times making the game more exciting for Logan but in the end he still comes back. Just as Caroline said Logan treats his kids like a dog he kicks and see if they keep coming back.

Shiv is a literal sociopath masquerading as a "good" person among the group, she is the closest to Logan in terms of treating people, especially ones close to her. She literally, on the emotional level, can't even grasp what Tom was saying, but he was unhappy, her sort of puppy, so she decided to protect her puppy and "kill" her brother, which works for her beloved dad as well. There, I said it.

All of them have some aspect of Logan in how they treat people, Shiv kicks them just to see if they'll come running back, but in her own fucked up way values Tom, rewatching you kind of realise Kendall isn't a real person to Roman or Shiv until he shows vulnerability and a human side. Of course the difference between her and Logan is Tom is her only real flunkey, none of the Siblings get people on their side.
