If you remove the outer tube of the frothing nozzle and steam the milk without it, the froth becomes much better. Firmer and more consistent. Just try it out! :-) BTW, I bought a very nice metal plunger (coffee press) after a few days, which I luckily found in the internet. Due to the uncommon size it was not available in our local shops. It is worth every single penny! It creates the impression that the machine is more precious, so does my lovely metal coffee measuring scoop- :-)
How long does it take the machine to steam 130ml of milk to 65c? Would it be a good solution as a steaming device only, alongside a better single-boiler espresso machine (e.g. a Gaggia Classic or a Lelit PL41TEM)? This could make for a very inexpensive upgrade from a single-boiler machine to a "dual-boiler", allowing one to pull a shot and steam at the same time. Is this realistic?
I bought one of these had no water flow. It is an easy fix open the base up pull the two tubes and manually siphon water into the pump , then the airlock is removed once you put the water tank back on! Problem Solved!.
@@MyShadowOwner Open up the base about 4-6 screws. There are two pvc tubes that are cable tied. Unclip the cable tie and pull them off. Turn the machine upside down so that it sits on the wires. Take the hose that goes into the heater (thing that vibrates) and immerse the end in water. Turn the machine on (brew button). This will get rid of the airlock and you will notice water flowing in the other tube. Good luck! Don't return the machine just fix it yourself!!
no need to open it up, just let it cool down and prime the machine as instructions shown for fist use, place an empty filter and turn on the pump and machine and take out a big mug of water. it might be noisy, if it keeps making air noises you need to descale the machine. the only thing you need to remove is the top filter once or twice a year to remove leftover cofeegreases.
Thanks for the video! Awsome espresso machine, I recomend it. I just bought it today (22 Jan 2020 - 59€) in replacement of a bad immitation , Silvercrest 313486 from Lidl which was a total disaster of a machine.
@@paulofthebailey if you dont allow the coffee puck to extract (run the machine) long enough, you get a sour tasting brew. Run it too long, you get a bitter over extracted brew
Thanks for your video. I have seen another video that says the expresso produced by this coffee machine teaste weak and empty ... What is your opinion ??? Is it good enough ?
It's ok. I mean this maschine costs under 100 bucks, while decent ones start at way over 200. There are two things, you can do to improve your Espresso and Cappuccino quality, though: - Firstly, remove the outer tube from the steam nozzle. It helps beginners to create milk foam, but the consistency will be aweful (big bubbles). Without it you have much more control, but need to practice a couple of times (took me about 5 cappuccini to get decent milk foam) - Secondly, you can modify the portafilter: Disassemble the sieve part and drill a hole in the bottom most part (the one with the small metal circle in the middle, which has one tiny hole). This metal part with the tiny hole is for beginners, so that they have a crema on their espresso, even with the cheapest coffee possible. But crema should form anyway when using an ok-ish coffee been or better. So with this thing the crema will have big bubbles and not look nice. With it drilled out you will have a nice, fine and even crema. I have been (and still am) using this maschine with great success. It even surprised some real barristas, who said the espresso is somewhat decent.
Nice video. I am thinking of buying this machine as my firrst coffee machine :) i have 3 questions please. 1) Because i dont drink very strong coffee, can you use more than one time after filling the coffee press? Or one fill is for one time only? 2) you can use any coffee? 3) the steamer has limited time to be used or you can use for as long you want to froth the milk?
so am i! ok, my sister was a barista so I've tried to answer your questions: 1. if you reuse the coffee grounds the coffee will be weaker but still drinkable. You could also put less coffee grounds into the portafilter. 1 scoop=1 shot, 2 scoops= double shot 2. yes you can use any type of coffee so long as it's grounds, not instant 3. I think the steamer comes without a timer, but it should say in the manual how long to use it for. Typically to get a nice crema you would froth the milk for about a minute, or until the container you are frothing in becomes hot to touch if you use a metal pitcher. There are lots of quick tutorials which show how to get it perfect:)
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Ivan Issac i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
You are over extracting the coffee .you should not extract more than 40 gram of liquid otherwise it doesn’t taste good.but if you drink it with milk it doesn’t matter anyways.
Ho comprato la stessa macchina però marchiata IKOHS e fa un caffè schifoso. Quello che non capisco è perché lo stesso articolo venga venduto con più marchi!!!
I can see why you'd say that, because in theory increasing pressure also increases temperature but in this particular situation it doesn't burn. Instead it doesn't even let the water get everywhere evenly, creating water channels and making your brew taste cheap. Basically it doesn't let all your coffee inside it brew properly.
@@TechGuruAndrew I'm bit concerned about the rubber and plastic in the filter. Does it affect the taste? Is it easy to clean? Can you do a follow up video on cleaning etc.
