It's mostly in the Nigerian culture. I've actually asked a Nigerian about this stereotype and he said; growing up he was taught by his parents that (american) black men are lazy and the women are gold diggers". Straight from the horses mouth. And they're extremely hard on their kids when it comes to education. It's just their culture. There's a big Nigerian community here in SW Houston and they DON'T really mingle with native blacks, which is why this bit is funny because its rooted in truth and is relatable.

It's a shame how separated we are to have the same roots, no matter how many years and how distant. While I don't think all Africans are like that, those I've encountered have attitudes no better than the Chinese and Indians (from India) that look and act a certain way when we're around.
