I love Aries honesty in his interviews. Regardless of the toughness of the subject, he always speaks his truth. Yes, it may get him into trouble and yes, it may cause him to be ostracized by the industry, but I respect the rebel in him. Plus, he is notably one of the funniest, well informed and prepared comics in the world. His nod to Public Enemy was dope and his thoughts on Black people, religion and God is spot on. Keep being true to who you are brother Aries. We see you. Big nod!

I completely agree with his stance on religion and God. He hit the nail on the head as far as too much unexplainable events that go on, makes you question religion and God because it really doesn't make sense sometimes. God may show up sometimes but not all the time. Too many people suffering and dying.

I feel the same, I have shifted away from the religious belief I used to have in religion (especially Abrahamic religion) when I kept seeing indescribable atrocities everywhere. Now I see religion more as a coping strategy for those who need hope or some sort of compass to which they can shape their everyday life. I still have Christian morals and try to be "Christ-like" but I just can't bring myself to fully believe in God anymore.

Ok, my message just erased before i could send it...so ill make this quick. I disagree that shooting one cop will bring more harm. Malcom made no illusions that some would pay the ultimate cost with our lives. A person no longer fearing death is free. A people with this mindset are not easily defeated. Especially fighting like this on US soil. They d have to consider the toll of such a battle. But without a strong leader, without believing in something greater, without pride all we will ever do is beg and plead for equality. Just study there history to see how they ve gotten there freedom.

Just like Aries said, black people are deeper into God. Which reminds me of what I know about being “tight with God” gets you. I know this probably won’t make him or anybody else struggling with God feel any better but, it is said that the faithful will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3: 12 says, “Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in union with the Messiah Jesus will be persecuted.” And there will be a reward for faith. 2 Timothy 4:8 “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” So the message is, we’re all just gonna have to suffer for the rest of our lives, until we get that reward for our faith. But of course we are living and suffering for our faith, which leads to the struggle to believe in all that stuff.
