Aries Spears got his big break into mainstream comedy while appearing on MADtv, and at one point he tried to bring famed actor Paul Mooney on the show as a writer. However, Paul told Aries that he didn't get the job, because he was "too real" during the interview, which included him accusing the show of ripping off his comedic talents. During the conversation Aries was also asked about his thoughts on gay rumors surrounding Paul, which he addressed by saying that Mooney "has some sugary moves."
Moving along, the famed comedian spoke to us about whether he believes there will ever be an openly gay, Black comedian that will go mainstream, and Aries told us he thinks it's completely possible. He then added that straight Black males that attend his shows are typically tense when he starts telling jokes about friends playfully insulting one another by saying, "suck my d***." Aries explained that while it's a common phrase among men, he added that they also aren't open to him speaking about it in public.
