ACE OF MELON BASE "i Saw the name And it opened up the page i saw the name I was demanding Melon came with understanding I saw the name And since then nothing was the same i saw the name No one's gonna drag me up to get into melon where i belong '"
bro what he did was actually amazing. Producing that, mixing it. writing it all on his own, damn. One of new favourite artists. He really is ahead of anyone else in that soundscape of the scene. can't overlook him.
Yes. That. I feel as if people judge aries like someone with a silver spoon, he isn't a seasoned artist with a record deal, he doesn't have usher taking him under his wing. What we hear are like twenty one pilots "car radio". Not many people heard car radio and realized the budding genius. I think people hear aries and subconsciously judge him as a signed, professional artist and dock points for shit they don't realize he hasn't had two seconds to learn because he ALREADY sounds like a professional paid star half assing it, when he's actually an amateur self produced, self written, self promoted, self taught young homie with some serious talent.
@@Deenique16 I've been following Aries since he released carousel, I've watched him work and grow. I'm saying thanks for providing even more attention to somebody who's been deserving it.
Really happy and surprised you reviewed this so quickly. I expect Aries to be one of the biggest artists of the next decade. I've never anticipated a release from an independent artist like this before I really enjoyed it but I think a 6/10 makes sense because almost half of the music had been out for a while and I think I account for a few thousand of the streams of Sayonara!
Thats awesome how excited you are for the guy i really like him too. Mainstream popularity though idunno man. I wonder if post malone completely didnt exist if Aries would then have become a massive artist. Now it seems like he at best will be robin or a diet coke
I hear a line with 10 alliterated words that rhyme, personify, and metaphorically say what should take a paragraph. If you think aries is muted and lacking.. stick with Sixn9ne.
for a project that basically serves as an introduction or breakout i would have to give this one an 8 honestly. only other gripe i really have would be about Pony, i disagree a bit and think it’s one of the better tracks on the album, it’s my favorite on the album. top 3 overall would be Pony, Sayonara, and Amy’s Grave easily. to each their own but i loved this project and is one of my favorites of 2019 and i’m still listening to it now. extremely relatable, lyrics resonate with me a lot, love the vibe, and i also think it’s very well produced. this is probably a bit biased because i relate to this project on a personal level but oh well. love it.
@@renapeppers20 QOTSA was a more negative sounding review because it was a letdown. but a solid album can still be a letdown. if you follow up an 8/10 album with a 6/10, the review will sound more negative even if it's still an above average record.
You should listen to < Friends by him (less than friends) it’s my favorite song by him besides Deity and Sayonara. But it seems like he hasn’t promoted it at all. Lmk!
@@gruntkicker Actually I made a typo and since my ocd ass can't stand the "(edited)" label I did it again. Also you're one of those people who love to pick wholes on everything aren't you.
So glad you took a listen to the album. Love ARIES and his work. But i feel the same about how some of the tracks on the album mainly the album only tracks like BAD NEWS, AMY'S GRAVE and PONY kind of lack a uniqueness in sound. Where SAYONARA, RACECAR, and SANTA MONICA can be easily heard as there own song. Either way love the album and I hope for more in the future.
I came back to this video to see how Aries fans are feeling that he’s not reviewing the new album. Really disappointed I really wanted to hear his thoughts. Maybe he’s just indifferent on the project so he didn’t think it was worth a video? 😭🤧
I’m gonna be honest, I love this album to death, and my two favorite songs are Santa Monica and Carousel, probably because they’re easy to listen to and absorb while I’m doing stuff in my day to day life. But at the end of the day there are songs on this album I don’t like all that much, so in my opinion I’d say 8-9ish
I'd say 9. I the only gripe I have is some parts of Deity even though it's one the best ones on the record. My fave being Amy's Grave and my least being Racecar? I still love all the songs though
Thanks for reviewing this. RACECAR and BAD NEWS are probably some of my favorite pop rap songs of the year. I think this is a pretty strong debut for Aries, which puts him in the rare category with the likes of Joji for RU-vid creators transitioning into artists. The fusion of 90's boyband love ballads and emo rap instrumentals isnt the most unique sound I've ever heard, but the outstanding production makes each song stickier and more memorable than most of emerging emo pop artists. 7/10
I’m so glad you reviewed this album!😁 You Should Do Jay Príme’s Pardon My French EP! I think up and coming artist like him deserve a shot. He’s definitely up next
I’m so proud of Aries and how far he’s come. This project is amazing and he deserves more recognition for the visuals he puts together. He provides a unique experience when compared to his contemporaries
it’s the difference between melon going into an album expecting nothing and coming out feeling positive (this), and going into an album expecting to love it and coming out not as positive as he hoped (mbdtf)
I'm really happy to see that you liked this album. I've loved Aires's music for a long time but I never thought that you would like it. Good to see I was wrong.
I try to expose more underground artists as well! Hopefully I can extend my reach, because it really makes me sad to not see them get that many views, but I still love doing it. Helping people find new music/artists and helping expose people really means a lot to me. Good job to you, Melon. I'll keep on that grind 'till it works out the way I'd like it to! :)
